I work on this site DJ, very interesting with the Mine etc… The extension works are for product testing. There used to be an academy onsite to let trades people come in and teach plastering I think, not 100% sure. The “water pit” on the front entrance as you called it is there because of protected wildlife, I’m sure it was Great Crested Newts.
And i have worked on there many times as a contractor, and to be honest, everyone there have usually been great. Travel to site was great, i only live a 3 minute walk away 😊.

Security are so old school in general they obviously need educating in social media duties because they are still representing the business they are protecting.

The British Gypsum mine in Fauld near Tutbury is interesting. It was the site of the largest non nuclear explosion in WW2 when it was used as Bomb storage a huge crater there. 52°50'52.6"N 1°43'52.1"W

More of a glowing representation of the staff at Gypsum than it demonstrates the validity of your work. Well handled by both members of staff. Security asked you politely to leave site repeatedly and Tom was a credit to the firm.
