Should check out Radiohead’s rejected James Bond theme for Spectre. Whoever is responsible for choosing Sam Smith’s dreary non-event of a song over Radiohead’s effort has no business whatsoever working their role
Worth noting that Radiohead submitted 2 songs for Spectre that were both rejected for different reasons. Man of War was their initial submission and was well received by the Bond producers until they realised it wasn’t a new composition and therefore wouldn’t be eligible for the Best Original Song Oscar. After that the producers reached out to Sam Smith, which was when Radiohead approached them again asking to take another crack at it with an original song, Spectre. Both are far superior to the boring Sam Smith song and both would make for great reaction videos. Personally I think Spectre is one of Radiohead’s finest songs, and Man of War was of course one of their most beloved unreleased songs for about 2 decades.
His voice is so vulnerable and haunted, with a hint of defiance. I love the line “all is well as long as we keep spinning”. Such a fragile state to need to maintain.
More Radiohead "albums" you can react: - My Iron Lung (EP) - Some B-Sides from The Bends Era -OKNOTOK 2nd disc - All B-sides from Ok Computer Era - KID A MNESIA 3rd disc - Some B-sides from Kid A / Amnesiac Era - From The Basement: The King of Limbs - TKOL live versions which feels different than the studio versions and includes three more new songs (there's also a From The Basement where In Rainbows is played but there's no new songs in there) More Thom Yorke projects: - AMOK- Atoms For Peace - A Light for Attracting Attention - The Smile - The Eraser - Tomorrow's Modern Boxes - Anima
This is such a meditative song, also like Unmade from the same album/movie. I recommend watching the movie some time soon, its a masterpiece in its own right. Thom Yorkes score fits it perfectly, it lingered with me for weeks and weeks after.
i 100% agree. it's on-par with their best and they sound amazing live. can't wait for LP2... they teased a new music video for it. my guess is Colours Fly
His solo work really highlights his voice. For me, Thom with a guitar or a piano is always going to be gold. I hope you listen to The Eraser. Thom and Jonny have a stripped back version of Cymbal Rush that I’ll share with you && the lyrics && his voice always shine.
Lovely track. For another slice of Thom Yorke 'solo' goodness, I'd really recommend the Mark Pritchard track 'Beautiful People' which features Thom. The video is also fantastic. Think you'd love it mate.
Okay Jack so you clearly got a good musical taste, I'd love to see your reaction to some of the finest currently out there- Aurora, Bon Iver, Big Red Machine, Novo Amor, Hozier, Ben Howard pleeaaaasse!!!
There's an alternate version of this song that plays during the closing credits of the movie (in the soundtrack is named Suspirium finale) that i like a little bit more than this one
Yesssss! We're happy that you're continuing the journey, Jack! You have an instinctive feel and connection with music and rhythm, which makes for engaging reactions! 🤩 Gotta say, I love the comments almost as much as your insights. So many great recommendations from the huge body of incredible work from _Radiohead_ and their collaborators. Commenter @petterblack1351 makes some top suggestions. 🎶 We're here for them all. ✨️
Thank you so much! I can’t wait to check out more from their extensive catalog! The comments are my favourite part as well I love connecting with others and others sharing their love of music is so amazing
Can you the single Bending Hectic by The Smile? It's not on their studio album and, having watched allllll of your Radiohead reactions, can guarantee pure joy.
Hope you react to some of his other stuff. I have a few tracks in mind, mostly the mother lode, the eraser, unmade, cymbal rush, the clock, and also some of his atoms for peace stuff, such as the song amok, ingenue and before your very eyes. These are my picks anyways, but I'm just hyped if you react to any of his work really
Burial + Four Tet + Thom Yorke - Ego / Mirror (2011) & Her Revolution / His Rope (2020) are 2 double singles, which I recomend you listen together in one video.
yeah reaction to b side of ok computer but in reality radiohead have 2 kind of ok computer bside. You have the compilation of bside called in america airbag how i am driving. atmospheric song and very great album for a bside album. One of my favorite album. You have other bside more commercial and radiohead release some videoclip for this when ok computer be released again few years ago. Man of War, Lift and i promise. Just watched your whole journey today. Fantastic thing to see. Of Thom's solo work I highly recommend the album Anima. I was so moved when I heard it.
Glad you checked out the vids!
One of my favourite Thom songs. Thanks for another great reaction!
Black Swan is my personal favourite Thom Yorke song.
Personally a big fan of "Twist" from the "ANIMA" album.

suspirium is so haunting and yet so catchy

Can't wait for you to hear Anima. Full of bangers.

Would love to see B-side reactions, especially Ok Computer. It's like discovering a whole other side of the band which is arguably just as good

You need to listen to The Eraser (Thom first solo album) It's amazing!
Songs from anima and the eraser are more catchy and interesting imo. This album is hard to enjoy without understanding the concept
I had not heard this one yet👌🏻
Man trust me Porcupine Tree and Steven Wilson’s solo work will change your life
Great soundtrack to a great movie, recommend checking it out.
Rabbit in your headlights. That is all
New PJ Harvey mate when you can

Suspirium? Almost correct, try again.
