Very interesting to see someone who leans conservative and espouses more traditional values listening to bands like radiohead and pink floyd, who's members are extremely vocal about their far left wing values and beliefs. In fact, almost all talented artists in history were, if not straight up socialists, at least liberals.
If you really want your mind blown. I listen to Frank Ocean and I'm 100% straight. I've bet against my own team and won(although I no longer gamble). Django is one of my favorite films even though black Americans find it offensive. Oh, and I watch CNN, MSNBC, and Fox. Not a fan of most echo chambers. I hate the message in 85% of hip-hop. However, I still listen to it from time to time because great art is just fn great art.
@Christopher Moltisanti do you ever wonder why so many of the people who are the best at artistically expressing the deepest, most central human experiences are left leaning?
@Christopher Moltisanti music is full of logic though. At it's core, it's just a bunch of math.
@Christopher Moltisanti the idea that most professional musicians don't have any structural understanding of music and just vibe it out is a misconception.
@@christophermoltisanti8475 Liberals would say they're compassionate and conservatives are heartless. It might be worth seeing people as individuals instead of focusing on who is your political enemy/ally.
big request for the From The Basement set of songs by radiohead. they play everything live in the studio and you get to see it all come together.
I've seen Radiohead live multiple times and they are the greatest live band I've ever heard.
That From the Basement session might be their greatest performance.
40 year old kid here. Radiohead and Tool have been 2 of my favorite bands for over 20 years at this point. It's so cool to see you enjoy their music as much as I have over the years. Just like Tool, Radiohead doesn't really have bad songs. Some are better than others, but none are bad. God bless you, and enjoy the ride. I know I have.
likewise. I'm hitting 44 this year, and these are the only 2 bands that have never felt stale or dated or left my playlist.
My daughter and I used to listen to the In Rainbows CD while cruising around, singing every song together. That’s what I think of when I hear Radiohead.
Listen to Radiohead almost every day. In the car, headphones, at work. Their entire discography is excellent and their live performances are even better
37 year old Caucasian male from Texas. I grew up listening to hip hop and pop music such as snoop Dre Eminem and 50 cent but my father had me listen to a new album he had called Kid A in the early 2000’s I was maybe 14 or 15 years old and I remember thinking (this is future music and I am not ready for this) I was absolutely mesmerized by the sound Radiohead created. Years went by and I started getting away from popular music it just dulled me so I told myself “hey I’ll check out the band my dad loved “ well here I am now back at where my dad started when he was my age now and they have become my fav band of all time and I listen to them daily otw to work or mowing the yard. I’m not depressed like most people think of Radiohead fans lol. I like football fast cars video games and body building, I’m basically a jock that is addicted to Radiohead lol. Thanks
I’m 41, female, chocolate brown, American, and a Customs Broker. I love to listen to Radiohead when I smoke weed, or on the rare occasion I’m drunk, or when I have a lot of work to do. There’s a Radiohead album or two for each occasion. 😁
Throwing in my suggestion for the In Rainbows from the Basement live show (you should devote a whole video to this fr), Reckoner, How to Disappear Completely, and Street Spirit (Fade Out).
Live from the basement is amazing!
I'm a welder and I find Radiohead is the perfect music to zone out and lay beads to all day. Some tracks you've got to check out are How to Disappear Completely, and Fake Plastic Trees
Radiohead is life. They have a song for every mood. This song is a dark mood for me but its still in my top radiohead 5 tracks. Guitars and vocals just hit so damn hard. These lyrics are brutal too... So many feels in one song
I think you could go down a big rabbit hole with Radiohead. I feel they are similar to Tool as far as musicianship and creative dominance. Kid A and Amnesiac may be 2 of the best albums ever made. I'm going to buy you a Radiohead coffee Polo. Cheers Man. Love the content.
What is it do you think? Art vs. Product type of music was one way I put it to something who didn't know why TOOL and Radiohead were so different from everything they'd ever heard.
Don’t buy into the notion that Radiohead fans are all sadbois. I’ve met a lot of people that have a deep appreciation for life and are hype on Radiohead.
I am one of them . I live Radiohead and I appreciate their music . I’m not sad at all 😊
This is my 67th favorite Radiohead song. I'm serious and a little weird.
It is somewhere in that neighborhood for me as well I must be weird too.
Their discography is probably one of the most consistent, so many great songs.
Radiohead is definitely top 5. Right up there with Tool. You have to check out Nude or Weird Fishes "From the Basement" versions, top tier Radiohead in my opinion. Love your videos, keep up the great work Polo!
Currently have How to Disappear Completely stuck in my head too.
@@Kenobi_Cowboy Yessss! One of my favorites... So haunting. Love that bassline!
Lazy weekend, raining, lightly, having a bowl and checking out the neighborhood at about 20mph
more Radiohead please! They’re in my top three bands.

Pure Massacre
Song by Silverchair
IMHO... Radiohead is the only peer that TOOL has to contend with... ✌️💙
Completely agree. It’s not the comparison I hear very often because their sounds are so different, but the quality of their composition is 1a 1b of the bands from the 90s.
I much prefer them (though when younger I liked Tool and it's bombasticness). Radiohead offer dense melodic changes etc... Tool more dynamics and riffs/drums (Radiohead has that too of course but it's feminine and not so in your face).
People who listen to Radiohead. A lot of the people that I know that love Radiohead are musicians and artists or people that are have a greater appreciation of art and music on a more than casual level.
Yes! On point
I'd love for you to react to "Reckoner" Live From the Basement (In Rainbows). It's absolutely beautiful!
Hail to the thief album is next level imo. I look forward to you checking that out
Its the unsung hero of radiohead albums. Rediscovered it recently and its bloody good.
The Radiohead fans are toying with you!! The requests I have seen are all for the less-known, harder-to-listen-to tracks. And I get it! As a fan, I also have my personal favorites. but..:) For a new fan I would suggest to start at the beginning and check "Just" from the Bends album and them "Airbag" from OK computer and then Idioteque from Kid A.. and you will get why we consider tjhem one of the best bands ever. How they reinvent themselves each time and experiment. I took the journey with them and it is unlike any other band..
Good call
Great song... but an obscure one. Radiohead have such interesting chord changes... they take the songs places you wouldn't expect. It's all a little awkward and anxious, but still ends up beautiful. Wish you'd try something from In Rainbows... maybe "Reckoner"
I love your energy and sincerity. You seem like SUCH a sweet, lowkey person 💜
How to Disappear Completely is the lead singers fav song. Cant go wrong. Cheers 🍻
The music video was directed by Michel Gondry. He went on to direct Jim Carrey in Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind (one of my top 5 favorite movies). Then Dave Chappells's Block Party. And has done countless music videos over his career. Be Kind Rewind is one my favorite movies of his.
Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind is one of my favorite movies ever. The writing, the directing, the acting, (I honestly feel Jim Carrey was Oscar worthy in the role.) The casting, (obviously as well.) I just think it's a near perfect movie. Second only, (in my humble opinion); to American Beauty which is my all time favorite.
Speaking of Michel Gondry; you should check out the movie: "The Science of Sleep." More than likely you have; but just in case you hadn't.
Foo Fighter's "Everlong" is another classic of his. What a talent.
I regard myself as a metalhead, but in reality I enjoy all music that is well produced and when you can tell some thought went into it.
While tool is borderline religious to me (and I'm scandinavian, so that says a lot), Radiohead played a huge role for me as a teen. I'm now 40, so it's been a while. But My Iron Lung, OK Computer, and Kid A still has a strong hold in the spotify playlist. Right next to everything tool.
I love how Radiohead was constantly evolving. They _never_ wanted to do the same thing twice and the progression on those 3 albums is crazy.
My favorite Radiohead songs are "Exit music (for a film)" and "National Anthem"
Given your love for Tool and Pink Floyd, i don't think it's a stretch to imagine Radiohead eventually teasing your #1 slot. It's a bit of an acquired taste, but so are Tool and Pink Floyd. Good Luck on your journey I'd recommend. Jigsaw Falling Into Place next. Same feel, but musically more intricate
I'm so excited that you're getting into Radiohead, it does my heart good 💜 More more 💜
This is one of the best songs in the world!
Im a 68 yo grandma, who loves Radiohead, Tool, Puscifer, Led Zep, Black Sabbath, Pink Floyd, Dire Straits, The Who, The Beatles Genesis, Peter Gabriel, Marillion and Yes. Mark Knopfler is my favorite guitarist. Liberal. Retired RN. That is who listens to Radiohead.
Ditto to the request for the From the Basement performances. The song Nude from this session has become my favorite video performance. #2 on my list is the Dresden Dolls performing their live version of Good Day. Thanks for exploring the diversity of music. NOBODY ELSE has dared to feature the Dresden Dolls yet. Enjoy.
Love your channel
I bought their first 3 albums on cd in the airport on my way to Goa in India , each morning I would watch the sun come up over the fields as the farmers were drifting away to avoid the coming sun , I’d be smoking charras , watching sea eagles rise on thermals , the sunshine revealing goats still asleep in the trees , the restaurant waiters Rag âne Surag would join me with coffee , rôle two joints hand me one and smoke theirs, no words as they smoked just quiet companionship. Two men with less than me who we all could learn from as they worked for their families . So Radiohead is engrained in my memories ❤
Please, please check out their songs All I Need, Let Down, and anything from the Live from the Basement performance
Great Video, Thank You ❤
I love music and have been a fan since Pablo Honey. They are a permanent top 10.
The ultimate form of art in music here.
My favorite songs of all time . Played 320 days out of the year
This song uplifts me. Makes me dance . I love Radiohead
I watched a video of Radiohead recording In Rainbows. Afterwards I researched everything they had ever done. Their melodies were running through my head. That was the last time I was so very excited about music until my recent introduction to Tool.
Whenever I get super depressed, Radiohead is a go-to for me. They have a bittersweet melencholic vibe that gently nudges me back into being hopeful, then grateful.
I sit and draw like crazy..... for like hours
This channel needs more Radiohead 👌🏻
Spirit of Radio-" Begin your day with a friendly voice, a companion unobtrusive! This is my theme song- and it is your voice that makes my Morning MOVE!!!
It was the 90s and 2000s. We had it good, great hip hop, indie, folk, electronic, all of it. Such an innovative time for music.
Hey Polo. Check out Radiohead's Man of War, Karma Police, Fake Plastic Trees, Creep, All I Need, Black Star, Street Spirt, How to disappear completely..... Shit just listen to all of it. Can't go wrong.
The stereotypical Radiohead fan was a gifted student in school, and found real life not what was promised.
Instant memories 😢

My favorite band of all time dude. They are simply amazing! Nobody like them.
Polo check “Paranoid Android” and the obvious one, the breakthrough song “Creep”, both studio version….and then “Karma Police” & “National Anthem”…. I’m afraid this is going to be a long journey Polo. ❤
My musical favorites, when living and experiencing the music in the same decades were: 80s Pink Floyd, 90s Chris Cornell (Soundgarden) + Radiohead, 2000s Tool, 2010s still Tool, and Karnivool (try the track "Change" - there is even a drum play-through by a guy, not band-member- that is very cool @preisseldrums ). .
I really enjoy your videos. And you got to keep that great machine in the back round. I hope, hope, hope you get to listen to Wolf At The Door and House of Cards. Two of my favorite Radiohead songs
Simon and Garfunkel is a duo - Paul Simon and Art Garfunkel... Paul Simon is also an established solo artist since the duo split in 1970, but have occasionally worked together since...
Radiohead- everything In its right place
This one’s always nice
Radiohead makes me want to get lost in deep thought. Ok well it MAKES ME get lost in deep thought.
Tool and Radiohead are my fave bands of all time. Keep Striving1
Savage track.
When people listen to Radiohead... all their stuff is different, but Kid A and Amnesiac were recorded at the same time and it was a dramatic shift in what they sounded like...
try 'myxomatosis' next; preferably from the basement series
dreamlike song, whit in the clip the beautiful Emma de caunes , french actress
Kudos for being probably the only reactor to realise that Radiohead has more songs than just ‘Creep’ (which in itself is not very representative at all). For that reason alone, you have made a subscriber out of me. :)
You gotta do weird Fishes, both the album and the basement version
Another band that each album is a different journey, with some songs that only fit within the context of the songs surrounding it. Zone out. Smoke trees.
If you want to be impressed with Radiohead, check out anything from the basement
Radiohead, Tool & Queens Of The Stone Age, Deftones and The Beatles are my top five fav bands of all time. Polo, please take a listen to Everything In It's Right Place & Lucky. These are two of my favorite songs by Radiohead and I think you'll dig em' too. Gonna be seeing Tool, QOTSA, Foo Fighters & Deftones live at the Sonic Temple Art & Music Fest on the 25th - 28 in Columbus Ohio. Thought I heard you mention you're in Ohio. I highly recommend you get tickets to see these bands if you haven't already. There may never be another time to see all these amazing bands at one festival ever again. I feel like it might be a once in a lifetime chance so nothing can stop me from being there!! Lol. It's going to be at Crew Stadium. My house is 20 minuets from there! It's gonna be one hellofa weekend. Hope you get the chance to go. Peace ✌
Yep in the 4 runner TRD pro...
Listening to Radiohead makes me wanna hug Jim Jones.
Happy early TOOL's Day everyone. I hope you have some good tacos nearby for whatever Polo offers us tomorrow..
This video reminds me of staying at my mom’s bedside as she was having heart problems and we didn’t know what was happening. I felt like my feet were on fire I wanted to fix it so badly, and she was stuck on a bed as they tried different and painful treatments. It saved her but awful to watch.
And expensive here in US.
I have another Pink Floyd song to request. One of my all-time favorites. …Learning to Fly.
I am a Patreon of yours. 🫡✊️
Just do the entire OK Computer album. I’m here because I loved your Tool reactions. Tool is my favorite band but Radiohead is the band that has my favorite album. That’s all you get. you’re welcome ✌️
Listen to paranoid android live on jools Holland show. Mind blowing performance.
Please check out Mazzy Star 'Fade into you' and anything else. Slow, mournful, and right up your alley I think.
I think you should check out Just By Radiohead. Its one of their more popular tracks and its very energetic and establishes a more “post-grunge” sound.
It's an interesting topic you brought up... when I listen to Radiohead I want to be moody and introspective, so in your example I'd be in the hoody listening through headphones in a corner away from everyone.
Brilliant band. May I please request you to listen to a song of a forgotten band called Blind Melon - Rain
I suggest sail to the moon. Its one of their best songs imo
One of my fav Radiohead songs. You should listen to National Anthem by them
Check out “pop is dead” next. Nice contrast 😂
You have to listen to at least a couple tracks from all their albums… cuz they’re all SO different.
Give bulletproof or how to disappear completely a try by Radiohead
For me I listen to Radiohead because I bottle up my emotions and they are the cathartic outlet I use to keep the emotions in check.
I would love you to consider Mission of Burma. Our beloved band from Boston. Influenced and covered by many bands. That's When I Reached for my Revolver, Train, Trem II, just pick one. Check wiki 'Many bands and musicians have cited Burma as an inspiration, including Pearl Jam,[27] Foo Fighters,[28] Superchunk, Jawbox, The Grifters,[29] The Replacements,[5] Thurston Moore,[30] Drive Like Jehu,[31] Throwing Muses,[32] Yo La Tengo,[33] Pixies,[34] Hüsker Dü,[35] Guided by Voices, Big Black,[35] Fugazi and Unwound.[36] I hope you will listen even if you don't review. TY
Polo we have the same taste in music. My favorites are Tool Pink Floyd and Radiohead
"..and now for something completely different". Big fan of your channel Polo, binging all your videos for weeks now.l Love your choice of music. I can tell you're a melomaniac like myself, you do not just “enjoy” ALL genre of music, you just feel it. I'd love to hear your thoughts when listening. and because it is a concert recording, watching Bob Marley & The Wailers 'Lively Up Yourself' (Live at The Rainbow Theatre, London 1977) ruclips.net/video/GxeAc6tqWDA/видео.html Thanks Polo, keep up the good work. I'm off to binge some of your awesome genuine responses. From the Netherlands I wish you good health, Cheers. Edward.
Please do more radiohead!
Consider what Thom is saying. He’s the mouse, the Industry says throw him in the pot. A lot of the lyrics are very personal.
This is Radiohead trying to sound like The Smiths. They were listening to a lot of Smiths while recording this album.
Please watch Fake Plastic Trees. Makes me feel good but sad at the same time, if that makes sense. But it’s epic.
Massive Attack and Björk made similar music videos in the 90s
It’s TooLsDAY
Hey POLO, did you serve in the US Navy?
Check out the Radiohead song Decks Dark.
What kind of Radiohead listener am I? Well, in my CD collection reside two CDs from Tool. I have four CDs from Radiohead. Not sure if that means anything, but I really like Radiohead and can listen to them anywhere, pretty much any time and not worry about offending anyone with it.
Polo check out Holier by Crosses. I guarantee you'll dig it. Playlist material
Have you heard: SPECTRE from Radiohead, yet??! 😊
What kind of ppl. Your ppl. If it’s good it’s good. No lanes on this freeway. Only forward.
