I have very few IVA issues. My KCB has 2,161,910 miles and just got its 2nd overhaul. 1st went 1,015,038. This time the engine was running great. No oil consumption. Oil analysis indicated coolant in oil. We found the head gasket to be leaking and #6 liner O-rings looking bad.

What's Cats reasoning for not having the o-rings come with a new IVA? Just seems to repeat nearly the same problem where it will leak if one doesn't know or realize that you have to pull the old o-ring and transfer it over.

Good find eagle eye. A lot of times, when the IVA solenoid is replaced. They don't clean out the IVA as per the instructions. Also be careful on BXS engines. They have a plate under the solenoid. You cannot buy it separately, seen them stick to the old solenoid and get turned back in on a core. Anytime I do a over head, I replace the seals. 13 or 15 liter engine. Also on BXS, Cat changed the IVA oil PSI sensor and you have to purchase a harness splice. Have had a few that the IVA's was deleted and when you reactivate them. You can wake Frankenstein up. KCB's has two seals, depends on serial number and oil psi sensor as well. One weak spot is the connector. They get loose and causes an open circuit. Cat has a splice harness you can purchase. But I dislike it, as I hate cutting wires. You cut them to short or to long. So I remove the old connector and leave the original sockets on the wires. If the socket looks good, I re spring it. Take the splice harness and remove the connector off the wires and install the connector back on the original wires.

Any chance you wanna help me out.
Having the same code but here i dont have a visual oil leak.
Someone had already installed a new oil pressure sensor, injector harness.
Im doing the t/s for code 289-7 and step 8 is to do cylinder cutout but it keeps failing when its at the “second cycle” test aborts when cutting cylinder 2 for “significant change in engine load”. I made sure ac was not running. Idk what could it be.. its driving me crazy.
I already installed a analog oil pressure gauge at the block and compared it to ET and it displays the same.
Oil pressure 30 psi at 600 rpm 170 coolant temp.
I ran overhead previously to do auto cylinder cutout test. Im thinking i didnt do a good job adjusting the IVA’s on the first bank.
Also engine smokes like blueish smells a lot like diesel.
Initial code was 0385-1. But then 289-7 and 290-7 appeared after i adjusted valves.

Is it possible to swap the IVAs on a IVA deleted single turbo converted 06 MSX, with the Jake's off a MBN ? While using the original MSX harness and re flashed ECM to work with that single turbo setup ?
I bought a 2006 MSX single turbo conversion a complete engine after my MBN bottom end failed after 1.5 million miles, I would prefer to install my MBN jakes but would I have to swap MBN harness and ECM round off the MBN and install that on the MSX ?
According to the engine supplier of the MSX the IVA,S are out of the equation via the custom turbo reflash, from what I've been advised they are part of the Jake's , would it be best to keep those IVA Jake's if the IVA function is not used or install non IVA Jake's off the MBN ?
    Thanks rich.
