One time when I was a kid it was 3AM I went and turned down the AC. It was down the hall from my parents room but I didn’t make not even the smallest bit of noise because not even my dog heard me or she would have been barking like a mf. The fan pulls the cooler air from behind it. Also why you shouldn’t put a fan against a wall, or you should place it in the door way facing the hotter room if you want to be most effective.

Not sure how everyone else grew up but we was broke. I had a box fan in the window and a water bottle to spray myself. Sometimes even a wet rag to wipe my body to keep cool. The heat didn’t bother my dad since he was a welder. This would go on until my mom couldn’t take it. I’d come home from school, blinds and curtains down. Doors closed and towels blocking the bottom of those doors. If you opened the door you better close is fast and don’t forget the towel 😅
