Airbus and many other jet programs have UK government shareholding. I can go on, but you get the gist. That said, they are a declining power and India does have the ability to become a defence superpower.
Atharv - Mughals and other Islamic invaders did plunder our resources, but in a different way from the British. The Brits stole our money and resources, invested them in the UK to build institutions and resources. The Islamic invaders stole the money from a thriving Indian society and kept it for their own sake. So, people became poor but rulers wealthy. Another point worth mentioning is the Islamic invaders constantly kept batting with forces within and outside of India, which drained a lot of their ill-gotten wealth. @@akshitdadhwal The UK does have a great defence industry. Most fighter planes use Rolls Royce engines. 95% ejection seats in planes are made by the British. Airbus and many other jet programs have UK government shareholding. I can go on, but you get the gist.
That said, they are a declining power and India does have the ability to become a defence superpower.
Atharv - Mughals and other Islamic invaders did plunder our resources, but in a different way from the British. The Brits stole our money and resources, invested them in the UK to build institutions and resources.
The Islamic invaders stole the money from a thriving Indian society and kept it for their own sake. So, people became poor but rulers wealthy.
Another point worth mentioning is the Islamic invaders constantly kept batting with forces within and outside of India, which drained a lot of their ill-gotten wealth. The Brits, on the other hand, had a near-monopoly in India once they defeated the Marathas in 1818. They just built their empire and institutions in India, appointed Indian sepoys and kept sucking wealth out of India for the next 150 years with little opposition. So, they were more effective than the Islamic invaders in plundering our ancient wealth and knowledge.
