this was very helpful! I just started pitching in fallball and now summerball evaluation is coming up and I don't have a change up yet. thanks for this, I hope I can get it down in time for tryouts 😬🙏
Jillian, you are an excellent educator too! Great job explaining the push out, past the hips, with no whip. I am helping a 12U traveling team transition. I am going to have the less experienced, hello elbow pitchers, learn and practice this pitch as a way to introduce them to the new wind up. I mean, we all want a killer change up, right?! Either way, I love the whip pitch. I am an old hello elbow pitcher and I haven't fastpitched in years. So, as a pitching coach, I have been learning the whip pitch with the girls. And, my arm loves it. My shoulder doesn't hurt from it. One of my girls on the team already is starting to feel shoulder pain from her hello elbow pitches. So, keeping the girls healthy and getting a faster pitch from them makes me so happy. TY for all the amazing videos. I look forward to more!
The one pitch my daughters pitching coach had all wrong. He stressed about slowing the arm down when throwing the change. Never made sense to me but I didn’t know any better either. This instruction seems much easier
Hello. Thank you for your videos and great explanations. It would be good to see at the same time of your pitch how the ball arrives at the marble plate, in order to see the effect :-)
My daughter throws a knuckle change. We feel there is not a lot of speed difference. Maybe 5 mph I am thinking another change will be a greater difference. What will be the best change to use? Circle? Horseshoe?
