Sameee - but I do weight workouts and it hasn't changed over the span of two / three months. My throw is mediumish but my positions require me to throw harder so I do think it's technique...
Taylor T same, I played softball for a while and took a break. I’m starting fast pitch now and I get embarrassed when I can’t throw as well as the other girls.
Thanks for that tip about turning your palm away from you when you load up to throw. I had been keeping my palm forward and kept getting tricep pain. I turned it away during my catch session today and no more pain in my arm!
these videos will go a long way in helping you girls with proper technique, watch them and learn from them, and then bring it to the practice field. Coach Jeff
if i may i have a young girl I'm trying to teach, she is 10yrs and inn worried she is going to be blown out the water at organized sports. She has never as so much as picked up a bat before. Any advice would be much appreciated.
Kyle Jose 10 might sound like kind of a late start, but it's more about dedication than time. I think I was about the same age when I started. As long as she is passionate about wanting to improve and puts the time and effort in to do so, she should excel. The best thing you can do to help her is to support her and maybe help her out with a few drills (many can be found on RUclips, but don't push her too hard with the advanced ones until she gets the fundamentals down). Mainly practice. practice. practice. practice. Don't force or pressure her to though as it might turn her away from the sport, but encouraging reminders are helpful. Hope this helps!
and don't forget to stay kinda low not like your kneeling and not stand straight up but you need to be lower when throwing that ball from 3rd short to first base
This was a good demonstration...not always the case in other videos...videos that do NOT show the feet at a 45° angle ir do Not stress having the ball facing Down out of the glove and throughout the process are terrible....and there are several of these floating around Also not overemphasizing bringing the glove into your body on the follow thru is good. Another well viewed video emphasizes "tucking the glove in"...totally wrong. Nice job...😂
Hay..i play softball too... but i dont really understand why some of you guys bend your body over so much when you finish your throws? could someone explain to me? my coach had corrected us to not bend over as our CG (center of gravity) will be off and hence, we would be unbalanced
You want to follow through on the throw. Stopping your arm places unnecessary strain on it. You might not care now, but you will by the time you're 30.
With a three finger grip the thumb should be on the bottom of the ball under the middle finger. With a two finger grip the thumb should be on the bottom of the ball and splitting the index and middle finger.
I'm sorry I'm just getting to this but I would have loved to answer this question. The most important thing you need to know is be confident. Even though you don't know anything you should always be down and ready before every play and be very aggressive in whatever you do. Even if you throw it to First and completely missed it by mile if you look like you really trying then someone will help you and you will be the greatest softball player you can be just because you are looking like you really really want to be the best
I'm no physicist but when a ball spins it breaks the wind more. In baseball when you throw a knuckleball the object is to have no Spin and the ball seems to be floating uncontrollably in the air
I've been playing softball for 5 years and this is the best advice and lesson I've ever gotten!!!
I love When you have time to actually make sure you're gripping the ball at a C position
I get embarrassed bc I can’t throw very well. Is it bc I don’t have enough muscle and power or is it bc of my technique?
Taylor T same here, but it may be that you just need to work on your technique and just practice it, thats what I think I need to do as well
I firmly believe it's technique because I have a 10 year old and 11 year old that has done 1,000 push-ups in 10 days and they're throwing is mediocre

Here during the pandemic trying to help teach my grade 4 son how to throw softball. Thanks! It's way more complicated than I expected.
I’m bad at throwing & batting, however I am good at catching. And thank you for showing me new this technique, now I am better than ever.

Show to Screen Queensland crew for how to throw a softball or a baseball like Erdrea.
More spin = higher velocity? How does this work physically?
I'm no physicist but when a ball spins it breaks the wind more. In baseball when you throw a knuckleball the object is to have no Spin and the ball seems to be floating uncontrollably in the air
