This is an excellent video. (They're all useful and/or entertaining, but *this* is what I haven't seen much of to date.) Specific mechanic focus: depth, breadth, faction-specific cases. It doesn't take a ton of youtube to pick up on the notion of 'charging to block shooting/avoid being shot', but this really plumbs the nuances of the concept!
Somehow block-charging sounds more intuitive to me. Charge blocking made me think of removing charge opportunities from my opponent - which seems an important topic, too.
Great video, thanks. I’ve used this a few times to keep an operative alive after they’ve shot. Really good to do against an operative that has already been activated as it leaves you invalid as a target until the next TP. BUT when I do it, I tend to lose initiative next turn, because my dice hate me!
Charge blocking and injuring someone to the point of only 1-2 wounds is also great for some tac ops too when you want to score a tac op next round like "eliminate guard"
I use this a lot vs big guns, in our FLGS we call this a "Hostage Situation" or "Clinching" (for boxing fans out there) like we call shooting within 2" as "Point Blank" (our local players like to give silly names). carry on with the good stuff
Broadly speaking, I've seen my friend have success with Pathfinders in ITD with: 1) Use your insane mobility to get into rooms first/get early control of objectives, 2) When they come into room, they get obliterated by your overwatch.
Fantastic video! Never thought about it as a sort of tech, just something I would do if the opportunity presented itself. Sharing this in my local discords. Gonna half the sweatiest local meta soon! 🤣
Cool video, thanks! Have done so a few times without really knowing :) Any thoughts on how to prevent being charge-blocked or, for that matter, what to do if you are already there?
@CanYouRollaCrit sorry.. wording - i mean its a legal move to charge into multiple enemies and all of them are trapped in meele Combat? Thx 4 your fast answers. I'm a German 😂
good advice. alternative name I've heard for this is "tactical hug". but it's more about charging and NOT fighting, ofc
A more friendly name haha
Really like your tactica vids, please keep them coming, KT is such a deep game, this kind of tech discussion is very welcome to my casual play group.
Thanks, yeah there's so much I still have left to talk about aha

Ah thanks, that's basically what I was going for aha
coming back to this cuz im having some troubles running fellgor ravagers and getting frenzied too early. thanks as usual for the great insights!
No worries, they're great at charge blocking! Really makes them super strong
Dude this rocked. Thank you. It also makes me think of the HotA chains for folks that try and fallback and other things like that.
They're nice but only if the AP wasn't refunded ):

Ah I cover that in the video when charge blocking melee operatives
@@CanYouRollaCrit Oh sweet, will check that out right away! This one was really helpful as well, though, so thanks a bunch
I've never ever thought about using charge in such a way tbh. Great video!
It can be *really* frustrating!
Thanks, yeah it's very versatile!
Awesome video. A new player so looking for all the help I can get atm! Up the Exaction Squad!
Haha thanks, that's great to hear

Aha such is the fickle way of dice 😂😭

Yup, that's what I do a lot now too!

Oooh nice, I love the names haha!
Great vid! Would love to see a guide on shooting teams on ITD, I’ve been having a lot of trouble with my Pathfinders into melee teams with ITD boards.
Thanks! Maybe, need to get more reps in for ITD first (:

No worries, glad it helped (:

great video given me some things to think about!
Thanks, that's great to hear (:
I like these videos. 👍 And I would like to see more. Also faction tips and tricks.
Dunno if I'll do it for individual factions but more tacticas will come (:
Nice video, would be interested to see what other neat tricks you could videos on too
Aha if people like this, I have a lot more to show off 😎
Cool video, thanks! Have done so a few times without really knowing :)

Ah kinda hard to deal with once you're there. Either fight all fall back if possible
You can always get an extra APL with a comms operative and disengage and then shoot. Great video tho!
Yeah but not every team has a comms and it won't help if they're already activated
Hi nice insight as usual, can you confirm that the Arbites passive disprupt this technique ? cheers
Yeah they basically get around it due to their faction ability
@@CanYouRollaCrit Ah ah i just fully understand that passive thx to you xD so do you think the 4 subductors set up is the way actually ?
This technique is basically the whole game with exaction squad.
Kinda 🤣
Nice!
Thanks!
This seems extremely broken with Exaction Squad and their passive ability to shoot through an engaged ally.
Yup but that's like their only strength 😅🤣
So it is a legal move to Dash into 2 enemies and both of them are trapped in the meele Combat?
You can't dash into combat
@@CanYouRollaCrit then i dont understand 7:27 :/
I never said dash into combat there? It was with a charge
