- So we are all hype for Street Fighter 6 season 2, I cant stop thinking about it personally. I had a thought to an event going back 4 years ago now and the past may just illuminate the future when it comes to Season 2 of SF6!

Man talking more about Season 2 of SF6? I know I can't help it, im excited I guess! That said though there was event about 4 years ago now that may actually give insight into whats coming up for SF6. Obviously there will be a title change with new adjectives, we all know it, but it might be coming sooner than you think... watch the vid and find out! (and leave a like why not!?)

SF6 is really missing an absurdly expensive, "we absolutely lost money making that" CGI opening. I think they need to make one at the end of Season 2.

I wonder if the arcade release uses the opening for WT Mode as its attract video then?
Because that’s why we even had “opening” videos in home release video games to begin with, because they were originally just attract modes made to draw attention in arcades, so for home console games they were partly a vestigial carry over, and partly to be eye catching on in-store demo kiosks.
That’s why they are so rare now, because neither arcades nor demo kiosks are the norm anymore. That said, if we DO get a true “Super” update for SF6, the arcade version is gonna need a marketing upgrade as well, in which case I wouldn’t rule out a proper bespoke attract mode style opening CG video

To me is kind of lazy if that was true because that intro of world tour is very cheap if you ask me even if the drawing looks incredible. But if street fighter 6 want to keep the game fresh for 6 years in a row like sfv then they should’ve make a cinematic opening of the whole game
I'm basically convinced that SF6 season 2 isn't just gonna be new characters, its gonna add to WT mode, and possibly even more
Its the only reason why I think they'd commit to only 4 characters for season 1 and no year one balance changes. The game we're playing now is essentially a beta for what it will wind up looking like down the road

@@alexspyro563 There are some odd roadblocks in certain areas currently so they definitely have a map expansion in the works.

SFV:AE & CE went by the internal names of Super & Ultra SFV respectively, so they’re probably along the lines of AE & CE.
I doubt they'll use the name "Arcade Edition" since they already have arcade mode in SF6 but yeah it's likely they'll add something to the title
That being said though, since SF6 at launch already has most of the features that SF5:AE added, I'm curious and excited to see what they have planned next.

@@tiguilherman_plays Well SSF4 also had an Arcade Edition but they just named it that because they added the characters that were formerly exclusive to the arcade version. As far as I know SF6 doesn't have any content exclusive to the arcade version if there even is one.

Like you said in the video, IF the plan is still to make season 2 of SF6 Super Street Fighter 6, then they gotta make the new product worth the price of admission. Outside of including all of the season 1 DLC characters, they gotta throw in all of the characters outfits(including the DLC characters), the DLC stages, an expansion of some sort for World Tour mode, along with balance changes just to name a few. Also, I think new boxart would be great idea as well.
With MTXS, it erotic take way more than that to make it worth it. The whole reason why MTXS are acceptable at all its bevause it supports ongoing development. They would not be selling a new version of SF6 even if costumes carry over, it souls just be one long patch considering how little gameplay changes actually came in during SF6s lifetime. I will not be buying a SSF6.
I can't wait to see what comes next but as always folks, manage your hype and don't set unrealistic expectations for yourself or the game.

I'd actually forgot about the leaks. COVID hit Japanese developers the hardest. "Work from home" seemed to take a while for them to get the hang of. So of course the dates got pushed back.
Why would COVID affect them more than anyone else?

@@huffindoback3776Working at home in Japan wasn't a thing. So it took them longer to adjust to that option. Working from home in the US was a thing long before COVID.
One of my co-workers in 2012, left our company to take a similar position that allowed him to work from home. My company swapped out or desktops for laptops in 2017 so that we'd be able to work from home if called for. When COVID hit, it was pretty easy for us to shift to a work from home model. Since we'd already been doing it for inclimate weather and the like.

This ties in with the idea that the developers didn't really want to do any significant patches between seasons- they want there to be a clear & concise version of SF6, SF6 super etc much like with SF2 or SF3
I think it’s too soon for a “Super” re-brand. I’d rather them give us a few more characters, new costumes, and BRAND NEW STAGES. Because honestly, looking at SF5 stages makes me feel like they’re dropping the ball in that dept. also, if they move THAT fast with Super and Ultra, I think it lowers the shelf life of the game at this point. The industry has changed the last few years

I don't know if it's season2, but I'm expecting a story mode. A *proper* story mode. One that has the character moving the story of themselves. Not playing bit parts in the player's story. They do have their own things going on, and World Tour is not progressing the actual plot. I also expect it to come out similarly to the time when Bison does. And is Bison S2 or S3? Who knows. But it's one of those two. And he'll be in the story mode.
Honestly I hope the new editions that come with Season 2, are what you said in the wishlist video, in terms of content. I love World Tour, I have maxed out every mentor and close to level 99. So it would be nice that they make a 2nd story mode or like do what SFV did, where they had like Boss versions of regular characters (Ex. ShadowLady and Master Ryu) and you fight that. But for sure, super excited for more STREETSSSSS

Honestly love SF6 and while i want the balance patch to spice it up, I'm grateful the game has been in pretty good state since launch no character has ruined my experience (platinum to diamond rank). I honestly I want more skins and a juke box mode with classic music more than anything and obviously more fighters, bring back Fei long!

I think it will have a huge update. I think season 1 was carefully planned out with content cause they were unsure of the new risky shift SF6 was taking. I think instead of rushing this year with new content since theyve made good sales they will add much more than usual for season 2
I personally hope they don't waste any more dev time on world tour, like it was a fun mode but they've added so little to the rest of the game in the past year I want actual new content not world tour or avatar costume stuff.

The leaks, both the 2020 leak, and the later roster leak make we wonder if Street Fighter 6 wasn’t pushed out early and the DLC characters they’ve been doing weren’t meant to be part of the original roster. Pre COVID CAPCOM was look to release SF6 in 2022 (it ended up coming out in 2023) alongside Resident Evil 4 remake and Dragon’s Dogma 2. In fact Dragon’s Dogma 2, which just came out three weeks ago, was set to be the first of those three games to come. If this first batch of DLC characters were originally meant to be in the base game (and outside of Akuma, they’re all pretty weird picks for paid DLC) I wonder how far the plans for SF6 go now, but they were looking at at least two updates sometime pre COVID in either 2019 or early 2020.
Most everything up to Monster Hunter 6 on the leak list seems to have been announced. The “SHIELD” game also had a description in another leak, and the description matches EXOPRIMAL. REGOLITH would seem to be (the three times delayed) PRAGMATA. It’s possible the ONIMUSHA NEW WORK title ended up becoming that KUNITSU-GAMI: PATH OF THE GODDESS tower defense game; given the dates of the other stuff it’d line up that it just became something else, and if it was going to be Onimusha Tower Defense it kind of makes sense to just make it something else at this point. There hasn’t been anything that lines up with MEGAMAN TAISEN though...which sounds like some kind of fighting game.

That might be our secondary fighter similar to how they had stuff like MvC3 or SFxT back then.
Elena will be a playable character. She will have Green Hand and whenever she uses it, she'll heal to full and gain a full screen command grab.
Haven't even watched the video yet and I gots to like just for Funky Kong mode. Gave me a good chuckle.

I think SF6 is doing well enough that they won’t feel the need for a relaunch just yet. I’d guess we will get a standard season 2 release schedule of 4 more characters, and maybe a relaunch of something like SSF6 for season 3.
Correct me if I’m wrong but I think SF5 was doing pretty badly at a similar stage in its early life cycle (by comparison) and they almost needed the relaunch to try and rebuild the game’s reputation?
Also I think having to do the world tour mode content for each new character is surely going to slow the general release schedule down unfortunately.
Just my thoughts. When comparing Street Fighter 2.4.6 to Street Fighter 1.3.5, the Street Fighter series has the jinx of having popularity based on the odds of an even number.
Anecdotal, but I've never played an odd-numbered Street Fighter. I'm thinking of skipping Street Fighter 7 just for the hell of it.

after dealing with the other big fighting games having some. . . interesting couple of months with balancing and patches (to say the very least); I continue to appreciate the more reserved approach SF6 took to how it handled balance for the game as a whole. While I dislike how it handled costumes (for avatars and the main cast), the slow dishing out of season 1 characters, some characters being just not good at all, and all battle passes can f*ck right off. . . I gotta admit, knowing that things are both set, and people were able to figure stuff out well into the end of season 2 has been a refreshing experience to both play and watch.
I don't want to get my expectations too high for season 2; but I am hoping for some more single player content in world tour, especially since they put in the effort for each new character being a master, and having full conversations and lore dumps.
Just excited for the game to get freshened up, they’ve been drip feeding us content so Season 2 being big would be great.
I hope more characters come. I go back to five here and there just for the bigger cast
I dunno about getting a new iteration just yet. I think it'll be next year for a new iteration that includes season 1+2 DLC and Akuma on the cover. I think everything from that leak just got pushed back just like the game itself. Especially since Nintendo's next console is also delayed.
Most likely Season 2 just releases as Season 2 then down the road a collection of all the DLC will be dubbed “Super.” If anything Capcom will expand the World Tour mode before really diving into gameplay changes.
Way to amp up the hype,...now I can only be disappointed with what we'll actually get, thanks a lot! ^^

I think you may be right, mostly because of optimism. I think the game requires a big big drop of content in S2 because releasing a game that is 2D, with 18 base characters and then rrreeeeeeaaalllllyyy slowly releasing another 4 at super unspecified intervals, and only 1 of them is actually a fan favourite, is just not good enough. Likewise, ZERO announcements for S2 up to this point is also simply inadequate. I mean, they haven't even done a decent job with skins, just that one dump of them and no theme, no cohesion, patchy quality. Boy. Game is pretty fun but yeah, wow. 1st year was not lit at all content-wise imo (though obviously day 1 SF6 still way better than SF5 after its first 365 days 😂).

Whatever they wanna call it, just give us some 3rd Strike characters *please* Capcom. Dudley, Ibuki, Hugo, Sean, they're so cool... hell bring back the ones no one even asks for like Remy and Necro and make them cool if you really want, just give us SOME representation.

Give World Tour an actual ending please. The way it ends now with JP basically laughing at how useless you are and then everyone shrugging and moving on like nothing happened is such a wet fart of an ending.

@@drkillenger5564 I'm not trying to make excuses for them, but they couldn't give World Tour a proper ending and still have JP be available as a master. It's stupid and nonsensical that you would even WANT him to be your master at that point, but there's really no other way to work around it with him being the villain. I think the only way World Tour gets a proper ending is if we end up fighting an unplayable boss character.

With the rebranding being very likely, that would explain why Nakayama and the team would be conservative in updating with balance patches and the like. It’s to invoke those early days of street fighter arcades where rebrands are when the balance updates came along.
I say this sparingly because of things like character passes and hotfixes.
That new final fight I’ve been waiting for years, I bet Capcoms been waiting since Streets of Rage & Ninja Turtles made a big comeback to see if beat em ups still have a future
I just hope for a World Tour story addition that actually, ya know, has a story. Anything that has these characters actually interact with each other and moves the Street Fighter lore forward

A Nintendo Switch version would be nice. Not for online experience of course, but just to have a side screen for training when the TV is occupied at home.
The idea valid considering we haven’t gotten really any balance changes or content drops since the game came out. Could be they’re trying to beef up the new thing as much as possible.
I still have my fingers crossed that Season 1 is bigger than we expect and they'll drop Bosch on us as a hide character/secret boss. Similar to E.Ryu and Oni in SF4AE.

Season 2 character reveal within the next two weeks possibly? Season 1 was revealed on April 20th, but it might've been released early because people already knew.
Idk, I think it's too soon to drop a new revision of the game, after Season 1. I feel like they should do the rerelease AFTER Season 2/Year 2 comes out, so there's a solid expansion on the base roster and, of course, some new sauce to make it more enticing for newcomers. Then they can hit us with a Season 3 after that. Also, a dope thing that could happen if they pull off this revision is dropping a free version like GBFVS Rising, so it can reach a wider audience, but who knows, this is Just my opinion.

I think it’s a bit soon for a “Super” subtitle. I think it would make more sense to have a regular season and have a titled update every other year. So in your head season 2 would just be a season. Season 3 would be Super, season 4 would be regular and season 5 would be Ultra. Season y would be last season and after that SF6 has been out for 5 years and we’re ready for SF7.

I didnt really play SF during the SFV era, should I expect being force to buy a whole, full-priced, new game for Super Street Fighter 6? Or have they treated this kind of releases as dlcs/add-ons?
Im willing to bet SSF6 will imclude a proper story mode and maybe a new mechanic (like how we eventually got V-shift or 2nd v skills/triggers)

I think a super edition would be a good refresh halfway through the game’s life. I don’t think the content added in season 1 is enough to warrant a new disc, however. Vanilla SF6 also has deluxe and season pass editions so I can only imagine how confusing and frustrating this will become over time.

if they do make a super and ultra sf6 they should releasee it as a disc and digital update for those that already have 6 purchased. If they make it a whole other game it would be a bad look I feel like. They are essentially making people buy a whole nother game even though they have said game already. Only difference is one has more stuff in it. I know there are a lot of instances of companies doing that but I feel this should be the better option. But we will have to just wait and see.
That's the reason why we should not buy costumes or premium battle passes. Capcom will make an upgraded version where players unlock the season characters 1, 2 3, etc., and costumes just like the Champion edition. I'm waiting to buy the final version of Street Fighter 6. Once Akuma is released, I will just buy the character.
