So there's actually a story behind the whole weirdness of those vending machines.... apparently a lot of people died on that street so the bells are there for little kids to buy and shake as they walk home so that a spirit doesn't follow them and im totally fucking with yall i have no idea lmfaoooooooo

Haven't used that many vending machines in my life, but the few times I have 1/3 times it has been broken or just spat out my money instead of giving me the item.
Hi those hidden cameras I have used to catch my boss abusing me and taken to HR for proof so not everyone who has one is a creep. It helped me out.

The secret hidden cameras aren't really that creepy. They're actually really good to have in many situations. There are many cases of kids bringing them to school to get proof of harassment or bullying, and since they look inconspicuous, it's easy to get the evidence they need.
Unfortunately, a lots of people will use this in a extremely inappropriate way

I'm watching one Japanese YT channel that does lots of food/vending machine stuff and they explained that these mystery boxes are overpriced and creepy on purpose so people won't buy them and they are supposed to be saved for bad times. If some natural disaster etc happens, the owner will switch their vending machines to be "free" and the goods will be distributed to the locals. *flies away*

A friend brought me there, too, and when he went 'inside' to see the rest of the vending machines I was almost too scared to follow him. There were weird signs outside the place that freaked me out ("If you use the bathroom here, I'm going to record it and print out your picture and post it for everyone to see!").
I thought the boxes were little packets of books, and the notes were hints about what kinds of books they would be (日本には、ばかと阿呆と天才が少なすぎる). I thought wrong. Next time, I will buy one! Maybe!

I think I know what those boxes are. They could be stories of snippets of each persons' life. Sort of like snippets of private diaries. Usually those that pay to read it usually get a small gift from the author as a thank you for taking the time to read it.

This was the first video I watched in this channel years ago (when this channel was still sharmander) and then I clicked on the video with you getting items in the creepy vending machine area. After that a few months later I started watching the lucky bag videos XD. I wasn't logged in then so these weren't in my youtube watch history. I thought I'd rewatch this one cause it was recommended.
8:18 - As someone living in a building with an intrusion problem, I can see the merit in these little spy-camera doodads. Yeah, they can be skeevy or whatever, but there's legit reason for them.
I think the balls in the vending machine are stress balls!

My dad got one of those boxes once on a business trip to Japan the guy he was working with showed him the vending machines and he got a box, it had chocolates in it and some weird story about how ungrateful women were on the outside. He figured it might be used panties or something perverted but it was like just normal chocolates
It is probably filled with the randomest items and then the stories is just to spark peoples curiosity to buy it

Very Cool, I happen to like the nostalgia of vending machines, to me if I may, there is a lot in the "feel" of choosing an selection, for unlike a grocery store you can not change your mind, you can add to your decision however there is no turning back; and then there is the feel of the item you chose to pick coming towards you, time to prepare yourself, then your selection is ready, all the time spent finding a choice and making a choice has now accumulated and now it is time to keep what you decided to buy, I could take a ton of money Sharla, a bag and just go vending machining all day long, and the beautiful part in my opinion is you will never run out of vending machines to select from, I'ma come visit you!
