Johnny while perhaps true for whatever army you’ve worked in, assuming you’ve actually worked in one of course, but for the vast majority of modern nations, the military is a well established career, and is a heavily sought after characteristic that many employers look for when people apply for other jobs. @@stokesy887 Its good if you go for officer career. In my country (EU not involved in any war) its obviously a good career because 99% of the soldiers will go tru the ranks due to the low number of people in the army, in the US things are different, with 2 million enlisted soldiers, you obviously cannot have everyone go for a career, it's a completely different type of army. European armies are just for show, it's almost a second job for most EU soldiers. In the US if you enlist you REALLY go to war. It's different. You get paid less, you have to train more, you face more dangers...it's far worse than being a professional soldier in Europe where at most you'll have to do a 6 month peacekeeping mission. When I saw these young chaps here, I can imagine my dad in their place and feels how much pain and struggle my dad would have endured to get selected in the Indian Navy as an elder most son of his poor parents and only hope for nine younger siblings. The selection to the Indian Navy is almost similar to the Army so I can easily relate to it after watching this video. When I read his personal diary about his journey in a lorry to participate in the navy recruitment in cochin with no money in hands and had only bananas and water to survive many days. I literally felt heartbroken for his painful years to stay away from his family at very young age to give them a bright future. He used to be my look alike in his young days and I could feel the sadness on his face in all his group photos of Navy days, and I know that he must be feeling very lonely without his parents and siblings on his side. On the other side, I played video games ,wandered with friends, fought for small things in his same age and I have received a luxurious and colorful life through out my life with better surroundings. And, today his siblings and their children and grand children makes a big family scattered across globally and all of them leading a standard life, but sadly nobody remembers my poor dad who once boarded that lorry with big dreams to give them a good life. He expressed his love and affection towards his siblings in his personal diaries when he was away from them which he used to write and keep as an habit until his death. What makes me very upset and depressed is that I couldn't do anything to my beloved father. If he is alive today, I would have returned him everything in 100 fold times for the years he sacrificed to bring riches and glory to his family. I love you dad !!

the height rule is soooo stupid. The man with most sniper k*lls, Finnish Simo Häyhä, also called "The White Death". With 505 confirmed k*lls (Soviets) was short, only 160 cm! Indians do pretty d*mb stuff sometimes. I wonder what their reason behind that rule is. I'd say that shorter men are probably better in warfare too. 1. Closer to the ground (drop to prone). 2. @@nr1NPC " I wonder what their reason behind that rule is." For those who cleared it congratulations and who couldn't make it possible, come again, continue dreaming your country is waiting for you...
its for dumb people who can't live without getting told what to do. The army is for deeply insecure people who WANT DESPERATLY to find some "objective" or "meaning" and they think that they can find it in "serving the country". When you get old, youll find out you wasted 10,20,30 years of your life in the army. Enjoy.
@@freedomordeath89 But that's subjective though. The same can be said for anything in relation to an ordinary job or dream job.
@@JohnsonOyeniran Not really, normal jobs last 8 hours, then you go home and do what you want. When you are a soldier you don't have a real "private life". Your work is your life. You are "working" even when you are sleeping in your shitty army barracks with 50 other dudes...you are working when you eat, shower etc..if you are an enlisted soldier you work 24/7 ...for a shit pay.
Johnny while perhaps true for whatever army you’ve worked in, assuming you’ve actually worked in one of course, but for the vast majority of modern nations, the military is a well established career, and is a heavily sought after characteristic that many employers look for when people apply for other jobs.
For the American military, I would certainly agree with your statement though.
Hell...the military in my country (Italy) is used instead of POLICE to patrol the streets in major cities...or help with natural disasters..they are more like firefighters-cops than actual soldiers.
