- Here's a clip of Norman Brown performing at the Eastman guitar booth at NAMM 2013 in Anaheim California.
Enjoy and "Stay Stay Smooooth". smoothjazzfamily
filmed using the new Zoom Q2HD
One of my favorite all time tunes. Hard to believe critics gave George Benson's "Breezin'" album just a "C" rating back in 1976.
If that don't tell you all you need to know about critics, then?
@@robmorrison1043 Right!
It's amazing how you see these artist playing their craft at the the conventions and everyone walks these guys like they are homeless musicians who are in the street playing for pennies. The mentality of some people (you know what I mean) are totally amazing. I see the same reaction daily as i head for the elevator at work. If they knew anything about musicians they would know that was indeed Norman Brown a well accomplished musician.!
your damn right
texasvice1 Here in Washington DC is the same fucked up attitude towards great guitarist
Norman is great but the other brother ain' t too shabby either --- great performance by both.... so much talents.... Affirmation one of my all time favorite song!
It's awesome seeing/listening to Norman play a George song ☺
George played it but I believe it was originally written and played by the visually handicapped Jose Feliciano.
@@baldy555 Wow, all my life did not know that. Much, much respect to Feliciano!
Hi Norman Brown, I think that you are one of the best Jazz guitarists out today bruh. We in the Jazz playing community have to give respect where it's due, thank you for so many great sounding song my friend.
Those nerds in the background should be doing nothing but sitting in front of these 2 legends and admiring and enjoying this sweet music.
They are oblivious to what's happening! what a shame...
LOL was thinking the same thing, imagine how many people would love to have been were they are standing.
they only in their world, nothing exist around them

Obviously those
people are there to check out GUITARS...
Super Great Footage...Norman Brown is one of the Best Ever....Peace
They're both killing it! Monster players!
Norman Brown, just a shout pit to say I love your music brother. I had the privelage of seeing you once with Jonathan Butler on a sunset cruise on the Hudson River. Probably one of the best days of my life besides getting married to my honey.
Magnificent Norman Brown! Wonderful memories...loving, am loving it...from Brazil!
Excellent video! Jamming with Norman Brown had to be the coolest thing ever!
Unbelievable, The people walking around him absolutely clueless to know there's a master in their present. Wow..
Classic off a classic album, played so well
One of the few guitar players that bring a performance to the game while being technically amazing on the guitar...
Norman is the man!!!
I was standing next to the camera guy for this shoot and there were barely 5-6 people watching...4 feet away....It was all so laid back, unpretentious. I have some Norman Brown recordings, but didn't recognize him right away. 'Cool moment in time.
Wow, what a treat, man. Wonderful playing, guys!!!
Jazz relaxing an smooth. Song by one of Jazz Greats. Mr. George Benson.
Don't forget jose Feliciano who composed it
Affirmation that Norman is among the great ones.
These two great players killing it and nobody seems to give a damn....i'm sure it's just a my impression, as the clap hands at the end confirm!
Nice! I'm feelin this. Love it!
Thank you
Two Baddddd!!!!! boys. Love it!
Would love to have been there.
Really? Norman Brown is playing and no one is staring in his face!!!!! I would have took a picture! What is this world coming to? smile.
great jam, what a treat to watch
The branches from George Benson's musical tree are everywhere. From really established players like Norman Brown and others all across the globe just have been so heavily influenced by him. The Smooth Jazzers have made a cottage industry out of his sound. Can't think of a finer tribute to one of the world's great guitarists.
But it was popularised (and probably written by) Jose Feliciano
@@baldy555totally true, but I can safely say there are more people who knows George Benson' version better than the original José Feliciano's piece
...and --- i'd like to hear more from Doc Sobers! Very talented musician in his own right!
Took a while for the blue guitar to get his footing...then it was pretty cool...Norman's the man!
If i was here you'd probly just see me in the middle on full stop and mesmerized by these two great and amazing talents..
the bravos of the guitar..................SUPER.......
Norman Brown and Gregg(The Happy Guitar) Haynes.
thats not Happy. But Happy is dope. I met the guy with the blue guitar about 5 years ago and he was down to earth and real cool. But two different people
Were they playing at a deaf person convention? Not ONE person even notices them? OUTRAGEOUS!
I have an Eastman 810CE "Uptown" on the advice of Norman's then technical assistant. I've never looked back. Norman didn't have one then, and his man was arranging this partnership with Eastman at the time. Go Kraig!
wow!
Bravooooo!!!!!
Is this guitar heaven?
Are those souless people in the back ground green screen? If i was there and saw Norman playing guitar i'd be right at the front of the crowd to watch.
No better words to describe them. Zombies almost
Che affiatamento..bravi...❤❤...
If I was there, I'd we paying attention! Norman has killa techniques!!! And dope jam session!
Yes!!!!!!!!!!!!!
LA MUSICA DEL ALMA, MUSIC SOUL
phenomenal - both guitarists are splendid. however this song is a Jose Feliciano song that George Benson did in 1976 on Breezin'. Fantastic interpretation.
The people in the background annoy me
George Barraza They're to stupid !
Do you know what NAMM is?
They are green screen
Colin Doc' Sobers (docsobers on RUclips). I'm a former student of Norman. We meet at GIT 1992. Thanks for asking.
If I am in a guitar store and somebody really good starts jammin' like this, I'm at attention and all ears! The zombies in the background must be stoned on Klonopin. By the way....that Native American guy wandering around looks like the actor who starred with Charles Bronson in the White Buffalo movie.
🔥
I play bass. I would love to play with Mr. Brown🎶🎵🎼
I like both grooves where y'all from
Whos the other brother playing with norman brown
Very nice. But why the fake background?
Grateful that I found this....Inspirational, Wish I was there. When are you guys playing at the Hard Rock in Hollywood. I'd go. PS: WTF is wrong with the music cretans in the background. What goobers. The only thing I can come up with is that you guys photoshop'd them into the background LOL
Norman is well-known but who is play blue guitar his sound very clean.
Norman Brown and Darryl Darden.
Tito what are you talking as my spanish friends would say "que estas diciendo hombre"
Nice...
Who is the other guy?
Totally agreeing with the comments here. All the people are clueless in the background. You missed it, people!!!
Omg its norman brown🙀
Strange people behind like they don't know who they are!!!
cool
who was that other guy with norman??
Norman was playing some chord subs
THAT IS HOT!!!!!!!
2:43
what are they doing behind the great music. These guys better pay attention to two bad ass guitar players!
Dont use a pick its cheating ha ha .. love that guitar.
american mentality very apathetic ,,,only the musicians they understand and apreciate the music
Tito Aguilar Guitar Duets even with good players are often disappointing
or bothering and "empty" .Their first interest concerns mainly "guitars maniacs"
If it's not rap or pop now it doesn't seem to matter, Sky
The people are background for the video, they were told not to look.into the cameras, If that was NAMM and Norman Brown was playing you bet your sweet ass I would be right next to.him
Yo I thought this Norman Brown n E-40 at first 🤣
Really, these guys are doing this tune and those deaf people don't even know whats going on and who they are in the midst of? I would have brought in a small drum kit and laid down the drums to it!
you right like look at this guitar and watch me playing these two untuned notes
Who cares about the people in the background.... you have people in the front listening to them.....The camera should have been turned the other way...
The people in the background have no clue as to who is playing. How sad.
A George Benson Piece...
@PAT METHENY love your music btw.. Since i couldn't speak English.
No brother Jose Feliciano music if i have good memory
Too much like Benson!
+Mr GShocker Um, that was Benson's cover of the song!
+Mr GShocker And also, there isn't a musician out there that isn't inspired by another.
bdub6512 true
The other guy swears he's on Norman's level. Nope bruh.
Someone pls tell this ignorant soul who that other guitarist is!
