Thanks for that Gash. Really keen to see how you go. This new oat extract is a very new product but we are hoping it makes it easier for people who want to introduce haze and mouth feel but without all the complications of oats.
No worries, I went over the usage benefits in the first video, not sure if you saw that, this is kind of part 2, it was going to be one video but decided to have a longer brew day vid, so I split it up. Cheers!

Your original coopers NEIPA video helped me so much with my beer brew flow
Keep doing that voodoo you do so well!
Glad I could help! Cheers mate!
Gash! I could listen to your hints and tips for hours!!
dont tempt me hahaha Cheers!
Cheers Gash. Absolutely gold in here for beginners!
Thanks Stass!
Appreciate all the tips for us beginners. Cheers to the beers 🍺
No problem 👍
Hi Gash, ive been using a 2nd vessel for dry hopping, all done under pressure, all purged during the ferment including the keg. Yes I have CO2 lines running from each vessel, but I just tape the fridge door closed. Ive had amazing results, no need to open the fermenter during fermentation. I ferment in the 30l all rounder, once fermentation is complete, transfer to the purged 27l with the hops already in it. The trick is to have the keg in between the two fermenters so the hops don't get soggy, yes I also have SMBS in the keg as per your video.
Sounds great! Cheers Fast Eddie!
Awesome video!
Glad you enjoyed it
If thinking of brewing it, pull back a bit on the malt or oats or whatever, pull out 500g.. It ended up very strong lol
I brewed your coopers neipa for the second time Saturday, loved the first batch i did of it.(my first ever mash) ill definitely try this one! And ill also be starting my brews under pressure from now on!! Read to much and got confused been starting with valve open for first 3 days then up to 5psi. Thanks for the videos and your wealth of knowledge.
I see kedland have oat extract listed now.
Cheers.
Hope its turns out mate. Thanks for the heads up over the Oats. Cheers!
How did it turn out mate? Happy with the oat malt extract?
Awesome stuff mate.. much appreciated! 🤟😊
No problem 👍
I really enjoyed that vid Gash. Good to see that this kind of info is still relevant and appreciated by many by the looks of it. I might have to get a batch going after not brewing for years.
What was the dry hop? Cheers mate.
Thanks mate, I just used up the two hundred gram packs, maybe a little overboard, but its a hazy ipa I guess lol .. 80g of idaho 7 and 80g of Nectaron. share.brewfather.app/VrFwXEddwrkJCx
I loved this video, passing it on to others to help them. I think i missed it but what was the hop used at 1024 dry hop and quantity. Thanks.
A tip for the novices (me), when you turn the collection jar butterfly valve to to closed position, make sure you remove the collection jar, I should be receiving my new jar shortly 😞 WIll be installing a PRV on the replacement one...
Great video Gash, can't wait to see the result. BTW, have you got the link for that handy strainer? Cheers mate.
I found that strainer years ago now, I think it was aldi, but its the kind of thing you might find at market, asian grocer etc. I see lots of rectangular ones the same style around, I havent really been looking lately to be honest.
@@HomeBrewNetwork cool, thanks mate
Hi mate.
I'm new to brewing and been looking at all your videos learnt heaps thanks You Betcha. I seen one of you videos and you know electrics. I'm looking at getting the brewzilla gen 4 as I want to make beer form scratch. I also want to get a pot still for it and I want to put a voltage controller on it. Because of the computer/control box that runs brewzilla If I drop voltage for the element it's going to stuff or mess up the computer/controller? Or can I tap in after the computer/controller with a voltage controller with out effecting the computer/controller. cheers mate
The Gen 4 can control the element power where the older models couldn't thats why you needed the voltage controller. Cheers!
@@HomeBrewNetwork Thanks
Only problem is it fluctuates on and off like the pump which is no good. From what I have looked at it's fine to put a voltage controller in just have to tap in between the relay and the element
@@Deano155 I can't say I've tried it, I use an induction plate on my still, it fluctuates on and off and works fine, but yeah that doesnt mean the brewzilla would i guess. Cheers mate
@@HomeBrewNetwork Cool thanks mate
May be reach out to Kegland and obtain information around the PID “D” derivative, this might be able to help?
Gash, big fan of your channel for many years. I suspect you will be kegging this like most beers you do. Do you think it would be possible to bottle this beer? I have seen a lot of people say hazy beers are really difficult to bottle due to oxidation issues which lead to the beer turning purple and tasting bad. Cheers mate.
When is the tasting mate? I'd love to see how it came out.
Yeah sorry its happening just haven't had the right opportunity to do a whole video.. Its balancing between time, the house quiet with the kids and my fairly strict diabetes diet at the moment. I've had it live on streams a few times and in patreon vids some where. Next week. Cheers! I was going to do it today and our house was taken over by the sister inlaw,, I'll just stop there lol
Interesting new product..
It very much is!
Cheers for the video 🍺
Thanks mate!
How did it turn out in the glass ? 🍻
Review up tonight. Cheers!
Hi mate have you ever done Morgan's Draught what yeast can I use too improve it an any hops cheers mate
Not yet, sorry mate, I would try novalager yeast for a clean lager taste. I'd go light on with hops, well it really depends what you are trying to change it to? Cheers!
I'm not into really hoppy beers and prefer Belgian style beers - saisons etc. Just wondering what other beer styles would be appropriate for the oat malt.
Thanks
The good thing about oats is they don't impart much flavour but they are great at adding body and mouthfeel, and are good for head retention so they can be added to any beer that needs that. It was always mainly stouts and porters, then oat cream IPAs, ice cream ipas, but these days people are putting them in all sorts of pales and other styles. Not sure you'd want then in a Saison unless you are lacking body, but some Belgians might go alright with it I reckon. Cheers!
Hey mate. No grain steep/mash this time?
I gave your Mash coopers pa NEIPA a go yesterday, rookie error I used a bigger pot, sparged more water and as a result of that I don’t think I cooled the wort below 80 for the hop steep. It’s going to be bitter af. I was so devo. I guess that’s how we learn the hard way. Thanks for these videos. I’m short on space at home but want to do more than brew the same fresh wort kits all the time. Cheers.
It might just be fine! Cheers!
@ hey mate , this beer looked and tasted great when I took a final hydrometer reading. Cold crashed, Bottled and two weeks conditioning everything has dropped out and it is crystal clear. Yet to taste it but I’m so shocked. I used US-05. Read a bunch of things that can cause this, I used a campden tablet but haven’t started water chemistry or ph balancing yet. I also didn’t add yeast nutrient. Whirlpool hops stood at 90 degrees probably. Maybe I need some flaked wheat. Maybe a different yeast. Maybe I over pitched the yeast. I am going to sort the water chemistry, Brisbane has hard water I now know. Maybe it’s just a learning curve I need to battle through. I hope it tastes ok at least.
@@michaelrandall8102 Its really hard to say where something went wrong. Did you use the oat extract? There's no point of using flaked wheat because you're not mashing anything. A different yeast will help. bit.ly/CellarScienceHazy . As long as it didn't get oxidised through the bottling process it should taste perfectly fine, unless you picked up too much bitterness as you mentioned earlier.
@ i think it will taste nice. it looked great when bottled too i forgot to add it has only cleared in the bottle. . I used the Quick Oats. I’m going to try again with a part extract small biab half batch recipe using some grain, and use a different yeast. I have a quick read thermometer now so I am building more precision into this. Maybe the water chemistry next.
@@michaelrandall8102 ok so the quick oats weren't mashed? How did you do it? Cheers
I would like to see the results using the oat extract.
Soon mate!
Mate , you live in Point Cook?
Unfortunately yes 😂
