The tiny $2 RDA5807 FM stereo PCB Radio (76-108MHz)

This is the tiny RDA5807 Personal Stereo FM Radio Module from AliExpress.
It's a ready assembled complete PCB FM radio that is tiny measuring just 16mm X 47mm and costs just $2.00, (£1.80 GBP). It works remarkably well and could be a great item to hack and experiment with!

Very cool! It needs some battery protection circuit and you could make a tiniest little receiver!

Hi thanks for your thoughts. Battery protection would be worth investigating so good to raise that point. It’s a very useful and hackable little receiver for not much money. And as you mention could be adapted for use on many different things including constructing a micro receiver. An idea that came to mind is that I have an old 60s transistor radio that is not worth restoring, but could be adapted to use one of these little FM receivers by using a little LM386 amplifier, (see my video on that if it spikes your interest) and put some small pushbuttons discretely on the rear to duplicate those already mounted on the board. Would then have a useable 60s shabby chic radio. All good stuff!
