- I shot the video with the Z6 II, I wanted to compare the HD and the 4K. In all honesty I think HD looks great compared to 4K and it is totally an option when shooting videos with a Nikon camera.

Whenever I see comparisons between HD and 4K I am never seem to pick the correct side for 4K. Thanks for the comparison.
I’m the same way. I made the video and I had to go back to the file Info to make sure I was labeling them correctly.
Thank you
same here.. but there's one side I only miss about 4k, switching horizontal videos to vertical.. but I am exploring software like Topz to upres.. the z6 just does 4k 30p and I film most things in 60p for my clients except talking head which is in 30p
I've always shot both, but never really compared them side by side, it's pretty good! I shoot with the Nikon Z6, bummer that it only goes up to 30fps in 4K. Would you upgrade to the Z9? or would you wait for new products coming out?
I actually want to have a second Nikon camera and I feel like the Z30 would be a great camera to pair with my Z6 II. I would love to have a Z9 but I’ve had a D850 before and big cameras are not my thing. I’m gonna wait for a medium size camera like the Z8 or Z 6 III. Currently loving the Z6 II and a big fan of the Z6
my problem with the likes of z9, z8, d850 is the massive resolution which don't play out well for my kind of filming ( low light ).. I really love the z6 esp when filming dark caves and yet it's still clean at 12800 - 16000 iso.. even when shot with rec709 8 bit although I do prores 422 most time 10bit.
The crop isn't bad at all.. I thought it was goin to be very significant..plus the video quality is very very minimal.. which will be made up for in color grading
Yeah I think so too, for me is no big deal.
Shitty crop for 4k! Any option to get 4k in full frame?
You only get a crop when shooting in 4K 60p otherwise it has the same full frame look in 4K and HD when shooting in 24 and 30p. If I don’t want the crop I just shoot HD 60p or move a step back when shooting 4K 60. But you’re right I hate that it has a crop.
what do you mean by shitty crop in 4k? From what I see, the crop isn't so significant and can be remedied by a wider lens plus, the quality difference is also very very minimal.
