- Опубликовано: 15 авг 2024
- Just bought a Nikon Z6ii, then here’s the setting I recommend to shoot the best cinematic videos with Nikon Z6ii. I explain the key video features of the Z6ii, such as why shooting in 4k 25fps or in 4k 50fps to achieve outstanding smooth 4k videos is worthwhile and which AF-area Modes to use to nail focus on your subject 100% of the time.

I just post online and the Z6ii is perfect for me... It's motivated me to really dive into the customization of the settings and dial my work in. It's been a blast and I'm just scratching the surface. Even landed some real estate gigs already from my posts! Highly recommend
Great to hear!
Gosh ,now I feel like I'm the only one left on the planet with the D500 now that you've moved to the Nikon Z6ii.I own the d500,d3400 and the d7500....with a lil patience I still get great images with either my d500 or D7500...I'm going to stick it out till the end...my d3400 is on the back burner, I guess it will rest on a mantle somewhere :) Enjoy your videos...thanks again for being a trooper.
Thanks for your feedback Sandra. I bought the Z6ii because I wanted to stat shooting videos, and the D500 isn't well suited for that. If I hadn't wanted to shot videos I would have kept my D500
Mate your videos I exactly what I need. The Z6 II is what I need to shoot videos of my upcoming safari in Africa next year
Thank you for supporting my channel. I'm in the process of doing a video on whether to shoot RAW or JPG and how this affects the Frame-Per-Second Speed. You'll be very surprised.
Hey Charles, I use the Z6 and Z7 for commercial Video and Photography. You're right in the fact that the F mount lenses work perfectly and there's no need to rush out for a Z lens. That being said, the Auto focus for video is considerably better on the native Z lens. The Native Lenses are really sharp as well.
Yes, the Z mount lenses are slightly better, but I'll be a while before I go out and buy a Z lens
Thanks for sharing your experience & comments.... love your work...I still have my D500 & I don't shoot much video....I find mirrorless gear is too expensive for me as a hobbyist.... cheers 😀
Yes, mirrorless is expensive, but for me it was well worth it.
I too shoot video with the nikon z6II. The results have always been wonderful
That's for the feedback and this was the primary reason for me to buy the Z6ii as I wanted to add video content taken while on my Bird Photo-walks with my camera
@@CharlesNPhotography I just put on a video using the Z6II along with a Tamron 150=600mm G2 lens. Check it out when you get a chance.
Slow motion looks way better 😌 👌 thanks for sharing 🙏
Thanks for watching
Imo flat is the best profile for video you can add sharpness and contrast but cant really take it away
Maybe, but I've found for my Z6II that using one of the profiles helps me edit my videos much quicker. 😉
Great video!
I like using Z6ii with classic lenses.. Z mount greatly goes with them thanks to its short flange back. I love recording videos with manual focusing as well.
Thanks for the tips!
I bought a z6 II to my camera bag along side my D750. I have all the pro grade F-mount 2.8 lenses so I didn’t want to go buy all new lenses. Took a trip to Thailand and used the Z6 II on a Dji RS 2 and a 28mm 2.8 Z Lens that I bought in Bangkok and I am really impressed with the quality but I don’t like the crop factor in 60fps.
Fair enough! I shoot at 25fps, but when I shoot at 50fps, it's to use later to slow down the speed of the video or if the wildlife is a certain distance from me.
@@CharlesNPhotography you use a 25p timeline. You must be in a PAL region. I am in NTSC. I shoot 24, 30, 60. Thankfully the Z6II has basically shutter angle control and I don’t get that terrible flickering when in a PAL region. That was a major concern for me but it worked out ok 👌🏼
Great video Charles
I have a Z6ii and can't wait to get out and shoot some birds here in New Zealand.
It's a great camera
Excelent video! I use a Z5 and the 200-500mm and get good results. Thank you for sharing your experience.
Thanks for sharing, I looked at the Z5, but it didn't have IBIS so bought the Z6ii
Subscribed. I want to follow your journey with this camera, as I bought one a week ago as well.
Awesome! Thank you! Over the month I plan to do a few more videos on the Z6ii, and the next video to be uploaded to my channel with discuss the different auto-focus ode to use for wildlife photography
I agree with all of this, but the problem is the latency when using HDMI out, mine is 305 ms. This puts lip since well out of time. Any ideas anyone on how to get rid of this problem?
Do you mean the latency when using HDMI when recording to a external device!
Does your camera get hot?Mind does when I shoot a video too long on my Nikon Z6ii.
It's never gotten hot has I rarely shoot videos longer than a few minutes in length.
@@CharlesNPhotography Thanks
I still dont undertand slow mo.
If I shoot a video at 50 frames a second, how do I play it back?
Do I have to use a video editor?
yes, you have to use a video editor and reduce the speed by 50% to make it into a slow-motion movie
@@CharlesNPhotography Thanks for that. Now I know what to do
Hi if you shoot 4K 60p is the F stop also x 1.5
I shoot in 4K, but at either 25fps or 50fps if I want to slow the video down.
@@CharlesNPhotography does the Fstop multiply be 1.5 times
Welcome to Mirrorless Charles and to Full Frame >> I had the D500 for African Wild Life but I soon swapped it out for Full Frame D850 .. I now shoot Z7 and 4 x S Lenses
The Z6II is better than the Z7 for Video. I use the 70-200 f2.8 S Lens with a 1.4 x S Convertor (When needed) for Wild Life in Africa and now Nikon has announced its Best Companion the 400 mm f4.5 which is far better than the best S Wild Life Zoom 100-400 f4.5 - 5.6 . All I need now is a future Z7III or Z8 or current Z9 (Cost !!!!) for fixing the only weakness of the Z7 and that is Continious AF then I will have everything for my retirement here in S Africa >> I enjoy your Videos
What would shooting in Flat in video suit you compared to Neutral. I shoot Photos in Flat on the Z7
There's little difference between Flat & Neutral. But I found that Neutral gave me a slightly more natural look to my videos and I also needed less color correction. On my D500 I would shoot videos in Flat as Neutral was to saturated, but te Z6ii look very good in Neutral.
I love to own the 400mm f4.5 looks like a great lens for wildlife
