- The 'W Exercise' is extremely efficient at recruiting the middle/lower trapezius muscles. It recruits the infraspinatus and teres minor muscles, along with the middle and lower trapezius muscles while also minimising the upper trapezius muscle's involvement. (McCabe et al., 2007). Middle and lower trap fibre strength is extremely useful for stability through the scapulothoracic movement and through the glenohumeral joint.
