So many people asking why Dean doesn't clean the tools after a quick repair - simple reason is that his time has to be paid for, so any time spent cleaning the tool would add to the cost for the customer! I think the question should be "Why don't customers clean the tools with an airline BEFORE they send it in"
That’s a good point taken; I guess the technician has to weigh whether taking a few seconds to blow junk and debris out, vs taking extra time to really clean it? Good point however and comment.
Thanks for this video mate saved me lots of coin to go out and buy a new one! Where would i get a new spade connector from? Is it just a general item or makita specific? Thanks again
Hey Dean, I fixed mine changing the battery bit but now the burnt space I think has made it stop again, where do you find the exact right angle spade bit?
Is it that hard to use compressed air at the end of the work day (of the owner) or at least send it to be fixed somewhat cleaned? That circular saw looks like been thrown around wood dust and then sent to Dean.
@@nguyenhaianh8070they do work fine in the dust it’s just the tools will run hotter I always clean my tools of with compressed air once every few weeks because hotter tools will be more likely to break
Apparently it is for some people, Michael? I hate to see tools abused and left all junked up after use. I worked in the cabinet trades for many years, and we would have a compressor out running trim, toe kick, etc, and would take a few minutes at end of day to blow of the tools, and they were company owned! Besides, who wants to throw dusty nasty tools back in their van?
He must have been ragging it continually from shutting down as the current cut-out in these has a pretty low threshold. They're not designed to rip down lengths of wet 4x2... Good tips again Dean, thank you.
Hi Dean, another great video. my Makita dhs680 works intermittently. Not that it’s advised, but if spin the blade independently and pull the trigger (once my fingers are back out the way) it starts and seems to work fine. Would this likely be the switch or the controller?
Hi dean i have the same saw but its dead no light no nothing everything looks lovely and clean stator looks good windings look lovely and bright all the same dont smelt burnt checked the switches r ok and the terminals like u did.am i right in thinking its the controller thats gone

Bosch cordless saw after ran under heavier load doesn’t react to safety switch and turns on only from start button. Problem goes away after battery off/on. Is it something serious and needs to be fixed in service or I can just work with that? Thank you.
Open it up and check switch, battery contacts, clean(w\ electronics spray cleaner) & blow dust out inspect for issues. Start with simple stuff first man. It's hard to diagnose a problem from Ireland. 🤔🤷🏻♂️🔋⚡
Hello Sir, I have such a machine. The symptom is that it does not start at full speed, but rotates slightly a few millimeters around the circumference. The electronics controller heats up very much, even when there is only the engine, because I dismantled the entire transmission. I am running out of ideas.
@ 04:27 Why not take a few seconds and blow that junk build up out, before putting the motor and housing back on? It looked like You hesitated, but then put it back. Just curious Dean Doherty, you master technician!?
actually, i did blow it down. that stuff is cement fiber board dust. It ant coming off. its bonded to the saw now. i bust the alu frame before getting it of
@@deandohertygreaser Aww, dang, that makes sense, and yeah, that stuff is nasty! That saw has a rough life! Makita makes great saws, IMO. Forgive my previous comment! 😃 My Dad used to tell me when someone made it look easy, they knew what they were doing. The way You tear tools down, and fix and put them back together, is impressive! Cheers! 👍
The connector is not so much the issue I think, you need a special tool to connect them as the regular one for normal spade connectors doesn't work on these.
Thank you very much Dean. It was exactly my problem. I am very grateful for your detailed instructions 🙂

Look fine for me, no need to clear that cause the tool will get dirty again when back to work. The tool is designed to work with dust anyway.

People don't care especially if its company property. When they start buying their own its a little different.

From what Dean told me the owner was using it to cut fiber cement board, why they would do this, I don't know?

Was the blade blunt? That increases load on the motor.
Da blade dun blunt 🤣
What parts name and where can I get?

I like how dean just tosses everything out the way. Any time I set down parts carefully and purposefully I still fucking lose them 😂
Seriously, ya know? 😂
Have you seen the intermittent problem in the DeWalt circular brushless saw do you know what that problem do be
Thanks Dean another great repair 🦘
Hey Dean was just wondering have you ever come across a Dewalt Drywall sander not working? If You Have any videos

And here's me thinking it was just rejecting the work because it had a DeWilt blade
😂😂😂
I have a cordless router with the same problem it is a brushless machine I might have to take the plunge and open it up
Can't make it worse than already broken

Why is it you never seem to clean the machines down?....
Hey dean türkçe altyazıda eklermisin ? Mümkünse!
Surprised you didn't give the inside of the stator housing a blow out of all the dust.
He explained it in answer to my comment! It wasn't your typical dust per se, but cement fiber board debris. He did try to blow it out.
Right angled spade connectors are readily available on Amazon and not difficult to source at all

Amazon ones are always garbage
I thought it stopped working cause it had the 'yellow brand' DeWalt circular saw blade on it !😂😂👍🏻👌🏻🛠️🔧🤔🔌🔋⚡🔥💥💨
