    I was a little worried about installing the blade after reading a couple of reviews. But it was amazingly easy. Took about 1 minute. Works great ruclips.net/user/postUgkxjpBI8OOeUXib_iT7UomCrQ-uauwZJ62c . Cuts easily and is perfect for pocket cuts I needed to make for replacing some old deck boards.

    Really nice use of material that sometimes just gets thrown out. I have a few boxes of this stuff that I picked up really cheap from a Habitat for Humanity store. I knew eventually it would come in handy. Thanks!
    Also you could apply basically the same materials to make an adjustable dado cutter for your router. You would just need some small adjustable wooden blocks on the side of the two panels and a couple of knobs. Great video.

    Hello, congratulations on your construction.
    The idea of silicone on the sole is perfect; the only flaw I could find in your creation is the loss of over a cm of cutting depth: I made a similar guide with 10 mm MDF on which I passed with the original sole of the saw and I found myself cutting two panels from 28mm without reaching the bottom (with a 210mm diameter blade!) Now, on the side of the sole I have welded two guides obtained from connecting pieces of aluminum bars 20x20 or 20x40 etc. those bars used to build the 3D printers and I use one or two 20x60 bars (1000 + 1000mm long) as a guide to which I created sliding clamps with a side strip, long enough to lock and position the 20x60 guide correctly

    • @CraftyDude
      @CraftyDude  2 года назад +5

      Hey, nice to see you again!🤝 I believe you made really great guide. I dont wanted to spend too much time and money for this, in these days that cnc bars cost nice amount of money. My saw is pretty big and I still have 50+ mm of cutting depth, what is enaught for all cuts I making.

    I just saw this 08May24. I am somewhat confused.
    I understand that vinyl plank flooring is truly temperature and humidity stable. But by the time you buy a box of vinyl plank, the aluminum square bar and the saw to dedicate to the system you're into the budget track saw world. The other thing is...well, how you gonna make an eight foot track? How you gonna splice vinyl plank together? I just retired from flooring installation and in all my time I never once saw 8ft vinyl plank.
    ... just sayin'

    • @CraftyDude
      @CraftyDude  Месяц назад

      This saw is not compatible with original makita saw guide, by reusing waste material I find out cheap solution of this.

    • @woodrowsmith3400
      @woodrowsmith3400 Месяц назад +1

      Ok. I understand a little better now. I wasn't really dogging on you...just couldn't understand why you did what you did. Now I get it.
      By the way...I have made several 'advanced' bases for my Makita trim router with LVP job scraps...larger simple base, a step base that allows me to cut dadoes 1 1/2" apart (for 5" sanding disc storage) and a 30" trammel for cutting circles up to 55" in diameter...so, I get it...just didn't understand it at first. I never once thought your work was shoddy or faulty, nor the idea insane...just didn't understand at first.
      Your response made me subscribe.
