Theo that Trent take is one of the worst takes, ever found on the internett that is sports related.
Trent has proven it, but he has proven it at Right back, and an inverted full back is not the same thing as a center midfielder.
He's only played as a cm in the second half of some games this season and 3 games for England . You can make a case for him over Neville but not in the midfield.

Trent (RB) in midfield doesn't mean that he's picked Trent over Keane, it means he's picked having Gary Neville in his team over Roy Keane, which is a much larger stinker.

Trent on his day is a far better baller, that’s true, but he’s not THAT great defensively. He’s relatively inconsistent in that regard.
Gary Neville will never put in a 10/10 performance, but he’ll put in 8-9 out of 10 performances every single game and he won’t get injured.
There’s a reason he started nearly every game for a decade. I don’t agree with choosing him, I’d go for Trent, Irwin or Evra, but it’s not like it’s an insane choice.

Not having Trent as right back is genuinely mind blowing. The football litmus test to find out if someone understands football is to simply ask them their thoughts on Trent.

No one has ever influenced football matches from a full back position as much as he has. Quite simply the best passer of the ball in history when it comes to defenders. There is nothing you can do to stop him. Do you realise how crazy that is. For opposition managers to worry all week about how a right back will hurt them. If you back off then you give him time to whip in a cross. If you try and press then he’ll ping a ball over the top. No full back has ever had this effect on the game. 72 assists in the last 6 Premier League seasons. Please appreciate a footballing anomaly before you regret it.
Yeah but if he’s coming up against Mbappe and Vini Jr then it does become a problem if he can defend or not. Not saying Neville would pocket those two by any means but certainly would do a better job than Trent.
