Tom can be insufferable. Even when he has a point, he is sometimes outed as being hypocritical in his way of building lists, and then his arguments are reduced to extremely immature rhetoric.
It's a shame, because he is often the one with the most unbiased and insightful opinions. The side of him that says "Yeah, you're right" sarcastically instead of answering and indulging in discussion needs a smack across the head. The unbiased, understanding and debating side needs a handshake and a raise.

I'd take gallagher in my team and im an arsenal fan. SO theres no bias here. Trent is a bum for a top team unless you literally build around him. Curtis Jones has been criminally underrated in this list. He’s probably been one of Liverpool’s most important players this season. Constantly goes under the radar because he’s not as exciting as an Eze or someone of a similar ilk.

Theo‘s list is actually the best one.
Trent is easily a top 5 England midfielder and there is a reason why he is getting utilized that way for the national team now and John Stones honestly is as well. In possession he anyways already plays in midfield for City and bar 2-3 players from this list nobody could that play that role better than him.

First of all, Trent and Stones have already played in midfield multiple times. Messi and Kane haven't, not to mention that they simply don't have the workmate to do so either.
I'm also not saying that Trent and Stones would be world class midfielders, but they definitely deserve to be around that Number 5 range for Englands, especially considering how weak those lists were from spots 5-10. @@adambassuni6084

Theo having Elliott in his top 10 but not Jones is laughable to people who actually watch us. Elliott isn't even a starter, while Jones has been one of our better players in 2023.
Jacob Ramsey was arguably England U21's best player above Jones and Elliott until his injury but he only made 1 out of the 4 lists

Longstaff above Gallagher is a joke, if Gallagher joined Newcastle longstaff wouldn’t get a game ahead of him
this idea that stones plays cdm is mental to me. He doesnt, he plays cb and steps into midfield during possesion to help progress the play. Hes a centre back, not a cdm. Trent is slightly less egregious, but hes still not a midfielder, hes a rb by trade.
Well no Trent isn’t technically a rb by trade he’s just forced to play there because he can impact the game in a diff way to midfielders from that wider position and because Liverpool don’t have someone half as good as him to play rb. Not to mention in the academy Trent was a cm and he was captain the only reason he became an rb is bc Klopp thought he wasn’t built for a cm like physicality wise since he was skinny and not as strong he wasn’t sure if he’d be able to hold up in that position and figured he’d have a better time breaking into the team because they needed a rb more then a cm. But obviously now he’s grown physically and his technique is insane he’s started to play at cm more like last season he did so for 10-15 games. This year he’s just been slotting into the cm role when they have possession or they are loosing a game. But I expect he’ll play cm a lot more later this year and that will probs be his position in a few years.
@@dyl3291 the reason he played midfield last season was because of a complete lack of top level midfielders for liverpool last year. Trent has spent the vast majority of his top flight player playing rb, that makes him a rb by trade.

no it isn't. chelsea are struggling and gallagher is part of that struggle, he lacks offensive creativity and doesn't add much defensively. his passing is average and he can't break up lines with long passes. he is pretty basic really.
