There is nothing significant about that book & it never matters what someone lists a book for, it is what someone pays for it. I wouldn't buy that book for even $1. Sadly, he got hosed in both of those boxes. I do mystery boxes and I make sure those who buy get more then they paid for for the most part... Whoever sold him those boxes totally took advantage. That is why I always tell people to do their own research.

Sometime graded comics aren't worth much, I got a signed TMNT comic that was signed by Kevin Eastman and graded 9.7...the most I found for it selling on ebay was $15..it all comes down to who wants to buy what and it's different from person to person

No. You're a complete asshole if you think this business model is ok. It basically lets the company sell garbage and make huge overhead. At $100 bucks they should send probably more lower value comics so that the company has repeat customers. This guy doesnt care as he makes the money back by doing these videos, but average people would only buy 1 maybe twice before never ordering again when this happens.

As a comic collector I can tell you condition can make the difference between $5 and $25 or more on a comic. I would never value my comics based on Ebay. Also I would never buy an ungraded comic there.
Right, e bay sales are a horrible way to judge the value in hand. He openly said a cover had flaws, if they're that bad it might not even hit a CGC6.

I have been buying comics on Ebay for years and do amazing. You just have to know about grading and what to look for. And Ebay is a great place to see what people are willing to pay for something. It does not matter what someone says a value of a comic is, it is what people pay. For example, if there is a comic that is listed as worth $5 in any price guide but the very next day that book has a character that is going to now be in a movie or TV, do you think that book is still only worth $5? The more you learn, the less likely you will ever get burned. The fact that he did not know what those comics were tells me, he has a lot to learn about comics (especially variants). Knowledge is power.

I think he buys this to resell in the future. But in mystery boxes (same as sports hobby boxes) you either gain or lose money, not always you get good ones. But to a collector these are priceless.

Those Slapstick comics are both Robert Liefeld variants, and I think they're worth a decent amount. Seriously, when dealing with comics you are always best to invest in an Overstreet Price Guide. Was a lifesaver for me when I liquidated my comic collection a few years ago. If I'd went just by eBay I'd have gotten squat for some of my Silver Age comics.

Comicbookreal.com is a great free place to check prices and catalog your collection and even a place to sell em. But you didnt get ripped off you actually came out ahead on box 1 by about $100 after shipping
Both covers are done by Rob Leifield..might have misspelled his last name but the color sketch only had 50 made and the black n white had 100 and its Vol 2 of the series and agin the color is worth around $75 and the other is around $150
I had the same thing on the very first comic book Mystery Box they offered. When they come around with the second one I made a comment on their post about how that mystery box was not for me and stated the reason why (eg, the value was so much less than what I paid) I know it's a risk on mystery boxes but still that is crazy. They subsequently deleted my comment on the post so not to prevent prospective buyers from pulling the trigger.
Liefeld's color variant of Slapstick is worth 2/3rd of his sketch variant. It's a fun 6 issue run but not particularly collectable. Deadpool's only name checked in the story. At least you didn't get the ICX variant which inexplicably doesn't even have Slapstick on it... just a bunch of characters who have nothing to do with this series.

Those prices you are quoting are all for high level graded comics, these aren't graded they are raw ungraded with minimal value to them as they sit

When it is sitting on ebay for $40 right now and nobody is buying it, that means that it is worth less than $40. Most of these online price guides factor in graded comics which you can't when the comic is not graded.

I've bought one of those mystery bags from Walmart and found a book worth about 25 bucks (not bad for a $5 investment) but I sold it to a collector not on Ebay. Oh my days Clint all I can say is I am shook. I know you take the risk with these things but even still the resale value on these comics are absolutely soul destroying. I absolutely love you videos but one thing that really chaps my ass is to see when you have been ripped off in this way. Surely this company has broken some sort of rule when it comes to these things as there has got to be some sort of guaranteed value back especially on $100 box. I’m really shook.
