Never its tp4056 is linear regulator so excess voltage is discipated as heat. 5v 1 amp discipates 0.8w (0.8Vx1amp). You know how much heat it discipates. If you apply 12v it will have to heat up for 7.8w (12v-4.2v=7.8V)x1amp
This circuit will cause self-discharging of the first battery(on the negative end - leftside). Because the first battery's positive is supplying back the first TP4056 module itself through the diode.
Not true. The battery doesn't charge TP4056. Yes, the module do need a little amp in order for the discharging protection to work, but that is not due to this circuit. It can be neglected also.
It can't , because tp4056 needs minimum 4.5v input to start charging which the first battery can never provide even if full charged 4.2v (4.18v to be precise if charged with tp4056).
Your math is a little wrong you show an imposible output voltage of 9.08v at 2:48min. Two fully charged batteries (2 x 4.18v) = 8.36v LESS the voltage drop of the silicone diode (1N4007 = 0.6v) making the real output 7.76v @ 1A limit of the diode, when batteries are fully charged. You can improve the output voltage of this design by changing the diode to a schottky diode with a voltage drop of just 0.3v making the voltage output 8.06v. There is no reason to use 9v input, if you remove the input link between the two modules you can then power each module from a singel (but split) 5v supply (i.e. USB/phone charger). At the end of the day you are still better of paying an extra $0.50 for a real 2S BMS as this would give the full 8.36v at 20A rather than 7.76v @ 1A or so you are limited to here.
