Gotta love it when alphard decides that after losing it's a popularity contest, then a head to head (which didn't actually have to be played, because it already happened), and literal RNG. It really has that sore loser feeling to it.
It shows that he organized the tournament only for the content (which isn't strictly a bad thing). That's why I didn't bothered with it until just now when I realized Skooch was in it.
He is a sore loser but a lucky one at that.
He didn't counter Wolfey's team in the final at all, he went for a meme he did since the start of the tournament (since for them it was an all for nothing, he went for the "content play"), which luckily for him was an actual counter to their cheese strat.
That and idk why anyone would defend that 7-1 score when they cheesed the whole tournament and the new players hard.
The strat got countered and they lost the tournament because they relied on it, had they played normally they likely could've won the last one.

Under standard rules, Alpharad's team got to the finals automatically due to the head to head. He was trying to make it more hype if you actually watched the stream. It was his *team* that wanted to take it, and he decided that that was hype

@@Nixahma they agreed to do an actual tie breaker game, then someone in Alpha's team was like "well the website you used for the bracket already gave us the win because we won the head to head". So they put it to a vote on if they'll just take the win or play the tie breaker game they had already agreed to

So alpharad basically just gave himself a second chance pulling rules out of nowhere, then decided that the GRAND FINALS was a best of 1? and then, instead of counting the total points of the teams to decide a winner he said "ok, we won this match and we're 1-1 so that means my team wins" ? that's a scam.
When you saw how Wolfey's team won those 7 games, they are the last ones who should complain about the best of 1's, as Wolfey's himself said in his video.

So, alpha decided to run the semifinals as a best of 3, had 1 of the categories be total rng, a fan vote which is basically rng (unless the popularity of the creators on each side can be estimated, and if alpha saw his team was more popular, basically guarantees himself a free point), and just gave himself a point by default. And then made himself the winner with a score of 6-2 instead of the team which went 7-1 who had a record of 1-1 with alpha.
This is the problem with having yhe tournament organizer compete in the tourney with the power to make up rules on the spot.

gonna pile on, but they could have at least reset the bracket since they came from losing side. but seeing as he skipped a game, he either really just wanted to win through any means necessary or they wanted to wrap up the tournament, but I'll let other people decide what to think.

It was the others who agreed on the different semi.
That and 2 pain things:
-Alpha went for the content in the last one, he picked a meme he made since the start of the tournament, it wasn't a planned counter or anything, he just went for the "funny pick" and won by sheer luck, since it countered team pikachu's cheese strat.
-team Pikachu won by using cheese starts against newish players, if it wasn't for the strat they wouldn't be nearly as well off score wise.
And as Wolfey himself said, blaming the best of 1 grand final would be hypocritical of them since they abused the hell out of the tournament, they relied on that strat and got beaten in the finals due to it.
Alpha was on some suspicious shit ngl, the whole semi finals was weird, giving himself a guaranteed first point then just taking a second, then making the grand finals only a best of 1, instead of also a best of 3, smells like a mix of sore loser and desperate winner, as if his making rules up on the fly.
Anyway, you guys were 7/1 and alpha was kinda sus so in my head you guys won tbh

Weird rules. If you went 7-0 and no one was even close, then you win, the next two teams can then play it out for 2nd and 3rd but if no ones scores are remotely close. Thats it, you can have a "for fun" match for the "final" but in the end, you won, that is how Tournament matchups work.
It really isn't.
Tournaments usually have 2 phases. Phase 1 is brackets where teams play in single or double round robin, then compare the score to see who proceed to the next phase. This usually happens when there are so many teams competing that they need to be put in brackets.
Phase 2 is usually straight elimination where teams are paired and compete in best-of-3 or best-of-5 in e-sports. Winners proceed and are paired again, and the last two fights in finals for first and second while losers of semifinals fight for third.
@@fanficologist6621 Well when its a round robin, which this tournament was, typically first place, second, and third are determined by wins. For some reason, this tournament, despite being a round robin, had a "Finals" which goes against the entire point of a round robin in the first place.

The semifinals was decided on a joke which everyone agreed on and the grand finals was a best of 1 from the start.
Skooch and Wolfey's team won all the games due to a cheese strat (go watch Wolfey's perspective explaining it too), he even said how complaining for a best of 3 grandfinals when they cheesed the whole tournament due to the best of 1 rule woudlve been bad thing.
Alpharad being alpharad won the tournament by sheer luck too, from his perspective the finals counter-strat move was an inside joke since the beginning of the tournament (him wanting to pick absol but never doing so), had he not followed his own joke at the end he wouldn't have won regardless of how he ended in the finals (and no one woudlve complained either).
So that's already a point against anyone saying that he did all he could to win (as in "rigging the tournament"), because he really didn't, he had no idea nor clue of how to beat the enemy and won by luck, as he usually does.
the tournament was just fun itself, to make it ”fair“, there has to be a looser bracket aswell.
