- The Dual Stereo Gate (DXG) music synthesizer module is a Dual Stereo Low Pass Gate and Mixer. It follows in the footsteps of the QMMG, Optomix, RxMx, DynaMix, and LxD. Unlike its predecessors, the DXG is specifically oriented around mixing stereo signals, making it an important addition to any system containing modules like XPO, QPAS, Morphagene, Mimeophon,Spectraphon, and other stereo modules by Make Noise or others.

Well that does it. With my recent purchase of XPO, 2:33 I’m going to have to remove all MN modules from five separate cases and consolidate into a single Shared System that I will share with no one. Most are cool black except for RxMx and Maths. Hope it doesn’t impair audio quality. Color coordination is so vital to serious artists.
Ooh a stereo gate. I like it xx kinda low key and practical compared to the make noise releases of the recent years
Love it MN. Looks incredibly useful especially in 8hp. Can't wait to pick one up!
On my personal wishlist: An Erbe-ConvolutionVerb that's a bit similar to a Morphagene, but it's using samples as impulse response files you can record yourself from live sources, from the case, load on SD, etc. And then you can reverse, splice, varispeed, etc. it. This would be a true MakeNoise/Soundhack module that's never done before.

@@xavierxeon I have an ECR+ and the predecessor. Not the same. It's the ability to record, splice, gene, pitch etc with impulse response files so you can make echos, verbs, physical models and change reverbs by changing a splice point. I can almost hear how this sounds and I am 100% sure it's completely unique.
@@CinematicLaboratory I get your point. So I guess you are currently stuck with a dc coupled audio interface, a computer and something like max msp.
much love for sample based convolution reverb, I love Ableton convolution reverb, and just learned you can use it as a pretty fun delay too.
@@xavierxeon Ha, not really. Using the ECR+ with home made IR files is indeed great fun, and it supports 10 secs of reverb tail. It's a great piece of work, but it's very oriented to natural reverbs of real spaces. You can set envelopes on the tail so you can start in the middle of the tail if you wish, or set an attack on it. Super cool. My wishlist is just about giving the idea a SoundHack. MN now has the DSP power to do it.
I bought Make Noise case..boom they bring out a new case..got that, all new modules bought and finished it with Optomix..now to change optomix to DXG...never ending. At least it's black. Hope it's the same 8HP as Optomix

Is it possible to use a “y” cable to send a different signal to the left and right, so like 6 total instead of 3? Does it route l to l and r to r or is there other tricks? I can’t wait for the videos

This is so funny cuz I bought an optomix maybe 5 months ago and now this comes out which has a better color and the stereo works way better with all the stereo MN modules I have lmao. But optomix is sick still keeping it
I been on the OG Shared System for damn near a decade. Went from PG to MG back to PG.

that's funny, 'cause i call my modular system "sound LEGOs" and one can never have too many LEGOs, either.
speaking of LEGOs, i once made a working modular case out of LEGOs (and two spare rails) and power it with Make Noise DIN Power modules. i didn't realize how meta that was until after i built it.

It would not make sense to use vactrols for this, especially if one wants to have L and R channels that have the same (or close enough) response, in which case matching the vactrols/channels would add to labour and thus price, or that is how I understand it anyway.
Also, they would have to make two different units, like TTA/Buchla have to do with their 292t for the EU/UK...which again is not ideal.
And then there is the elephant in the room that is the non vactrol based LPGs that sound absolutely amazing..."better" (in my ears) sounding than some vactrol based counterparts and much more flexible, because they are not vactrol based.
Anyway, vactrols or not this sounds like the 4 (1mk1 and 3mk2) different Optomix modules I used to own.

intsant buy !! sounds like the attack is damn sharp for a lpg, is it vactrol based ( if so hope you found a cadmium free one because in Europe...) just wondering why there is no pan control. ALso wondering when stereo ( TRS ) minijack will be a thing in eurorack because it would make patching way less messy
Endorphins does it here and there, and even make some adapters for some of their dual mono outputs.

whoa... that "unstable green section" is a thing?? i thought some dust got inside my Morphagene somehow and was messing with the encoder. i'm glad the fault isn't from my environment.
