Having spent half an hour of patching time just this past weekend trying to “dial in” an XPO -> QPAS -> [ left to Optomix ch.1, right to Optomix ch.2] patch, I have already contacted my preferred retailer and made arrangements. 2024 is shaping up to be a good year for me and my little case!
if you patch the channel 2 outputs into another module, does the mix output still include channel 2 or is it removed from the mix? edit: confirmed via twitter that you cannot remove channel 2 from the mix output.
Already ordered mine to replace Optomix, got to have the stereo option to go with all the other stereo modules..so much more happy patching in stereo, plus its black. Maybe do the same for modDemix :)
No more hunting around for black panel LXD or Optomix! Stereo to go with XPO/Morphagene/Qpas/X-Pan/Spectraphon/Mimeophon. That seems about f***ing perfect to me. But dual stereo LPG plus Aux in mix? That's just wonderful. SOLD.
Dear MN. I scored a 2nd XPO from b-stock at my local vendor. They're holding it for me, and I will receive it in early February. Is there any chance you could do a video of 2x XPO's through the DXG? Just to see what it can do?
There is not a dedicated panel control for the "LPG" response, but there are a couple fun quirks of the circuit that can be used to alter the decay - we will go into these very soon in future videos!
I did work in Berlin, and had some time to kill before catching a flight home. Walked into Schneiders and on their front desk was a qmmg, just arrived from the US, #75 or something. Let's just say I barely came up cash positive from the job... It's such a treasure that module.
There is definitly a demand for a dual LPG optimized for a stereo signals. I also think that it is pretty expensive for 8HP without any vactrols. And where can I buy those vactrol ear-ring?

@@sonicspecter and in the US, EU made modules cost more. You can buy a Joranalogue Delay 1 for £244 from Juno Records, from Perfect Circuit it costs $399, which is about £312...I preordered mine from Juno for $267, because they don't charge your card until it's despatched, but it's available for $254 (£199) from other retailers here. At Perfect Circuit it's $215, so it's 18% more expensive across the pond for us, still more reasonable than the 27% increase going the other way, for Joranalogue modules anyway.
@@BappinProductions I don't agree with your observation. In Germany the other Make Noise products are currently 10-15% more expensive than MSRP (which is reasonable considering the € to $ exchange rate).
@@sonicspecter I don't really know why I'm busting your balls about it, but I will stop now. You understand that imports incur additional costs and it's OK to have an opinion about the cost/perceived value of modules or anything really. Have a good one, with or without buying a DXG ☺
Ok im not going to lie the beginning of this weird was beyond weirdoville but this module may come in useful for some people. Im on the modules that paved your way, morphagene and mimeo predecessors. V2s with new features to be precise
The DXG is primarily designed for the gating and mixing of signals that already contain stereo image or motion, such as those derived from the XPO or Morphagene, or processed by the X-PAN or QPAS.

@@MAKEN0ISEMUSIC totally agree, i was thinking about using it with xpo, but then the difference between sides is only timbral, not volume or gate length. If I want some more control over my xpo stereo outs I'll need to add some other module, like xpan or qpas, which doesn't really make sense to me
@ Yes, each module in the system has its purpose. The DXG is very useful for mixing down and gating multiple mono or stereo voices. The X-PAN and QPAS are more oriented toward adding stereo animation to voices that may not already have it. These modules are all designed with each other in mind :)
I was on the verge of buying some more optimix modules when I read that the U.K. & EU banned vactrols…. I already have 3 optimix modules and 2 MMGs…… always wanted a qmmg….. actually there’s a thought…. Would it be easier to do a run of vactrol-less QMMGs?🤔
@@Romanowitch clicks. just read what people write about on modwiggler in the morphagene topic. New modules are always great, but we also need to think about supporting existing modules!
Maybe an all new Morphagene/Phonogene successor is in the works on the new digital platform that Spectraphon is on, since they specifically mentioned it being their most silent platform yet. Hopefully the next version will not have the much discussed "coil whine" noise emanating from the module itself, along with no more excessive "hiss" in the signal path that many people have experienced since Morph released in 2017. 😉

Just noticed the DJ Screw book on the shelf! Nice
Another great release! Congrats to the MN team! As usual, a great walk-through Walker. Can't wait!
Thanks for watching!!
The tie-dyed sleeves is what sold me on this... 🙂
I love the Spinal Tap reference!!! Looking forward to getting DXG!!!

Great intro, Marty and Nigel! 😉
Absolutely love this video. I laughed out loud during the first part. Great module!

excellent with stereo modules - ordered. Thanks MN!
