On September 25th, 2021 Beloved played their first show in 17 years at Furnace Fest in Birmingham, Alabama. It was a truly special experience and one that those in attendance felt worth sharing, but the set was not fully captured in HQ audio/video.
Fortunately, Beloved had two shows booked in their hometown the following weeks, providing an opportunity to capture Beloved in a special digital event.
A DIY community sourced production was quickly spawned in order to capture and preserve this significant event. Video and audio capture, production, and mix were donated and money was raised by three of the communities in the scene to pay for the remaining expenses of travel and hard drives.
Thank you those communities for making this happen.
We believe that its all of our jobs to create space for, capture, and share what is significant. That is the heart of the scene. That is how it has always worked and will continue to work in the digital realm.

One of the all time great albums. Still listening to Failure On regularly since the day it came out. Nothing else like it back then or now.
This should have a million likes. Singer has the voice of a million bucks.

One of the most underrated bands ever. Failure on is one of my favorite records and remember warming up to it on my practice pad to play shows back in the day. Thank you for this. Thank you Beloved and Joe Musten for all the years of inspiration in my music and playing.
This band could’ve been absolutely massive and I’m mad that didn’t happen for them. When they put out that single in 2021 I was thinking “and they could still be massive!” I wish they were active at least but it doesn’t hardly pay and they’ve all got families to support so I get it.

Josh sounds unreal on this - there's a great case for putting together some new music in the future and knowing that a whole lot of people will support it. If American Football and Hopesfall can do it...

The fact that Josh's voice in their last song is as great as it was in the first song is remarkable. Still one of the best voices around.
I still maintain this to this day. This band started the beautifully heavy scene back in the day. No beloved=no underoath

This brought back so many memories of loss and joy at the same time. Tears are sweeping my eyes. Some of the toughest times in my life happened when you guys put this album out. I can’t ever thank you enough nor can I say enough heartfelt things to make it whole. From my heart to yours, I’m grateful.
Beloved opened at the first live show I ever went to. 2003 in Hollywood at the Troubadour. They opened for Armor for Sleep, Zao, and Further Seems Forever. I was mesmerized by their music and immediately went down and bought this album and I still listen to this day. Thank you so much for everything Beloved! You changed my life that day

Of the many Christian bands that helped shape my youth, Beloved was that staple that has stuck with me since I first heard Failure On, an absolute masterpiece of a record. 19yrs later and the emotional connection is even stronger. Absolutely stoked on this video.. they sound better than ever. Thank you for this.

This is awesome! Got into Beloved back in 03 when they opened for Norma Jean and Figure Four in Guelph Ontario Canada. Never heard them before but instantly fell in love with them.

Grew up in Virginia Beach, VA and it was a HUGE DEAL when I could find your albums for sale at Best Buy. Thankfully, my family was a bit different and I understood that having a CD somewhere prominent vs actually finding financial independence in your album sales was absolute crap compared to what they were pulling in to the publishers. Still, never stopped me from trying to get to one of you or Underoath's shows. I remember seeing footage from a show of Beloved's in like 20p resolution and was SO EXCITED to hear the live, choppy, totally screwed up audio mix on that feed. I was hardly so happy to see another community's scene take off than yours.
I still can't get over the fact Josh didn't take Classic Case more serious... That band was fire!

I saw these guys play in a cramped basement in Statesville twice; I think two weeks in a row right around 2000ish. I'd not experienced a lot of live music at the time and was blown away. I was amazed how all the kids bought an album on the way out, the first week, and apparently WORE IT OUT till the next show where they screamed the words back as loud as the band. It was truly awesome. Mic stands held together with duct tape and all. Ears with a muffled ring all the way home...
I don't think you're giving yourself enough credit saying you never felt like you were playing to 'Your Crowd'. After seeing you the first time, they were all 'Your Crowd'.
Beloved is Beloved. Huge inspiration to my early band years in the early 2000's. Thank you guys. Your sound is cemented into my mind and soul.
Beloved played the first show I got to go to in Seattle as a teenager (with Zao and FSF). Can’t believe I had the opportunity to see them play live again after all these years! And they killed it!

I was fortunate enough to see them with My Chemical Romance and Avenged Sevenfold in 2003 in Atlanta, GA at The Cotton Club. They still sound incredible and I still enjoy listening to this album today.

When I started listening to you guys you were about to play your last show. This video somehow feels like the closure I've needed. Also not afraid to be a follower of Christ, God Bless you guys.
This show made me very emotional watching this in its entirety this morning on youtube. I started crying during the first song because it just hit me so hard and brought me right back to when i was first introduced to your band. I had a friend who was into hardcore and metalcore was in its heyday at the time. His AOL AIM username was KissItGoodbye. I asked him what this was in reference to and he introduced me to Beloved. The Running is an incredible EP and of course I eventually found Failure On. Those were some of the very best times in my life and though I never got to see you guys live as you were no longer together when I was first introduced, I listened to Failure On over and over, daily, weekly, and to this day I go through periods where I just listen through The Running and Failure On in its entirety whilst driving in my car. Your band means so very much to me and spoke to me in a way that felt truly unparalleled in my youth. The melodic post hardcore beauty in all of your tracks is just astonishing. I still get chills listening. Love you boys.
I hope one day you boys decide to go on one last US tour. I know life gets so busy and maybe I'll never get the chance to see you all play live here in Central, IL.....but this live show recording means alot to me. It is a window into some loving, cherished memories. Thank you for the art, guys.❤

To this day, one of the best bands I had the privilege of seeing, all the way back in 2004 at St Andrews Hall in Detroit. They opened for Underoath and Norma Jean but were by far the best sounding on the bill. Failure On is a masterpiece of the genre
Definitely made an impact in my life. When I lived in NC I remember traveling to See the “last show” back in high school (circa 03-04) or so . I remember standing on a piano on the side of the stage to see everything. I get goosebumps to this day when I listen death to traitors. Thank you.

I discovered Beloved during their time touring the country opening for bands and joining various festival lineups and had the pleasure of seeing them 3 different times and they were among the best bands at any of those events and I still rock Failure On all the time!
So glad this came out because I never got to see beloved back in the day and I still listen to failure on front to back probably weekly. Always wondered what happened to these guys, even tried to find them on a few platforms. Good to see they are doing well and still sound amazing!

So glad I found this. Full nostalgia for me. Random experience popped into my head from watching this but did sound for Advent at the now closed Red Door in Pensacola FL and started playing Cult of Luna from their Beyond album before the show started and Joe walks up super surprised that I was playin CoL. We talked about Post-metal for a second and at the time I had no clue he was the drummer for Beloved, one of my favorite bands growing up. Fun memory and I love Beloved and Advent. Can I have a new album from both bands please and thank you.

I first saw Beloved at the Gathering Grounds I think in Kettering Ohio back in the early 2000s and I was blown away then - and I'm still blown away EVERY time I listen to Beloved (and Advent in a totally different meat-and-potatoes-way). You all have created something so important and special with your music. THANK YOU for persevering and sharing this with us. 💙🖤💙
If Advent of the Miracle could be re-recorded for all of us that love that album above all else with Joe singing would be awesome!!!!! It's awesome to hear a good quality version of that.
Secondly, I was there in 2004(was it 2004 at the first break-up show?) and nobody has ever told me what happened and I loosely knew everyone. When the K Word came down from Roanoke, VA everyone was super cool to us and we played at the church in Kernersville...I think it was a church? I fell off the edge of the world and only the military saved my butt and when I came back after that - everyone was grown and....distracted in a new way at least in Roanoke. I'm so sorry I didn't come down for this or Furnace Fest with my brother - but my back and being clean....it's weird to be at shows....I feel as nervous as being onstage and it's uncomfortable so I just stay home and hide int he comments...hope everyone is safe and happy

Their singer's voice still sounds absolutely perfect live, as do the test of the band. I'm impressed. These dudes sound like they never stopped. A lot of these melodic hardcore bands were noisy and sloppy live but Beloved always kept it together and it always blew my mind that they didnt get bigger than they did. One of the goats.

Very first time I saw Beloved, I loved them!! I was not in their expected Demographic at all!!! first of all being older and probably the ONLY adult bring teens to shows.. LOL.... I went to the Merch table, seems like they didn't have their CD out yet, but they had some cloth patches and I bought several which the kids snapped up quickly! Next show was in a much larger venue, but amazingly Johnny, the bass-player recognized me from our previous conversation and came over to visit... I thought it was Crazy but very meaningful to me. This is a great interview!!

Words can't say....Failure On has groomed me musically & this band has my heart. I don't think they're done making music. Abyss is already legendary. Amazing performance. One & done LP Hall of Famers, another group who had a O&D Killer album is DAYINTHELIFE, look it up!

@Beloved lol, it's definitely cool to have seen Beloved! Got to see you guys with Hopesfall in NC (2001) Beloved opened, at the college coffee shop at NCU(I believe), drove from Elizabeth City, well worth it, and someone set off the fire alarm, good times.
