- Here's my version of the Athletic Theme from Super Mario world! Definitely one of my favorite games from the Super Nintendo, and it's wild to think that it's been over ten years since I've done a song from this game.
An absolutely insane song to make in acapella format -- I tried a couple different ways to sing the main melody, and so I decided to split it up. This one was quite a project, so I hope you guys enjoy!

This game felt like the year 2100 in 1991. It was soooooo much more than the NES.
Yeah it did. I grew up with Scott Joplin's music and remember being blown away that I was hearing "piano" coming from my Super Nintendo, lol.
First game I ever felt obsessed with as a kid. I played it in a department store and was immediately hooked and desperate to get a SNES.

It was deja vu for me as well, but the SMW Overworld theme he did is very similar to this, as well as the fact that he already did "Athletic" from SM3. Just gets better with each version though!

Dude the way you split the fast rhythms into alternating notes between two tracks was genius and very effective!
What a nostalgic theme. I remember it playing on my SNES with my mom. We took it in turns, everytime one dies the other one tried. The greatest memories of my childhood. And we had so much fun because we both sucked and giggled from every death. Sometimes we died because we couldn't stop laughing. I do miss the old days... time goes on and before you realize it, you are a full grown adult with the same childish attitude.

Siiva really has ruined the perception of this song for so many people. I was briefly surprised by the normal melody because witch doctor is so ingrained in my mind at this point, lol.

Super Mario World is a timeless classic. Perfect controls, fun gameplay, easy to understand with a high skill ceiling--I bet our descendants will still be enjoying this game decades from now.

This is honestly incredibly impressive when you consider what was recorded. Not only the range in that base, but being spot on rhythmically with the melody split into 2 tracks. It's also great just as bouncy background happiness noises.

For some reason this arrangement got me thinking so hard about Mario as a person. Not as some game character, but a dude who is just built like an absolute truck sprinting through the country side to save a princess. While the music is this joyful, it kinda has some sick metal undertones to it with how built he is it’s kinda fire

This sounds so incredibly surreal with the different consecutive notes being sung by different Smooths, especially with it all being in stereo sound so the sound from the screens on the right coming out of the right speaker and the sound from the screens on the left coming out of the left speaker. It sounds fuckin amazing, but it's also really weird to listen to. I love it! :D
