- Here's my version of the main theme from Super Mario 64!
It's a legendary song by a legendary composer (Koji Kondo) from a legendary game. What else can I say? While keeping to the original theme as much as possible, I added some fun things to spice it up that were inspired by different versions of this song I've heard over the years. Oh, I intended to wear my normal red Mario hat for this, but it got all messed up so I used my backup. Hope you enjoy!

My father showed Smooth McGroove to me when I was young aswell, I wasn’t a baby but I was around 8-9 years old. I still love to listen to his music even now, it always makes me feel better.

Indeed! This one has always been a banger way to start SM64 and is definitely the perfect way to start Smooth's restarting of his channel.
It's nostalgic in such a weird way. Obviously plenty of us just know the tune by heart already, but something about the way he arranges these acapellas - it's like the acapella itself is instantly nostalgic as well. It's so difficult to explain.

This is like a 2 part nostalgia for me. Not only the Super Mario Bros song but I used to watch Smooth Mcgroove religiously when I was younger. He got me through some harder parts in my life with his great singing and just overall welcoming vibe. Its been years since Ive listened to a Smooth Mcgroove acapella and im so happy his videos made their way back into my life. Thank you for everything that you do, it really does make a difference for some of us.

To maybe give you some perspective, not that I need to explain myself to some random person on the internet. But its not the specific reason of a person saying "buh" that brought me to Smooth Mcgrooves videos. Its everything that is involved in them. The type of music he is singing, the production, the passion and fun we see during them. Even the quick little segment of his cat coming in just brought something that made me and im sure many other want to return to his channel for whatever reason. I have a feeling you have seen things very one sided in life and I urge you to open your perspective a bit more, for your sake. Also just a tip, if you "Dont want to be this/that person" then dont. Hmm... 2002, I think, and will be like, 21 in September 26. :p It's weird to think about how old he is now. o.O Sigh... This tune lives rent-free in my head. I remember way back when I was a kiddo and I first unlocked the wing cap (with the help of my cousin), an Bob-Omb Battlefield was the first place I experienced freedom of flight in a 3D game. I can remember how that experience blew my mind way back when, on the good ol' 64. This acapella takes me back to that simpler time. Fantastic work, Smooth McGroove!

I'm old enough to remember when video games were widely regarded as "kids toys", so it really made me happy when I read things like this or when I had to explain to my teenage nephew that games weren't always considered artistic.
