Worth? Up in value? It just sucks a lot of people don't collect for the sake of collecting anymore. Most of the time it's about what can I get that's valuable that I can resell. I miss some people would have collections that they could hand down to their kids and grandkids.

I've been with The Metalhead Box for a year now, really enjoying it. Good overview of some of the other options.

Yeah hit or miss with some of these. VMP needs a rock/alt rock genre every month

I love John Williams, I just grabbed Memoirs of a Geisha (new) and Empire of the Sun ($4 in a used bin VG+) soundtracks.

Awesome review. Also total agree on Gimme. I have been a member for half a year and everything has been awesome.

Ty for this video, I was feeling the same way you were about vinyl moon, just had to hear it from somebody else. I'll just keep on buying/thrifting.

Not everything is about the records value. 😑 I’m collecting these because I like the music and want to support the artist not to try to sell back later…

Resale does matter if you’re overpaying for an album. A lot of people buy sell trade.

Been a member of Vnyl for 7 months now, theyre progressively getting worse for me. Probably be cutting ties with them if this next box is worthless. $20 for one record, that list price is never more than $9 to $15 on discogs... and they seem to be not even trying to get close to the genres ive listed. Ive just signed up for the MetalHead box, 2 Doom vinyl plan a week or so ago. First box will be sent out at the end of Feb i believe... hoping for the best.

They missed the mark with me which is why I ditched their service. If you like metal checkout Gimme Vinyl Metal Subscription! Every record I have received form them has gone up in value!

I kept getting the wrong records compared to what I was supposed to get. Sometimes, it would take quite a long time (like several weeks/months) to actually get the records shipped. I also had quality issues with some of the records being warped or just bad pressings. Some of the records were great, and some were just not my style, which is to be expected. I liked being able to preview and select a choice in lieu of having them select a different curated record or in addition to a curated choice. It was wildly inconsistent, and I canceled after about a year and a half.

Fascinating, if I won the lottery, I would definitely start one one of these - the focus would be on filling the gap of tunes that would have come out on 7” or 12” but didn’t as the vile CD and cassette single were the norm, circa 93 in the States especially. Anyway I have a massive list of out of print, or things that just’belong’ on that format.

Seems like you need to invest to invest, as it were. I really wanted to snag the new Helloween ‘Best Time’ single but it’s 12” only and I only collect 45s, anyway a great overview, I subscribed:) If I did a subscription service it would be 45s only, u can still cut 3-4 tracks on them and they’re just more appealing to me

Watched your video and I appreciate what you do. Just have some thoughts on improving the ending of the video. Pick your top 3 and state some pros and cons of each. In the end you state hey I'm a metal head so the metel based subscription is my choice. I think you're missing out on all the potential non metal head subscribers you could gain. Just some thoughts. Best of luck in all that you create.

Any club suggestions for me, who live in Brazil? My musical taste is very eclectic. I mean, thinking about the curation and the cost of international shipping

I’ve run into a big problem with the idea of a vinyl subscription. I like EDM. EDM vinyls are very under appreciated, and there’s way too many of just a couple albums. I’ll probably just tell one of my friends to order one for me. Also, most of my favorites are singles 😭
