I have a 23 350 xc-f, I could imagine this bike is even more fun. I love the smooth power, I rode 2 strokes for over 20 years, these bikes are so easy to ride, makes it fun again.
I can't wait to see the finished result. Last year I got the 2022 YZ450FX then added the street legal bits, insurance and Ohio 22YZ plate... It's like putting a plate on a nascar. At 100hrs I put a new chain and Dunlop 606's they work great in the street/dirt/grass/mud/sand.. I'm leaving the stock rims and going to put a smaller sprocket in the back next tire swap. I bet yours rips tires and chains up just as well!!!
Great job on the video pointing out the differences in the new bike! I went with the 450 XCF-W because it has the 6 speed gear box and the PDS chassis is much more compliant. I have both a 2021 450 XCF and a 350XCF which I race in the GNCC series. The XCF/SXF chassis is stiff and I feel like I want something softer on a Dual Sport conversion plus it is easier to make it street legal.
We picked up a 250 for my son and a 350 for myself. The 250 was the first one we bought and I was very impressed with the feel of the chassis and suspension. My 350 feels super cross stiff. Very rigid. I have luckys and a national shock from a beta I will be swapping too but I thought the differences were wild. Also, I believe your fuel line is on the wrong side of your head stay. Great video!
I'm not a mx guy, by I have a 13 and 15 450xcf in the garage, love them. Will sell the 13 in the spring and will watch your xcf content for upgrade ideas!!!
Im picking up the 450xc-f. Im on the 19 300xc with a 38mm Kiehen. I hear the low end is similar to mine top end just goes. Im not a mx guy either. But will this bike be to much bike from the 300xc?
Fingers are crossed you will have a 450xcf, and a unicorn 19 300 xc in your quiver at the same time.. My guess is that you will use them for different riding areas. 😁😁😁😁 I fatigue faster on a 450 vs a 350xcf, but I wish at times I had the low end grunt of a 450 while riding the 350!!! My goal is to add a 24 300xc in a year, spreading hours over many bikes works for me.
@@bradl45 You cant go wrong with the 300xc. My 2019 is a chainsaw. Has untaped power to this day. I do like the Grunt sound from video's on the 450xc-f. Its almost relaxing to me. I may be putting 5k down on Tuesday....😮. I got the msrp price down a bit. I got things rolling....
The new Wiring system looks like a huge leap forward. Now, C'mon KTM, how about a tool less seat removal system! Thanks for the video, love the content!
I love the bike, obviously massive improvements in all areas, just aesthetically I wish they tried to make it a little more symmetrical. I know KTMs have never been symmetrical with the air box and fuel tank, but the enduro tank on this model looks so different on each side it's just jarring. I know they can't make the tank perfectly symmetrical due to the header pipe and other parts in the way, but on the right side it looks like there's a lot of room they could've squeezed some volume into to get a more similar shape at least. I reckon if they made the indented textured section on the airbox cover black it would make the side plates look a lot more symmetrical too
Hey man ! Been following the channel for some time, amazing content and useful information, really appreciated over here. I could finally pull the trigger on a 2023 450XC-F, got delivery date for December, somewhat n00b rider here in the dirt at least, iam looking forward to the maintenance content, disections on the xc-f, and buying parts from you in the future also. Gone use the bike in the dirt a few months and then put a snowbike kit on it for my next winter, south hemisphere, so June 2023 probably. Thumbs up from Chile !!
Awesome detail, thanks for that. Would love to see how bevelled out/thick the seat is. I miss the pre-electric start days when they had full depth foam.
I’ve found this bike new at dealership with street legal kit. Turn signals and all. I’m really honed in on this particular model, not the “W”. How would you rate or judge the versatility of this bike being a 5 spd for trail riding, a little bit of commuting (no interstate) and a little bit of entry level enduro from time to time?
Man... I'm not usually a sucker for Bold New Graphics, but that is a dope look. Rad bike, and the 2024 EXC looks to be a winner. Wait til 2024 or steal a 2022/ 2023 with leftover money for Taco Moto Sauce? Great delimma to be in...
I've got three bikes right now. 500 xcw (street legal), 300 xcw and Kawasaki 450 for track but lets say I wanna go somewhere and maybe one day I want to ride on a mx track and next day do some duel sport or single track. It would be nice to have one bike that could do all 3 someday and looks like KTM is making something that could finally. Maybe in a couple years or something I'll try and get a deal on a slightly used one and work on converting it for my 3 styles of riding.
Hopefully the stator puts out more wattage now because that has been a problem if you are running a fan in tight terrain. The fan draws the battery down because the stater only puts out 35 W
This or a 350 xcf? Bigger guy 235 lbs but I ride michigan tighter woods. Been on a 350 for 6 years but debating going to a 450. You think it's too much?
Very nice looking bike, ktm always seems to be on top of their r&d. I have a 21' Beta 500RR-S and noticed a few similarities that they might have learned from. Fuel pump routing is by far the best update i think. I look forward to watching the breakdown video.
I need a plated bike for AZ/UT/CA...What's your thoughts on waiting for the 2024 EXC or making the mods on a 2023/2024 XCF ? I want/need performance and reliability. Thanks and love the channel !
When will the break down of the fuel pump be on here I would love to see that and how to take the bike to frame and engine. The old fuel pump system I hated when changing tanks
Xcf doesn't have the quik shift not sure why u said that it worked great. It has the button but it doesn't work at least that's what my dealer said when I was in there deciding on this bike or the xcfw 450
I was thinking it took some Beta ideas. I really lime the layout as well. After the autopsy, I'm real curious on what kind of lights and Guage cluster would work well on it. Have my eye on the 350xcf/450xcf for maybe a deep/river sand bike build. Is DirtBike Test or Trevor hunter going to get to review it as well?
Good overlook Mike. I'm also curious about that new fuel pump. Especially how it gets all the fuel out. Hope it has a line that feeds to the lowest point. That would be great for aftermarket tanks since you might have the option to attach a longer hose!
Curious now that you've had the bike for a bit how you feel about the 2 maps? I got a 23 250 xcf and the difference between maps 1 and 2 is very noticeable for me.
so that would be first time in KTM history that they fixed something without braking other aspects of the bike or we just don't know about KTM fails with this one just yet?
@@TACOMOTOCO Yeah I just didnt know if that KTM was like one of those Yamaha WR450F's or something where the gearing is different, and would still get spanked by a KTM 350 XCF or something. you also have to add break in time into it if you had just got it the 350 takes around ten hours to break in where as the 250 takes about 5

Suspension will take awhile to break in. Will still need to be redone to be off road plush.
Did you ride it??
Do they offer a 6th gear kit like the prior generation?
There’s no kit for any gen but a 6th gear can be added
so that would be first time in KTM history that they fixed something without braking other aspects of the bike or we just don't know about KTM fails with this one just yet?
do you think the 23' 350xcf will have similar improvements ?
Note on the KTM website what models are on the all new chasis
the small flapes on fender is to avoid mud on high jumps on eyes of the rider....
Ooooo, that’s great intel. Thanks for this info 🏁🏁🏁
Do you think the suspension is harsh due to your weight (don't know how much you weigh) or do you think it would still be stiff for a 215lb rider?
It’s harsh because new and firmer tuning than I care for
You going to add a 6 gear to it
Will the husky fx 350 share parts with the ktm xcf ?
The same ones that are shared on the current platform with the addition of the new subframe
In case you care, Keihin is pronounced KAY-uhn. I knew it didn't sound quite right to me, but I wasn't sure how to pronounce it until I looked it up.
Good to know. Thanks for that intel 🤘🏽
Does this bike have a Lambda sensor for the fuel injection? Is it closed loop fueling?
No, no
Did the new 450 xcf-w (enduro) get these new updates or is it still old generation platform?
That new model is on the 20-23 enduro platform. Next year it will be on this chassis
Quick Shift is only on the SXF, no? I think the XCF doesn’t have it.
