    Excellent video.
    It shows a typical day in those areas that you cover.
    Although many neighborhoods in Houston have a reputation that may be seen as negative, these areas have a lot of wonderful people whom are just good folks trying to live their life the best they can.

    • @HoodAdventures

      @@HoodAdventures No doubt about it, 5th ward you'll be good as long as you aren't looking for trouble. However the southeast part of houston(sunnyside south park yellowstone blvd. etc.) is a war zone, wouldn't go over there if someone paid me. Anything near almeda, mlk, calhoun rd., reed rd., scott st. is like literally life/death risk.

    I grew up in 5th Ward Hou, Tx, and it's no more dangerous than River Oaks, Tangle Wild, Memorial, The Woodlands or Kingwood. The only difference between 5th Ward & those communities I've named is 5th Ward has frivolous activity dealings and the more upper class communities I've named have their drug dealing, child pornography, sex trafficking etc, behind their gated neighborhoods & inside of their mansions. So to me, those are the most dangerous hoods in Houston.

      Please don’t believe this fool. You don’t want to be walking around 5th ward at anytime of the day. At best one of the “fine citizens” will beg for money, try to get some money forcefully, maybe get robbed, or worse. Don’t stop at a gas station or corner store in this area. Matter a fact avoid it at all costs? Your mammi lives in this area? Get her outta there why you putting her through this. A female you dating lives in this area? Let her her she’s had numerous trains ran on her. You a contractor and working on a house in this area? Call it off and find a different area your tools or truck will go missing. Ran out of gas in this area? Leave the car it’s not worth running into the fine citizens that lurk here.

    Over the decades, dabbled in the northeast Houston. Along Lockwood Ave., Lyons Ave., Jensen Dr., Collingsworth, Market St., Kieth-Weiss Park. Went to a wake and a funeral for a couple of people, practiced softball several times , shopped at a boutique, when I could not find a friend’s boutique, filled up the gas tank a dozen times, played pickup basketball at a YMCA (Calvacade?) and showered at a YMCA on Tidwell Rd.

    He should have went through 5th on Liberty road on a Friday night around 11pm. Everyone would be hanging out. I was born and raised in the heart of 5th ward at St. Elizabeth Hospital on Lyons Ave which have been closed over 50 years. They used to call the Lyons Ave street the Bloody 5th because back in the early 60's, the police do not come out on Lyons Ave after dark. Also, the ambulance would not come after dark. If you was shot or stab to death out on the streets, your body would lay outside until daylight. Then the police would come. Also, my DAD Mr. Mason had a barber shop on Lyons Ave. A lot of famous black musicians came from 5th ward including B.B. King, James Brown, Ike and Tina Turner etc. I had an opportunity to meet B.B. King and James Brown etc when was around 7years old. My dad would fixed James Brown hair in finger waves. They all played at the club Matinee.

    Which is the most dangerous hood in Houston?

    • @HoodAdventures
      @HoodAdventures  2 года назад +1

      It’s several at the moment, Sunnyside & Greenspoint are definitely at the top of the list.

    • @joetaylor2394
      @joetaylor2394 Год назад

      Anyone who knows will tell you to stay out of Greenspoint, and you should take that advice. There’s a very good reason why the rent there is extremely cheap and it’s not because it’s prone to flooding. There’s tons of vacant office buildings there that nobody will lease because of the crime, many apartment properties are less than 20% occupied because if it’s not from floods it’s because of the crime. Since the mall went tits up and Exxon moved to its new HQ in Spring Greenspoint has become a virtual wasteland. Even the City of Houston is struggling with an urban renewal plan that doesn’t involve a wrecking ball and bulldozer to “thin the herd” of dilapidated apartments that have become cost-prohibitive to rehab, particularly when nobody will want to voluntarily move there, even if they have no choice. It’s a boondoggle
