All governments of the world are evil and controlled by Satan that's why they really don't help the poor (1John 5: 19). They will soon reap what they sow (Galatians 6: 7, 8) (Daniel 2: 44).

I was in Southwest Houston just chilling playing video games while the storm was going on. We were so lucky our neighborhood did not get flooded and never lost electricity. I am here now because we have yet another Hurricane headed for Houston, Hurricane Laura in 2020.
It was very hard to see people's livelihood gone at an instant. I lived in it and through it and am truly grateful. Houstonians always come together through crisis. I had a little boat to help people through the waters. I felt bad because the big boat was not running but we did what we could. No matter the outcomes Houston will be strong forever. #HoustonStrong.
I still remember going to the grocery store, right before it hit us, and it was basically empty, just wanted to get extra "just in case". No water, no food... I'm going to prepare better now, since hurricane season is back... #HoustonStrong 🤘💙 Edit: That aftermath smell, was horrible!! Horrible is even an understatement!
Harvey was devastating. My one brother's house was flooded. What some people don't realize, Harvey made landfall close to Corpus Christi and moved up the Texas coast. Pretty much the entire coastline was flooded from Corpus all the way into Louisiana. Devastating flooding. I lived and still live about 35 miles northeast of Houston. At one point my small town was at the top of the list for most rainfall. It was unreal how fast the water rose! And it was so cold, which is unusual for hurricane temps. 4 1/2 years later and there are still some people trying to recover.
My house was flooded by Harvey. I was only 7 and I have a little brother that was only 4 at that time. It took around 2-3 weeks to find a house. We lived at my grandma's house. We found a apartment and a lot of my family stuff was ok but we still lost a lot. I almost cry thinking about that day. I had to walk in the flood water. We called for help a few times but no one came. My family is good know and have been living in the apartment for 3 years know
My house flooded from hurricane Ian and I was lucky I was in a hotel because my house had 4-5 feet of water in it. Living in temporary housing right now.
The one thing I remember is the rain. The rain didn't want to stop. It just kept coming. I remember seeing Upper Bray's Bayou overflowing out of its banks near Highway 6 and the Westpark Tollway
Dawn Baker - ever since racist Europeans stole this land centuries ago, peoples mentalites, and behaviors have gone down hill. This country is still divided in the 21st century because of racist pale skin elite males in grown bodies that/who still controls, and runs the governmen as well as society. It is getting worse.
I am making a music video to raise awareness for a fund that some of my teammates started to raise money for repairs and want to know if i can use the first 30 seconds or so of this video. It does a great job at portraying the type of damage that has occurred here in Houston.
I lived in spring tx during this time. I’m still trying to get things on track not to mention I just loss my husband March 2019. My heart goes out to the ppl are going through similar situation right now today in Texas. I’m praying for better days. In Jesus name amen 🙏.
Also please realize many people live paycheck to paycheck and may not have vehichles to leave. Those who want to stay let them because so many others need and want help! Hopefully they will later take the help but help the ones who really need it!
It was a nightmare for me. My spouse was ordered to work the night it started and was not able to get back into Houston for over a week later, leaving me stranded at home alone the entire time. I did the best I could to save our home. We were so much more fortunate than others. Just 3 blocks from the house flooding was at 6 ft yet somehow it didn't reach mine. I prayed the whole time and felt that God put his arms around me keeping me safe. Soon after we moved away from Houston to be more inland.
Don't live in Humble, Atascosita or Kingwood. These places where devasted in Hurricane Harvey. I live on the otherside of the 45 Veterans Memorial. We didn't flood but the rest of Houston didn't fair to well.
As someone who lived through this, I still panic for about a minute every time it starts to pour heavily. It was awful going through it and it's still awful the effect it still has on us.
The messed up thing is that home builders in Houston are still building homes in flood areas and are even covering water with soil and grass and building homes on top of it it’s a disaster waiting to happen for the owner
It was a school day for me and I woke up to my dad watching the news and telling me that there was a hurricane which was harvey and that they had canceled school but it was raining for a week. after the week past my family and I were so happy to see the sun Monday morning.
So devastating & sad. When the governor says " Our infrastructure is designed for a 100 year flood"...that's a problem. Now they have a once in 1000 year flood. Why would anyone build a whole city in a massive flood plain? Every one donate $$$...they are going to need it.
Many troops are deployed. We have the National Guard, who is currently helping with rescues. Just because they aren't shown in this video doesn't mean they aren't there.
Ive never lived in houston, but why did the city not have levees in place and pump stations to keep water from going back up the storm drains. Also, why do people still keep building at sea level when they know this will happen at least once every 10 years
Houston lies on a fairly flat plain. During Harvey it rained so much that the bayous that empty into the Gulf couldn’t carry the water fast enough to keep the bayous from overflowing their banks. The Addicks and Barker Reservoirs were built to mainly protect western and downtown Houston. They work by collecting the water upstream and then releasing the water into the bayou in a controlled manner. Harvey dumped so much water that water was spilling into the bayou at an uncontrolled rate and they had to open the floodgates more because the dam was threatening to breach. If the dam had broken during Harvey, thousands more would have died. The Army Corps of Engineers has a very tough decision to make during Harvey and I believe they made the correct choice. They chose to sacrifice homes immediately downstream from the reservoirs in order to limit the amount of flooding that could have been done if the dam broke.
I live in Houston I was in Puerto Rico during Harvey then when I came back everything was a lake but then Maria happened in Puerto Rico I should name myself lucky I guess
I lived through tropical storm Allison. When I saw the forecast models I told everyone that I could to leave the Houston area. I warned them that it would be like Katrina but basically everyone had the same attitude. They felt like it wouldn't be nearly that bad. I got the hell out of there as I live near Katy and went to Alabama. Could only watch in horror on tv like everyone else. Took 8 days before I was able to come back home
One guy said he went to a home and the woman had a pittie in a cage that she let drown. WHY KEEP THE DOG IN A CAGE IN THIS INSTANCE??? WHAT A PIECE OF WORK. I'd rather the woman drowned and the pittie was saved.
I went to work the day before Harvey hit. I worked at a doggie hotel and the dogs were acting strange staring at the sky like they knew something was coming! Luckily I made it home safe and road out the storm!
This is why homeowners insurance and flood insurance were invented - people in Houston are used to do this, we get serious storms all the time, we know that in May we must stock up and prepare. As always the question is do we and why people do not

John J---I'm crying for the animals, too. I can't believe that woman left her cats in crates. She should have at least let them free. When the water recedes at least they could have scavenged. Now they will die for sure.
Sadly, when events unfold such as this the animals are rarely thought about as most people are selfish and only think about themselves. I accept that it's not possible to save all animals or humans yet the majority don't even try.
This is crazy it’s been three years and we still haven’t got help with my mothers house she was the one going in the back of the ambulance and I was on back of the truck and my brother was the one interviewed and steering the truck. We’re still looking for resources to help her with her house. We stayed in La Quinta hotel for about a year and half afterwards just thankful we made it through it so many things could of went wrong that night . My mother is on oxygen and was getting close to running out of the spare oxygen cans she had and 911 had her on hold for literally 2 hours and then eventually just. Never answered I know they were overwhelmed with calls so I know there was nothing could do anyways. And the water was freezing it was ridiculous. But I’m so thankful for the responders that came on boat that came up with a plan to pull the truck. Hopefully I can help get her house fix sometime.
