Railfanning On The New Hope Valley Railway With #17 Almost Stalling Out 9/13/2014

I managed to make a trip out to Bonsal NC to the New Hope Valley Railroad in over 14 years. Here we will see the various switching and comings and going of the passenger trains out of Bonsal including a ride behind #17 with her almost stalling out.

I work on the steam crew for #17. On the "almost stalling out", that hill is formidable battle for the engineer and fireman if the rails are not bone dry and free of any oil. We are using #17 at the edge of her capabilities up that grade.
