    My niece was trapped in her car from 7pm Wednesday until Thursday 5am, 2 Good Samaritan rescued her and her fur baby. God bless them 🙏🏽

    Crazy, crazy, crazy. I was driving in Key Largo and Homestead (South Miami-Dade county) and we got hammered with 13 straight hours of rain that came down so hard I couldn't see car tail lights 25 feet in front me, for 13 hours! Every 30 seconds or so like I drove through a water fall, physically shook the car. There was accident or stranded set of vehicles every 1/4 mile for 30 miles in every direction.

    Well, when you have politicians who think that climate change is not real, and when they refuse to act upon it, this is the result. I live in the Netherlands, and if we would have the same attitude towards the conclusions from the scientific community as the Florida leadership has towards the scientific community we would literally drown. For the past 400 years past generations have been managing the water in our entire country in various ways to prevent flooding and droughts. Some stand alone projects did cost hundreds of millions, and took more than a decade to complete, but it was a joint effort from previous generations in order to protect future generations. And we still upgrade the works that protect our country against the water to modern standards. We learned a long time ago that is not wise to ignore the best trained scientific professionals.

      I live in Nassau, Bahamas. I had family who lost EVERYTHING when Hurricane Dorian sat on top of them for DAYS!
      And even as we speak Australia is being hit by Cyclone Ilsa; 150 mph winds (Cat 5). And Cyclone Freddy lasted the entire month of February travelling from Australia to give a running punch to South Africa.

      Well Europe has 1000s of years of history of our people, they renovate old historic buildings and city's where here in the states most rich people have no ethics just tear down old buildings and put up a parking lot, or a new building to make more money, that's what is most important money. We still have power cables hanging in the air! Now on the positive America is easier to live in Europe is so packed and roads are so small and roundabouts everywhere and nowhere to park and fuel prices are almost double there then America.

      "I work customer service for a National media company. Almost everyone in America has our services. I handle mostly residential moves. This year customers are moving in and out of Florida and Texas at an alarming rate. Those moving OUT are polite, and patient, pleasant, and quite open about why they are fleeing the states. The people moving IN are rude, entitled, very unpleasant, and quite open about their racism and bigotry to a total stranger on the phone. There are a lot of different scenarios and estimations when it comes to rising sea levels, and some are severe. “In some scenarios, sea levels will rise up to 31in (79cm) by 2060,” The Guardian reported as I heard.

      It literally is not bad after the Broward/ West Palm Beach line. Only minor flooding in Boca Raton. but we also don't have dog sheet infrastructure like Ft. Lauderdale & Miami does. 😒

    DeSantis will probably ask President Joe Biden for emergency federal aid again for the second time in the past six months -- even though DeSantis himself repeatedly voted against emergency federal funding as a congressman. President Biden should quickly offer assistance and express sympathy for this this type of "climate-related" disaster that keeps occurring.

      These disasters are so costly to the US as opposed to other countries because the US has insane policies that let people build where disasters WILL come, and reimburse them so they can build there again. We need to stop reimbursing for this insanity. Funny how the GOP is OK with *this* form of welfare. But we can't afford to continue.

    My heart goes out to my friends in Florida. This is terrible. It reminds me of what Hurricane Harvey did to the Houston area back in 2017 with some 51" of rain dumped on us. Floridians are resilient and will pull through this mess, just as Texans pulled through Harvey.

    Ft Lauderdale has had very poor infrastructure for at least the last 2 decades, sewage went first, never fixed it, then flooding issues, and now everything else is crumbling.

      It reminds me of a picture from WW II - promoted as a sign that god was on our side. An entire British neighborhood bombed to complete rubble, hundreds dead, but in the picture was a church, undamaged by the bombs.
      I had a Christian show that to me as "proof" that god is good. My reply was, "Why? Because he saved HIS house and let everyone else get bombed to dust?"
