    Personally, even back when we only had the 2019 teaser trailer to go off of, I've always thought the green energy and magic were made from spirit energy like the kind seen all throughout the series such as in Twilight Princess when in twilit areas prior to freeing the light spirits, in BotW via the luminous stones & ghosts of King Rhoam and the Four Original Champions from the time of the Great Calamity 100 years ago. Now that the game is out, I think it's even more likely given what we know about Zonaite, the Shrines of Light, Lightroots, and Zonai magic thru the medium of Rauru's arm, not to mention Mineru's abilities, the form Link takes while wearing the Ancient Aspect armor, and King Rauru & Queen Sonia's appearances in their present-day spirit forms.

    I would totally love a theory about twili and zonai being the same. I've read a few more theories about how zonai, before founding hyrule, split into different factions. One could be the interlopers, mentioned in TP. Also, the sol in TP could be like a different zonai big battery, or condensed energy cells. Look at the end 10:15 where behind the sol hand (forgot their names) there are circles that resemble the zonai. And if you look into the physical appearance for the twili (humanoid form) they even have green markings and dark skin tones, like Rauru. I mean... Tin foil hat 😂

      I don’t even think it’s that crazy anymore honestly so dw you can take the hat off haha
      The more I was talking about the Twili (and especially in the editing phase), it started making a lotta sense that the Zonai would be the Twili after TOTK

    I like the speculation about the Triforce being a source of power a lot actually. Even if it's a lot of guess work I like the idea that malice or "gloom" or whatever it's called now is red and seems to have its own life force to regenerate enemies. This makes sense if that red light force is coming from Power, Ganondorf's source from the Triforce. I've seen in a lot of places that Zonai are often associated with Courage and since the light source is green it makes me wonder if that green light source is the source of power from the Triforce that gives life to constructs and the like too.
    Lots of great ideas here Trends!

      I wonder if that’s the case, whether the sheikah/guardians are supposed to represent wisdom at that point too since that was Zelda’s point of expertise!

    • @Sum_Gi
      @Sum_Gi Год назад +1

      That was the other part I was curious about and I'm glad you agree. Makes sense that Wisdom from the Triforce would power technology, Power would power Malice, and now we see Courage powering both Zonai and the Twili as you said. Now I'm wondering if the Twili and Zonai were similar offshoots like Shikah and Yiga are but that's another story. I like the theory for the Triforce to be in play throughout the world even if we didn't realize it was there.

    Given that there exist Zonai shrines in the sky without corresponding lightroots I would guess that the lightroots came afterwards. The way the surface and the depths reflect each other it seems like it's theoretically possible that the light roots didn't even exist until the upheaval and the appearance of the shrines on the surface.
    This isn't directly related to the topic but it does have to do with zonai technology: I strongly believe that a lot of ancient Sheika tech is based on or inspired by Zonai tech and magic. There's the obvious "had to be there for gameplay" comparisons like the shrines but a very strong piece of evidence is the divine beast masks. Equipping a divine beast mask will cause the avatar of the corresponding sage to don the same zonai-style mask worn by the ancient sage from the flashbacks and also enhances their power. This lets you compare the divine beast mask to the zonai sage mask side by side and realize the designs hold a ton of similarities.

    It's clear to me that Zonai magic and the energy that they use in their technologies are one and the same, but maybe in different forms or concentrations. The Zonai seem to be able to wield this power, much how other powers work in this universe and specific game. Zonaite, however offers a more tangible and efficient source of this energy that can be found, mined, and processed en masse which is why they use it for their technology, allowing it to continue existing without the presence of a Zonai. Precursor constructs probably required manual remote control and/or powering by a Zonai using magic. I think this energy is some sort of spirit energy. Individual Souls exist in the form of flames, but raw spirit energy seems to be a core aspect of reality that can be used in magic, condense into minerals, and form souls. We know of two other energies that can do similar things. The blue divine energy used by the Sheikah can also power technology and form deposits of timeshift stones. The Dark Energy/Malice/Gloom of Demise, Ganon(dorf) is capable of hijacking and taking control of, and therefore powering technology. It can also form liquid-like deposits and be used to form the physical bodies of demons. I do like the idea of the Twili using a form of this energy though.

    The idea of zonaite and whatever powers the palace of twilight being the same thing is super cool, because it allows for a connection between the two races even if most of us at this point probably don't think they're the same race anymore. It makes at least some of the connections feel less like coincidence, which makes it feel more satisfying.

    It's funny how, there's been so many theory videos on The Legend of Zelda Tears of the Kingdom, and how wrong they where, some made no sense like Link time travelling playing as another character from 10,000 years ago, some got disturbing like the Zonai energy being the blood from Ganondorf.
    I find it crazy how fast Nintendo was able to release update patches for the game, I stuck to version 1.1.1.

      Yeh but that’s also in an overworld cave, I mention that somewhere in the vid around the 7 minute mark I’m pretty sure :))
      Edit: Plus since I scripted this video around a month back I’ve played the game a bit more and I think the depths and the sky are the same in a lot of ways… to the point where I’d wager a guess and say if there’s a TON of zonaite in the sky, the islands were originally found in the depths
      The depths are really interesting to me though, not so much the mysteries in them but the mystery behind them as a whole, like what ARE they lmao
