That table jumpscare is so great because it keeps cutting back from bright living room to dark bedroom, so you think the jump is gonna be in one of those shots from the dark shots, cause, you know, that's where the scary stuff usually is. Nope. It's in the bright living room.
I still don’t get why idiots say stuff like this. I’ve seen the movie several times, but I’ve never found joy in spoilers or ruining it for others who may not have seen it.
I thought I'd share my mental disability story real quick: I need constant sound to help me focus because my memory is very bad. You know those times when you forget why you went into a room? It happens once or twice a month, right? I forget what I was doing the second I get up from the couch, multiple times a day. Makes taking my meds really hard lol. Anyway, I need to be listening to something to help my mind kinda straighten out, quiet down the clutter and focus on only a couple things instead. From the moment I wake up, I open up RUclips and look for things to listen to. You guys are in my top 10 channels. I love reaction videos because they have both the movie and the reactor talking at the same time so it's like 2 the price of one. Mrs. Movies is such a unique and mature voice in the community. It's so interesting to hear you guys discuss media. You guys definitely improve my life. So even though we make you guys watch really wild stuff, I appreciate all your work. Thanks again!
I think watching Insidious 2 is necessary to get the full story and tie up all the loose ends of this one. I personally enjoyed 3 as well but I wouldn't say that one and 4 are required.

Absolute classic in the true nerve tangling suspense horror rather than what a lot of lazier ones have been in recent memory of just 1 jump scare to the next. But yes in the best horror sense, this movie kind of created a resurgence in the horror genre. Definitely still holds for scare on edge of your seat level even if already seen it, that is what defines a true classic.
I really enjoyed that James Wan made another iconic horror franchise and Insidious was such a great start. I know the Mrs is gonna be screaming at the jumpscares💀. Like she is gonna hate the lipstick demon and the black bride.

The most interaction I have with Mr. Movies is when I am locking in my selection and if I have an odd question about a pick I am thinking about. That being said, the interactions I do have has been nothing but cordial and professional.

Insidious 2 is great too. It's likely my favorite or at least top3 horror movies of all time. It builds on this movie, insidious 1 and 2 are kinda part 1 and 2 of the same story.

I knew when I saw the thumbnail Mrs. Movies was done for lol. Also, super happy y’all gave Puggapillar a shout out! I love his channel so much! As for the astral travel, I am not sure if I have but I used to lucid dream quite a lot. It takes practice, but I could fly, I could summon anyone into my dreams, but the thing I often liked to do was to ask questions of the things in my dreams. This ended up a big mistake as one time I let something in. The dream, the questions I was asking were being answered by a crowd of people all at once in unison. It was freaky bc as soon as I became aware I was dreaming, everyone stopped, looked at me, and spoke this way. Then as I asked they stopped answering and I heard only one voice, a deep voice from somewhere in the crowd. Everyone else walked away and disappeared and there was a baby left on the bench. When I asked another question it answered in that grown mans voice. I was very disturbed. I knew something was wrong. This had never happened before. I asked it then a question I already knew. It lied. I immediately told it, this convo is over and I turned and transported to my old house. I boarded up the doors and windows bc the house was a representation of my consciousness. I couldn’t let it in. Just then I saw a giant head looking through the windows. It was the man baby thing. It was enormous and trying to get inside. It was just laughing as though my attempts were funny. I still boarded everything up. Then I woke up and I thought I was okay. I fell back asleep and the dream was in my then current house. I was in my room and the phone rang. (I didn’t know I was dreaming.) I had one phone in my room as that is where our internet cable ran through. No one else was picking up, so I picked up and it was a deep mans voice. It said, “Yeah, can I talk to your God?” It laughed. I knew what it was and it just kept asking with changing voice pitches “Can I talk to your God? God? God?” I hung up the phone and ran downstairs my heart pounding, even though I was dreaming. My dream world Mom was asking me what was wrong and I was trying to explain while sobbing. Eventually I woke up for real. But after that for a whole month I had horrible nightmares with demons tearing me to pieces and I could FEEL everything. I was scared to sleep. I didn’t know what to do. Eventually an internet friend got me in touch with someone she knew that was Wiccan and they did some kind of trap spell. Never had a problem since and I stopped lucid dreaming on purpose. I don’t open those doors anymore.
The 2nd movie fits together really well with the first. If you're interested it would be worth it to watch it while the first movie is still fresh in your mind.
I saw this movie alone in the movie theater. Like just me and this movie. It scared me to death but it’s so much fun. It has some of the most well-crafted jump scares that exist. James Wan doesn’t believe in fake jump scares. Every single one of them in this movie is for real, no cats jumping into frame or stupid people playing around.

He also was in AHS Freak Show too. ALSO! AHS Murder House used some of the music/score from this movie

Absolutely did not disappoint. Fantastic reaction from you both, and hell, even the Mr. jumped pretty good once or twice which is awesome. I had to laugh at the Mrs' "hand fort" that she was rocking for a while; very effective way to still watch the movie while maintaining a comfortable protective barrier, and only MILDLY reminiscent of a hermit crab haha! Anyways, great job as always Mr. and Mrs. Movies! If you delve further down the rabbit hole, I'll gladly watch along as well.

I always think it's kind of a shame when a franchise banks on it's initial success by running amok with sequels, but the Insidious movies are good enough that I'm not too butthurt over it. James Wan has been working on 2 Stephen King remakes. One is comeplete and has been being pushed back for some reason…its Salems Lot (which you reacted to the original already)…the second one is the Tommyknockers which I believe is currently in the works. Bruh I remember watching this at the theater, for the record I used to get seizures as a kid pretty bad, so during the circle table scene my brother was covering my eyes. And his screaming in my ears was the most terrifying part.
What the sequels, and most horror movies these days, don't seem to realise is that jump scares aren't scary unless you've built up some suspense beforehand.
The reason she was wearing that mask when trying to contact Dalton is because she has to whisper in order to not attract the other entities. She was whispering and her helper guy was listening and repeating what she said. When she screamed, it led all the entities to them.
The first time I watched this I spotted the man standing behind the curtain and kept telling my sister there is someone standing there. The red face one scares the crap out of me. I used to have nightmares about it.
Mrs. Movies loved the jumpscares I'm sure lol 😆 I hope y'all do the final conjuring movie comes out next year it's going to be bittersweet I remember seeing the first in 2013 in theatres nearly shit myself just like Mrs movies did those were some of the first reactions I watched of you guys to.
You kind of end up needing to watch at least 2 and 3 to get the full story of this family (as far as I remember The Red Door and The Last Key are sort of spin-offs). It can be interesting to go back and rewatch this and 2 as well after finishing the trilogy - a few things start to make a little more sense in light of the third one.
My girlfriend at the time didn't sleep right for over two weeks. Love this film! Honestly though, I couldn't get certain things outta my head either. Don't waste too much time in between movies! 'Preciated the Rolling Stones reference 🤘
The demon pacing on the balcony then suddenly being in the house is still top tier shookness for me lol. As much as I love Insidious, the sequels are just not good and would definitely not recommend. One of the sequels, I can't remember which one has an interesting spin on the story of the first movie for a few scenes, but that's about it.
Loved the multiple playbacks of Mrs Movies reaction to the big scare. 😝 You have to watch the rest of them. #2 picks up where this one leaves off to finish up this storyline.

Fwiw, Insidious 2 is good and provides more backstory to the ghosts. I know 3 isn't everyone's cup of tea but I actually quite like it a lot, and frankly it's the scariest and most disturbed of them all, imo. Haven't seen 4 but I enjoyed The Red Door. That might be more in line with the Mrs.'s taste as it's mostly a family drama about past trauma with horror near the end.
Yall HAVE to watch at least Insidious 2 as it has a lot of great scares and youll get a complete resolution of the first movies storyline as it finishes it off. The 3rd one and after follows completely different characters
Watch the next one and then after that, watch Insidious the Red Door. The other ones like 3 and 4 are about other cases with Elise and are prequels. But the red door is a continuation of this families story

@@mcentepede I'd say I'm in complete agreement with you there. I always think it's kind of a shame when a franchise banks on it's initial success by running amok with sequels, but the Insidious movies are good enough that I'm not too butthurt over it. Definitely a great watch, and really fun for reactions!

James Wan has been working on 2 Stephen King remakes. One is comeplete and has been being pushed back for some reason…its Salems Lot (which you reacted to the original already)…the second one is the Tommyknockers which I believe is currently in the works. Im a King fan and I think Wan is gonna do both justice

Bruh I remember watching this at the theater, for the record I used to get seizures as a kid pretty bad, so during the circle table scene my brother was covering my eyes.
And his screaming in my ears was the most terrifying part.
What the sequels, and most horror movies these days, don't seem to realise is that jump scares aren't scary unless you've built up some suspense beforehand.
The reason she was wearing that mask when trying to contact Dalton is because she has to whisper in order to not attract the other entities. She was whispering and her helper guy was listening and repeating what she said. When she screamed, it led all the entities to them.
The first time I watched this I spotted the man standing behind the curtain and kept telling my sister there is someone standing there.
The red face one scares the crap out of me. I used to have nightmares about it.

This is probably my favorite modern horror movie! The low budget of only 1,5mil hurts it a bit at some scenes, but the atmosphere is incredible.

You kind of end up needing to watch at least 2 and 3 to get the full story of this family (as far as I remember The Red Door and The Last Key are sort of spin-offs). It can be interesting to go back and rewatch this and 2 as well after finishing the trilogy - a few things start to make a little more sense in light of the third one.

My girlfriend at the time didn't sleep right for over two weeks. Love this film! Honestly though, I couldn't get certain things outta my head either. Don't waste too much time in between movies! 'Preciated the Rolling Stones reference 🤘
The demon pacing on the balcony then suddenly being in the house is still top tier shookness for me lol. As much as I love Insidious, the sequels are just not good and would definitely not recommend. One of the sequels, I can't remember which one has an interesting spin on the story of the first movie for a few scenes, but that's about it.

Another of James Wan’s movies that you should check out is “Malignant”.
Fwiw, Insidious 2 is good and provides more backstory to the ghosts. I know 3 isn't everyone's cup of tea but I actually quite like it a lot, and frankly it's the scariest and most disturbed of them all, imo. Haven't seen 4 but I enjoyed The Red Door. That might be more in line with the Mrs.'s taste as it's mostly a family drama about past trauma with horror near the end.
