  • The Dagger OSMO 2 is a lightweight, packable yet spacious two-person tent that works for backpacking and casual overnight adventures thanks to its roomy interior. Its single-pole setup and freestanding design make it incredibly quick and simple to set up, taking just 5 minutes with a bit of practice.

    I'm cross-shopping with a Big Agnes Copper Spur 3 and this review has been incredibly helpful. I love the colour combo Nemo chose here.

    I bought the tent nearly a month ago and used it once so far. As far as I am able to tell you were pretty spot on with the details of the tent. I would say it is by far my favorite out of the other tents I have. The lifetime warranty does make a difference if you are worried about price, even heard of someone buying a discounted damaged Dagger and used the warranty to get it fixed up like new.
    With the weight, you can split the fly and the poles for each person (it is a two person tent so splitting the weight isn't an issue here), remove the landing zone, replace the stakes since they are heavy, and remove the bag for the poles.

    Great video. Not advertised as one, but this tent can be pitched outer first if you buy the footprint.

    • @steviesteve750
      @steviesteve750 Год назад

      That is really useful to know! I always buy a matching footprint if i can, it's a no brainer. The one big minus for this tent is inner first pitch, but if that can be overcome it's a gamechanger. Still not sure it's 3 season, though, looks like summer and relatively calm conditions, not sure I'd want to be in it on the coast of Pembrokeshire in November, but I guess I have other much heavier and stronger tents for that.

    Great review, I just wish it was closer to 3lbs like the Hubba Hubba and Copper Spur. I really like the Dagger, but not sure it is worth the extra weight compared to the MSR or BA?

    • @trekitt
      @trekitt  Год назад +1

      The weights may vary depending on where you're buying the tent. Here both tents are identical in their minimum weight and only approx 100g apart when packed.

    Hi great vid. I've just bought one (not used yet) but I've noticed you had yellow cross over pole going underneath black pole and other vids show it on top of blackpole, does it matter ? cheers

    • @trekitt
      @trekitt  Год назад

      Good spot-can't imagine it makes a huge difference but probably best to go with yellow over the top as that seems to be how NEMO have it in their images.

  • @Pieter-JanGoovaerts

    Great video, big thanks! If you have the footprint, are you able to pitch the Dagger fly first?

    • @trekitt
      @trekitt  5 месяцев назад +1

      It is technically possible to pitch fly first with the footprint, but it is a little faffy to do it.

  • @mrmods7912
    @mrmods7912 10 месяцев назад

    So you have to buy more stakes for the guy lines?

    Looking to get a UL 2 person tent, and this look interesting. What about the gap around the fly though, it sits awfully high up, so doesn't look remotely like 4 season capable?

    • @trekitt
      @trekitt  Год назад

      It's 3-season rated. Definitely not up to 4 season use due to its lightweight nature.

    • @trekitt
      @trekitt  Год назад +1

      Very. I'd say it's one of the easiest tents we have to set up as there aren't any pole sleeves like in most beginner tents.

    I have 2 26" sleeping pads from Kiko gear.. I know the 10 says it's 50" wide but do you think it can squeeze an extra 2"?

    • @trekitt
      @trekitt  4 месяца назад

      Whilst you probably could, we wouldn't ideally recommend it as you'd be putting extra pressure on the bathtub of the tent, especially when two of you are lying down on your mats. Nemo also do a 3-person version of the Dagger Osmo and honestly for the small extra weight penalty that extra wiggle room is welcome.

      I own the 3P. It's really nice to have that extra space inside when using it with 2 persons. Especially when you consider it has the same pack size but just a little bit more weight.
