It is called Aidan in my Yoruba language in Nigeria. Our forefather used it for so many health and spiritual benefits. Some times I wonder how our fore fathers and mothers know so much about plants, herbs, and roots. During covid 19 pandemic, my mother cured my cough with this wonderful herb, after failure of drugs.

It's has been a flavour we use since when I was a child in the 80s here in Igbo part of Nigeria. Ghana is not a monopoly of the fruit.
In my dialect it is called "Oshasha". We use it mainly to cook Porridge Yam.
