- I had previously been trying to diagnose a Fiat Ducato Motorhome that wouldn't start, but when I was last there I forgot to put the memory card in the camera before setting off in the morning! I had tried to diagnose with the computer but I was getting intermittent signal from the engine ECU. I thought it may be a wiring issue so I got on with opening all the wires. I couldn't find any wiring fault and when I rechecked it, with everything plugged back in, I wasn't able to get any signal at all from the engine ECU. I sent it off to be checked and repaired and thankfully they found a fault with it! So today I had to return to get it all tidied back up and refit the ECU and see if it would actually start!

That loom looked like a dogs breakfast but you got it squared away and damn if it didn't start straight up 👍

How did you go on with your re test with the van
Passed mate no advisories. I’ve had a bit of stick for cleaning and painting that brake pipe but anyone who is actually in the industry knows that pipe was more than fine and the tester was being picky

It’s sounds like a immobiliser problem did they only have one key for this vehicle ?
It was the engine ECU that was faulty
Aaron my bloody 21 plate vivaro has blown up on me leaving me without a van to work out of. Bought it brand new and I have no confidence in anything new. Looking at an older vito with the 2.1 engine. Any van you would recommend?
Nightmare Jack! Sorry to hear that buddy. I’ve always been a fan of VW’s. Obviously a bit more expensive but I’ve never really had issues with the ones I’ve had.
Surely you started taping from the wrong end... and using that electrical tape instead of wiring loom fabric tape is not right!
All the wires were taped using electrical tape not the fabric stuff so I just went with what was already on it 👍

Its "Non" Starter , not "None"
I’m pretty sure it can be either “None Start” or “Non Starter” anyway I couldn’t fit non starter onto the thumbnail. You know what I meant 😜
