You really saved me a lot of time and frustration. Great advice and heads up on the tricky parts. Only 15 minutes of rubrics - generator and 5 minutes of cussing, a personal best. Thank you!
I wanna say Big Thanks for this video. I used it to replace my 09 Sienna's Alternator, it made it an easier job than otherwise. Thanks 👍 and Blessings 🙌 🙏!
This is the way, folks. It works, and it works well. A few additions to these excellent instructions: When you first loosen the alternator, point the pulley down in the space underneath the coolant pipe. This allows you to take the angle bracket off the back right-side bolt. Remove the bracket before trying to take the alternator out. The solution to the rubik's cube is to flip the alternator in place 180 degrees so the pulley is now facing the driver's side of the vehicle. Then remove it by allowing the coolant pipe to pass between the mounting flanges on the alternator. Get the new alternator in by doing these steps in reverse. Works like a charm.
Super inportant please read - the serpentine belt tensioner has an allan key slot for locking it in the loose position so you have two hands to put the belt on
I did this today, hands down the worst alternator ive ever done, taking it out was a huge pain in the ass, luckily the new one dropped right in easy peasy
Dude you rule you just made one part of my life way easier
