Great! Except that my new iPhone 14 does not have this overdubbing feature on iOS 18.2 :(
I'm always blown away by your awesome Logic tips, was def not expecting that voice to come out when you started singing, holy cow
thank you so much!!
These are nice additions to Voice Memos, if singing melodies and lyrics are your way of starting song ideas. It's funny by the way, how they acknowledged musicians and songwriters were using Voice Memos, so they tried to spin off a Music Memos app for them, but they kept using Voice Memos so now they're back to adding features for musicians in Voice Memos. These features just show Apple cares about people who make music, which they have done since bundling Garageband in Macs for two decades. If Apple isn't your thing, you don't have to buy their products. If you do, you get these nice features.
Good on You SEIDS! Happy Xmas!✌🙏
Your singing touches me.
the quality of the recording from the iphone its pretty insane, same with my macbook pro I have an apple m1 max and the other day I was just recording ideas in logic pro x thru the macbook microphone thinking I would need it to change it later and record it properly in my condenser microphone but no... it sounded really amazing , seids it will be amazing if you do a tutorial on how to record an entire/partial song with your Iphone as a mic to see how it sound everything finish with some little mixing, it would be a game changer for a lot of people I think, and probably the quality in general its going to be just like a song which it's in the top charts, thanks for this.
Works on iPhone 15, too. Thanks!
Wow, I never knew about the stem splitter! Thank you!
This is game changing!
It is impressive what a phone can do. And I guess this can be a useful feature when you're on the go... But considering you need an iPhone 16 it not for those on a budget. You can get a Neumann TLM 102 + a small audio interface for less than an iPhone 16. Even Though the app is a nice feature, I would keep my old iPhone Xr (on witch I use the voice memo for recording ideas) and get a good microphone. Great voice by the way!
This is a game changer for all the songwriters in our community! Thx for the video. Write on! CM
I have the new iPhone.. but I don’t have that + sign to do another track .. ? The + sign doesn’t show up when I hit edit ? Is there a down load for that or a button I need to turn on .. ?
What was the purpose of stem splitter in this example? I’m confused.
she was listening to the backing track on speakers when recording the vocals, so the voice memo had some of that instrumental in the background together with her vocals. stem splitter removed that background so that her recorded vocal track is just clean vocals which can be more easily processed and then mixed back into the track. really cool how Apple has integrated all these features in an easy-to-use way!
@@KevinTPLim that’s right. I forgot she had that in the background. Thank you!
This is pretty damn incredible‼️
So does this completely replace the need for fadr or similar- how do they compare when we are talking stem splitting?
Another fun thing I’ve been doing is using the iPhone 16 as the logic input and it’s wirelessly Bluetooth synced directly into my audio track.
Thank you for such clear, detailed and thorough explanation. I enjoyed this so much.
oh bummer. I have an iPhone 14 super mega plus but it seems not to have that double voice record option 🥺 I am so antiquated, I hate myself!!
Wow you disgust me
@@fledgling5616 Why? He is right. As a human being you are worthless with an iPhonne 14. He should be punished by the UN security council.
Is there a way to hear yourself while recording on memos
Ive been using voice notes for a minute and so these updates are really cool. The crazy part is I didn’t even think to stem split my own music out of my voice which is so awesome!!! Thank you for sharing 🙌🏾
Fantastic Seids, brilliant, I love Apple as well, might have to upgrade........ouch!
Terrific! 🙌
Thank you! Sadly, there is no undo in the Voice Memos so I don’t suggest cutting any of the sound lengths in-app.
Thanks!
Hi! Love your channel & tips. Is this only for iPhone 16 pro or does this work for the regular old iPhone 16 too? Are there any other reasons for musicians recording at home to get the 16 pro over the 16. Thank you!😊
Stem splitting has been around for a bit now and available for pc aswell.. can take apart vocals and instruments using any sound capture device! I use UVR.
just google around
this udpate is amazing! thank u for the heads up!
Quistion is that only for I phone 16 couse I have 15promax
Which iPhone do you have? Does it have improved microphones…if so even in the base 16?
Will this also work on iPad with M4 chip?
This is so cool! GREAT video.
Is there a minimum MacOS version requirement?
How do you get to the Audio settings to change it to Lossless?
There is a lot of hardware gear that this technique can replace and eliminate altogether and my izotope Spire is pretty nervous lol 😂😂
Thanks for sharing this tip Seids!
You need to have an Apple Silicon Mac (M1 and above) for the stem splitting in Logic, and an iPhone 16 Pro or iPhone 16 Pro Max for the multi-layer recordings
The newest version of iPhone . iPhone 16
Settings > Apps (at the very bottom) > Voice Memos
Ha! That's pretty awesome! Nice vocals too!
Which iPhone 16 model? There are 4 models. Does this update work on all 4 of them?
only on the iPhone 16 Pro models
Very cool! Nice vox!
Do you know if we can do the stem splitting In actual voice memo or simply on the iPhone? Funny to watch a video speaking of a cool voice memo feature and actualy it’s a Logic feature loool. But thanks, awesome!
this is a very good technique. I shall recommend it to my students:-)
Great video! New sub & book buyer here, love yr content. I'm reading comments and it seems this still works on the older iPhones, but I guess it stops with my iPhone 11 Pro Max. Nope, the quotation marks don't show up when I edit the recording. For folks who still want to use this function, I'm recommending the free app called Just Press Record, I've been using it for ages to jot down voice memos that are transcribed in real time. It's not always totally accurate but hey, it connects to iCloud or Dropbox, records Wav/AAC or AIFF up to 32bit, 48kHz, I love it. There are some editing options as well and it recognizes external mics. It can also connected to an Apple Watch and I can record music ideas while driving for example. I put the app in one of the complications so it's easy to reach without taking my eyes from the road. My 2c 🙂
very cool!
Thanks
Amazinggggg🔥🔥🔥
at start i was sceptic, but after i said... wow. You're clever, congratulations. Greetings from Hungary 😉
Thanks for this great tip. I record a ton of ideas on my phone and this transcription feature is just great. Thanks again Seids for this and your other amazing ideas with the new Logic.
Damn - that’s wild 👍
That was incredible thank you for that information. I’m a producer as well and song writer. What a great way to put down an inspiration immediately and sing harmony! Mind blown!
yes I love it!!!
@@SEIDS_wow I just opened it and it says it transcribes? That is a content creators dream come true! Very helpful information keep it up!! Great Chanel! Thank you!
Cool , sadly stem splitting isn’t an option for an intel Mac.
always showing the most amazing tips! your my go to youtube for tips and logic's workflow!
The 16 pro max mics are phenomenal period. Studio quality with no external mic.
This works on my M1 iPad Pro too!
Hey does your ebook cover logic pro for ipad as well?
No! But maybe I will add a chapter in the future : )
Very cool trick! Stem splitting is so much fun to do! I haven’t tried it on Logic yet but have for Cubase and Spectralayers. I use Voice Memo’s as well. I like how iPhone 16 works with layers. I have iPhone 14 Pro Max and Cubase Pro. I’m drinking from the not-so-kool aid but it still tastes good 🙈. Koolaid video y0.
wow that's great. thank you
Nice one. I have the iPhone 14, and I think the only feature missing from your demo is multiple layers. Still seems to have transcription and iCloud sync. Drag and drop into Logic and stem splitting. So, still handy, even if not on the latest and greatest model.
always fresh, always new.......Great Content!
Definitely worth using! I knew about the vocal layers but didn't know you could lay down vocals AND music then use a stem breakout!? What??
Thank you for this. You also have a pleasant singing voice. Acknowledging you "drank the kool aid" was pretty cool. You're not the only one but at least you're keeping it real!
Thank you very much! Great video, great voice, amazing new options! Just one question I have - why we have to separate/split iPhone records? I lost, sorry 🥹
Does it come to my ipad?
Thank you. I learned this from my phone yesterday, but you explained it nicely.
This is lit 🔥
Fast forward to 1:50, cool info
Very good. I wish Apple would add voice memo to CarPlay so that I can play a mix down directly from the car screen or using Siri.
This is very cool! but what does it have to do with GarageBand?
Gianni❤
I wonder if you could load a track into it and then layer vocals on top?😊
You didn’t cover all the features. I saw a drums and bass icon in the menu. Does this new update do what Music Memos does? (Before Apple killed it off). Can you add automated bass and drum parts?
Type in stem splitter on google
Aside from the apple ecosystem which is great it’s possible to do this process with ANY computer or sound recording device apple or android
Sound splitting via Ai that really what the hype this.. it’s fire
Apple is just so easy to use.
I feel click-baited.
LOL.
No wayyy
Pro tools versiooon😂
Me too
superb
I need your book for tips
very nice voice..keep it up
I wanted to hate this feature so bad, but alas, you got me. My poor 15 Pro Max, though. She's not ready to be replaced!
Great they should put effects slots for IAA and AU into the app, like every single iOS music creation app out there. This is nice but I’d just as soon use AudioShare or AUM.
Thanks girl 👧 /Jamie parks studio 🎙 /wow!!!!!
Very cool!
Always love your video's! I can tell it blew your mind by the look of your hair. ;) I say this with great affection! :)
Nice!
I’ve been doing it with my iPhone 14 for some time (this process of recording with voice memo then importing it to logic, using stem splitter to isolate the vocals). I didn’t get why you should have the iPhone 16 to do it. Is it because it has a better mic? Maybe you were talking strictly about the transcription tool?
Anyway, love your videos and bought the ebook. Very cool! Cheers
Actually , this update works with my 14pro which has the most recent update .
Recording guitar straight onto your iPhone, yeah, if ya doing acoustic, but electric guitar, I doubt it, you’d need to be doing that DI and with an amp and audio interface
What do you mean you can double vocals in the voice memos!!!!!?
You can use the Phone as an audio input and record directly into Logic instead.
Thanks…
5:23 Use headphones and save yourself the trouble of stem splitting!
Very impressive singing. I have no idea why the transcription of words should not be available on older iPhones - eg 14 Pro ... as this is a software capability that should be achievable.
Very nice
It's mind-blowing 311.000 times.
love your vids, apparently , apple has some work cut out for them, you sang "i wanna soak you up", and apple came back with "i want a so cute"
You didn't mention that Apple includes Auto-Tune/Payne Effect in this new update.
That's kind of cool. But IMHO all the work Apple put into this new Voice Memo could have been better invested in the return of ARA. 🤔
Nice voice🎉
Crying in 2017 Intel Mac that can’t get the newest update 😢
except a good mic costs less than an iPhone 16
but you can't call someone on it ;) or get directions, the internet, take photos... videos... you get it !
@@SEIDS_ fair enough. In any case, you're on fire miss💥
I love how you love Apple.. I also loved apple about 30 years ago..
now i despise them,, i think they totally sold out and most of their current stuff is rubbish and fails at really basic stuff ALL THE TIME::
I'm desperate to escape.. as soon as i can afford to.. and have figured out how to.. thanks Seids.. your'e a gem as always.. ;8)
Wrong. She loves money from Apple.
So it is not for the 15 pro max sad
My phone does the same thing (omits words), "I want a so cute Wash the pain away, I want to feel your I want you to beg me to stay."
I like your voice. The casual recording posture with surprise levels of expression. I only drink half of the koolaid, so don’t have the latest iPhone, preferring my Samsung for most phone use, but I wanna come back just to relish your sweet sounding cords.
Can confirm that overdubbing feature is NOT implemented in Voice Memos on my iPhone 13 Pro running iOS 18.2. The transcribe feature DOES work.
Of course, I can always go over to GarageBand (or some other app) if I want to do an immediate demo with 2 or more tracks).
My iphone 13 pro does that too😅
You can literally record directly in logic through the iPhone mic, no memos app needed
Very cool, but just so you guys know, you don’t have to get the brand new iPhone to have this function. I have the 13 Pro Max, and with the new iOS, I’m able to do the same thing that she’s talking about.
Very cool that she did this video, because I never knew it could do that.
Didn’t kno u can split stems either 🙏
