@joa1232 What's interesting is that for a lot of bands now, touring is how they make their money. One of my favourite bands Symphony X talked about this recently, how they haven't put out a new album in awhile because they have to keep touring to support themselves. So that might affect the equation.
I think the more and more we move towards perfection the more people will long for imperfect soulful music. I don't see AI as a threat as much as a fantastic tool. It's still going to take an Artist to write a great song, develop the image and persona, go out and perform, and hustle to make it successful. That being said, I'm curious how AI will be implemented in creating music for film scores, video games, or any other medium that doesn't require an artist or live element. We shall see!
Excellent point. Nowadays a lot of people underestimate the importance of live performances when it comes to an Artist's bottom line. That's still a significant chunk, and I'm super curious to see how AI plays into that. I've seen a few bands use Autotune live, which is kindof a bummer. I would imagine if someone used AI to completely change their voice (and people found out), it would be Milli Vanilli all over again.
@songsbyspencer I need to make vocals like Paul Rogers or Ray Gillan. I have been keeping an eye on what's available, and so far, no one has been able to do it. I'm sure they'll get there in time though. There is a market for it. I've seen a lot of people looking for the same thing.
The advancements in AI are remarkable, but art thrives on human expression. The moment an artist conveys emotions through their art is unique and irreplacable. If AI were to develop its own consciousness one day, that might change. But until then, the human aspect of art remains indispensable. It's this magic that happens, this profound connection between the artist and the listener. That defines music - something AI cannot truly create.
I agree. And anything AI creates is going to be derivative of a authentic human creation. One thing I do like about this software is that it bases the AI voice off of your own performance. So it still requires a real artist to create something for it to work off of.
@@songsbyspencer AI can undoubtedly be a helpful tool in creative processes - for example, I’m writing a book with the assistance of AI, which enhances my creativity. However, when it comes to music, singing, or playing an instrument, these forms of expression hold a completely different quality. They carry a deeply human connection and emotional energy that AI simply can’t replicate. I’ve also noticed that AI-generated music often feels off in some way. The frequencies seem strange to me, and I sometimes feel a pressure in my solar plexus when listening to it. Music is more than sound; it’s a profound expression of the soul, whether shared with others or experienced personally. While AI can be a tool, the core magic of music lies in its human essence. I can’t help but question the purpose of using AI to create a voice that takes over what is arguably the most joyful part of the process - expressing oneself through music, and I say that as a singer. Music, especially for those who see it as an outlet for emotions and the soul, isn’t just about entertainment or commercial success. It’s about connection - with oneself and with others - and that’s something deeply human and we should cherish and protect that.
I recently watched a video with a link to a challenge/test. They mixed a bunch of pics together. Half were from actual artists and half were done by generative AI prompting. They asked people to guess which were human and which were AI. At the end you were asked which picture you liked the most. Also asked was an opinion on AI art. Those who said they disliked generative AI art and that it was easy to tell the difference actually did the worst in choosing which was which. The majority of those people also picked an AI picture as their favorite.
You fed it a good vocal to being with (compliment). How does this perform when the person uploading data isn't a singer? That's the point of the software I would guess.
What you get out is largely dependent on what you put in. That being said, they have built in pitch correction tools that can help if you're not the best singer. And if you have pitch correction tools in your DAW that you can apply to the dry vocal, that would help as well! My most recent video covers another AI software where you give it midi notes and lyrics and it generates professional vocals from it! It's called Ace Studio, and that would probably be more useful if you're not confident in your singing abilities. Hope that helps!
It has its place it has possibilities as a creative asset. But the human voice coud never be duplicated and should not be ignored in its endless potential. This could make voice artist lazy and not craft their own talent so to me it is a double edge sword.
Very good point! When used properly I see this as a phenomenal tool and creative asset. That being said, real people making real human music is always going to be special, and I sincerely hope that never goes away!
What an amazing video. Very creative presentation. I still am so lost, being a visual artist. Have no clue what reverb is, and all those terms, plus then have to set up an audio recording studio I know nothing about and do not like speaking. Would be so much easier to have you do it for me. All these voice places have limits. I tried text to speech softwares, including the best Eleven Labs to get my affirmation voice, and they all end robotically, not normal with varying each sentence's ending, and caps on how many minutes I can get. I want 10 minutes per video. Are you able to just speak my affirmations that I send you that you let me choose a voice for, or know a better way? I've been stuck for so long at getting my affirmation channel going because of this one voice issue thing I do not know the answer for. I just want it done quick where I do not have to waste time speaking, editing, or running into a myriad of obstacles, and then needing more software for each. You make it look so effortless. Do you sell a service like this? I just found you and don't know a thing about you other than being blown away in your video.
I can see myself using it for background vocals/harmonies for sure. Hopefully they’ll come up with more voices that might be a little less pop. Maybe folk/indie/country, etc.
There's a bunch of voices on there (some for folk and country) and they're adding more all the time. I've found it really helps if you can sing close to the style. For example, I sang with an exaggerated country twang on the country line, and that made the conversion a lot cleaner.
this is great to help males and females sing opposite-sex songs. I was trying to find smthg that would transform my vocals into a 'deep voiced male' for hip hop vocals. this fits so thanks!
I think for those of us (like me) that are musicians (I'm a pianist) and songwriters, this could really help. My voice is OK and I can use Melodyne to fix my pitch issues. I'd think a corrected vocal of an OK but not vocalist quality performance (like mine are) would yield decent results.
It will! I've used it a number of times in the last week on super high vocals that are way out of my range. I sang it falsetto, autotuned it, uploaded it, and set it to a woman and it sounded great. It still had a falsetto sound but it was much more pleasant.
You are genuinely talented. If anyone wants to use AI, they should be intelligent in the first place. I like all what you're doing ❤ I am following you from Morocco 🇲🇦
Personally, I like the original recording without AI. I think part of the reason I'm not as moved by artificial intelligence/synthetic voices, though it has gotten impressively fantastic, is that I use synthetic speech quite a bit since I can't read print. I also read braille a lot, and I can't live without it when I'm doing programming work. But because artificial voices is just something I've dealt with for so many years, to me, it's just like another thing. I don't think anything can really replace the beauty of an actual human voice and the raw talent behind it. I will grant that the idea of artificial voices singing is neat, not to sound like a stick in the mud. I've definitely done my share of playing around with different voices. I wouldn't say I'm an advanced audio editor yet, but I've learned quite a bit, and it's just really cool to create different projects and goof around.
@ Very true. I think that's part of why I love live and intimate concerts where the performer is singing just to a small audience and there's just a guitar and/or piano. Anyway, on a last but maybe fun note about synthetic music, way back in the early 2000s, There was this brilliant blind teenager who created singing files from a synthesizer called DecTalk that was super popular back in the 80s and 90s. It was originally used to announce the weather if I remember correctly, but then it became the voice for screen readers such as JAWS. Anyway, you could do all kinds of goofy stuff like make it sing. So Patrick, this brilliant teenager, who later became an audio engineer, created a bunch of complex singing DECTalk files. Then several other people followed suit, and they were pretty complex stuff for the time. I'm sure if you search for them either on the Internet or on the Wayback machine, you can find them. That might make your ears cringe slightly because it definitely doesn't sound human at all, but it's still pretty hilarious. And kind of a big deal back then. I never learned to do any of that, I remember thinking that one day, synthetic voices are going to be taken to a whole new level and they would sound much more human like…
Hi Spencer, what wonders me most is if AI can create really something new and great? Like let Karen Carpenter (RIP) with her wonderful voice let sing a great song of today in her unique style. Or let Fritz Wunderlich sing Wagner's Lohengrin which he couldn't because he died with 36. Or can we pick ABM's famous piano record made in the 40ths of Brahms' Paganini variations and let it sound like a new digital record?
I don't think that exists yet, but I'm sure it's only a matter of time! There are already tools that can generate music from a text prompt. The technology probably already exists, but getting the estates of famous artists to allow it will probably never happen, and I think that's a good thing.
singing is more then just sounding nice. It's about expressing your soul, yourself, your personality. What pleasure is there in hearing a computer sing?
I totally see where you're coming from and respect it. For me, this tool is incredibly useful for background vocals, as well as creating a demo that another singer can use as a reference. Since this tool is a converter, it does a pretty good job preserving the characteristics of your voice even after the conversion.
I think the harmony would spund better if you sang the 2nd part and then converted it to the female voice. Very cool all the same. Def gonba try this out
Great video Spencer. My question: is it possible to clone our voice from old cassette recordings, after isolating them with Ai from possible background noise? I wonder how large the sample needs to be to make cloning possible and if it needs to include all alphabet letters.
@@songsbyspencer Great, but is there any imformation about the amount of the available words that are necessary? What if we have only 10 words spoken on the tape?
nice demo. I think for the harmonies, there needs to be more variation in the AI parts for timing, volume, and (a little) pitch. It sounds too locked in (robotic) to me. almost there.
It's absolutely incredible, but how well does it work for us mere mortals who can't sing quite as capably as you? Does it have any tools to manage natural vocal incompetence?
First off, thanks for the kind words! The software has pitch correction built in. You can set the key and the strength of the pitch correction prior to converting it. So yes, there are some tools to help clean up your vocals!
This is what seperate the men and the childrens. If youre not a good signer dont expect those result even with pitch correction... garbage in = garbage out

You know, this is an interesting tool for a specific use case: song writes trying to sell their music. Being able to cut cost for, eg an opposite-sex vocalist, puts more money in the pocket of the songwriter. Not necessarily great if you’re a session guy, but hey….
It does not, as of now everything needs to rendered. I'm sure a real time converter will be available soon! This AI tech is developing incredibly fast.
Man...I just don't know. Being an artist and vocals for sure are not my strong point I am so tempted to use this. It definitely goes against my grain. But is it any different than using spell check which I just used in this comment lol?
Exactly. Is this any different than Autotune? I see both sides but I more see it as a super useful tool that producers can use to come up with ideas. If it lowers the barrier of entry and gets more people creating music I see it as a good thing!
As I'm not that good as you in singing and holding notes, it would be interessting what you can recieve without that skills within that tool. However, about your question - I find the solo voices very natural attractiv, and the harmonie ones better than of my 20 years old TC-Harmony, but still artifical. When we talk about 20 years evolution and solutions by TC, Antares, Waves etc. by years now, the greatest qualitative achievement here is that you can locate the voices better in the approach or accent. But not in the actual sound of the harmony. That's sounds for me like as you can reach before AI...
Neat. But I don’t like the idea of it being on a website instead of my computer. They’re basically using you to train AI and then sell it back to you. But, I love all your other videos and I’m subscribed! Gianni❤

That’s crazy how good that sounds
I know it! It's almost unbelievable.
You didn't do anything other than preview the file on the website and it already sounds better than anything I come up with.
thank you for that.
It helps A LOT I mean A LOT when you
Thanks for making Dystopia so attractive.
I love it !
Enjoy the ride!
You have a really nice voice you don't need AI your voice is pretty nice
Thanks! I mostly use it for background vocals. It's awesome when I need some woman in the background!
Your voice is really good as it is. You don’t need AI. lol
I appreciate that!
That intro was dope
Thanks! I take tremendous pride in my intros. Ya gotta earn the view right from the get go!
You rock!!!!!!!
Thanks!!
This is really good, can it sing in foreign languages?
It's currently best suited for English, but you can always give it a try!
I'll be jumping on the bandwagon just as soon as it can create powerful rock vocals. I'm sure they'll get there eventually.
They actually already have a number of great rock voices, they already have them!
@songsbyspencer I need to make vocals like Paul Rogers or Ray Gillan. I have been keeping an eye on what's available, and so far, no one has been able to do it. I'm sure they'll get there in time though. There is a market for it. I've seen a lot of people looking for the same thing.
WOW!
Do it! Go make something awesome

Thanks for the sub! It means a lot.
@ 4:55 Homie got bars! 😆
In a previous life I was a rapper!
That’s an awesome video.
Thank you so much!
I'm sold on this! New subscriber here!
I greatly appreciate your sub, Sara! Thank you so much
Amazing... But how to make different language music/sing.. And the way you make faid out when music finished i loved it
i am asking same
Wow.. very nice video. I love it. Its possible to send a song with AI vocals to Spotify and claim as our song?
As far as I know there are no problems there!
@@songsbyspencer Im thinking about adding information like.... Vocal by Audimee.... or something 😁
Great job. Love your videos and tacos too.
Good Job my friend ! 👏🏼 what is the software used ? can you talk about price ? Good Day !
Thanks! The software is called Audimee. Their pricing is here: audimee.com/pricing
@ many thanks !
That could help a lot for harmonies or making a choir arrangement.
Definitely! That might be my favorite feature
@songsbyspencer That's the Best use for it as long as it's not the main vocal 🤣
You will get great result if you
What a time to be alive….yep!
No doubt about it
I really like your videos, witty and informative! I like your raping and rhyming too :-) Keep it up! Cheers!
Will do! Thanks for watching
this is great to help males and females sing opposite-sex songs. I was trying to find smthg that would transform my vocals into a 'deep voiced male' for hip hop vocals. this fits so thanks!
Glad you found it helpful! Switching my voice to female is my favorite feature by far.
I like all what you're doing ❤
I am following you from Morocco 🇲🇦
Thank you so much for watching, supporting the channel, and sharing your outlook. It is appreciated more than you know!
Thanks for sharing your perspective. I also think there's something so special about a human voice that AI can't quite replicate.
@
Very true.
Totally agree with you, what 's about copyright claims?
All the voices are royalty free and copyright free! Anything you make is good to go.
Why does this make me think about Lorde, Sparkling thoughts give me the hope to move onnnnnn, yayaya...
singing is more then just sounding nice.
This is crazy
Mind blowing stuff
I really like your own voice.
Thanks!
I think the harmony would spund better if you sang the 2nd part and then converted it to the female voice. Very cool all the same. Def gonba try this out
Quote: "What a great time to be alive!"
All things considered, I'd say it's pretty solid! It's certainly exciting.
amazing!
Thanks!!
Great video Spencer. My question: is it possible to clone our voice from old cassette recordings, after isolating them with Ai from possible background noise? I wonder how large the sample needs to be to make cloning possible and if it needs to include all alphabet letters.
If you isolate them well enough I have no reason to think the conversion wouldn't be smooth!
@@songsbyspencer Great, but is there any imformation about the amount of the available words that are necessary? What if we have only 10 words spoken on the tape?
your voice is much better
I appreciate that!
If youre not a good signer dont expect those result even with pitch correction... garbage in = garbage out
@@louiserichard1729 That's very constructive, cheers.
I guess I'll just keep my mouth shut and go back to the "childrens" never to ask a question again, so I can be sure not to bore the experts.
@@minerwilly My goal was not to insult you Minerwilly. I just insist on saying that this AI will works well on good signers , not on bad ones . And thats very important . Garbage in = garbage out EVEN with AI . Its not for bad signers Thats my only point here Happy Christmas
You singing pretty good!
Thanks! I do my best
This is real fun...
Insanely cool and insanely scary!
i subscribed bc of the awesome intro
Thank you! I take great pride in my intros. Your sub means a lot!
You know, this is an interesting tool for a specific use case: song writes trying to sell their music. Being able to cut cost for, eg an opposite-sex vocalist, puts more money in the pocket of the songwriter. Not necessarily great if you’re a session guy, but hey….
It's definitely a new wrinkle in the music industry. The power of these tools is insane!
Spencer, can this plugin work in realtime? for sure I expect some latency though
@@songsbyspencer if everybody can do something, it stops being special.
Cool 😎

Nice

Just wow
Wild stuff!
