    Wow this is so good! My dream amp, guitar, effects and especially the tone of JMC! I hope I can achieve that tone but as for now I can't afford those pedals. I only have cheap guitar and effect pedal. 😅 Anyway, I subscribed to you.

      @@TheToneGeek that would be righteous man! I actually found your video because I've been considering ceriatone's SSS or their J(oyful) M(usic). Would be so cool to hear one of their offerings in person. If you'd like you can find me on Facebook if you use it and we could link up sometime and have some jams!

    Oh what i would do for that opportunity. Im a huge srv fan, i know all of his shows by heart and its crazy to see lenny and #1 hanging on that wall. My favorite version of lenny is the 1985 show in tokyo Japan.

    Fender Dual Professional If heavy as hell but I own two of them and they have great reverb and tremolo and pedal platform capability that is unmatched. Those dumbles don’t have anything on the fender dual professional

    So the string singer is the one?
    What's the difference between the other dumbles? Can you get equivalent tones?

    • @TheToneGeek
      @TheToneGeek  4 года назад +1

      Steel String Singer is meant to be a clean amplifier. Other Dumbles like the overdrive special have a clean and dirty channel. There is indeed differences in tone between models and years of Dumble amps

    So, I got a Steel String Singer #2 (50/25w) and mine is ridiculously crazy loud. Like, in a basement studio on half-power 25w mode it shakes the floor 2 floors above WHEN GAIN IS 50% and MASTER VOLUME IS AT 1. Is that your experience?

    • @TheToneGeek
      @TheToneGeek  3 года назад +3

      It's a very loud amp. My experience is that the wattage really doesn't directly correlate to audible "loudness". This build is 100w so it has a bit of headroom. My preference is to use an attenuator if bedroom levels are required and maintain the wattage of the original design.

    • @fredsaintfelix6828
      @fredsaintfelix6828 11 месяцев назад

      @@TheToneGeekwhat attenuator are you using?

    • @TheToneGeek
      @TheToneGeek  11 месяцев назад

      @@fredsaintfelix6828 I personally like the Boss TAE for many reasons compared to the OX box. Specifically the impulse response, the built in reverb/effects, and it has a built in amplifier to make a 20watt amp into 100w ⚡

    That’s something you don’t see every day. A tom DeLonge Strat above a dumble sss that’s worth more than my entire apartment complex.
    I have to admit even though I’d be cranking out some classic John Mayer licks all day, I’d want to plug that delonge Strat into it and play blink 182. I bet you might be the only person on the planet who’s possibly played a blink 182 song through a 200 thousand dollar dumble amp.

    • @TheToneGeek
      @TheToneGeek  5 лет назад +1

      I like your style!! That Tom DeLonge strat gets a LOT of attention. It's actually one of my favorite guitars because how simple it is and it stays in tune for years... Literally years..

    • @MisterRorschach90
      @MisterRorschach90 5 лет назад +1

      The Tone Geek I had one growing up. It was such a good guitar my father asked to borrow it every Sunday to play in the worship band at his church over his expensive acoustic. I played it in a little screamo punk band in high school and tried to switch to a Gibson sg for a bit but it couldn’t even hold a candle to the Delong Strat. Honestly it is probably the best guitar I’ve ever played price to performance wise. I think I got it on sale for 300 bucks or something. It outperforms some 2-3000 dollar guitars all day.

    • @TheToneGeek
      @TheToneGeek  5 лет назад

      jordan secrist rock on!! I just went through memory lane looking up Tom playing his. I might need locking tuners like his. I’m happy to see the price/value of the DeLonge strat has not budged in years. I bought this one in 2007 and will hold onto it. Tasteful stickers along the way all coming back to Blink and Aliens 👽

    What pedals were on for the JM3 songs?

    • @TheToneGeek
      @TheToneGeek  5 лет назад +2

      Aqua puss (mk1 modded) on the whole time. He kicks in a few different pedals at different parts so follow the footwork. Slow dancing was katana. TS10 at some points and klon at others. The JM3 I believe he had on the boss BD-2 and Steel String. Hopet helps and thanks for watching!
