I love the USP 45. I own that and the USP 9. both are accurate and reliable guns. they're built like tanks. Glock 19 would definitely be an ideal SHTF gun.
Ive been watching you since I was a little kid , I’d love to meet you one day bro ... your videos got me through a lot of tough times in my life ... prepping gave me a reason ... thank you & god bless you big bro - love from Chicago 🇺🇸
Reliability and price for me is a Glock since I’m able to achieve “blue label” first responder pricing. G17, 19, or the newer G45 are wonderful protection.
Fenix flashlight are the best. That’s all I carry, along with my glocks. You sure love those .45, excellent round for defense. Not for me, I’ve carried and trained with a 9mm for over 35 years, I can shoot 9mm super fast and super accurate.
Reg I,m a Dinosaur I love the Browning Hi-power 9mm, Easy to find Magazines, spare parts, the choice of over 60 Nations for a service Pistol. Also a very simple design,
The Browning HP has been my 9mm of choice since 1987. Now that they are no longer made, I got the Springfield Armory SA35 as my BHP clone. Nothing wrong with dinosaurs. I'm stillna 1911 man. Learned my 1911 doing army officers training in 1980, ate C Rats, and wore a steel pot. No MREs or Kevlar helmets back then.
Glock 17,19,20&21 H&K45 basically I would go with a Glock 19 and a quality AR in a SHTF situation. Probably because of my military experience. You go with what you know
FN FNX. 45 standard. 15 rounds of .45 per magazine. This was made for the US SOCOM offensive handgun bid. FN knows how to make a gun fit for going to war. Thermopylmer frame, stainless steel slide with corrosion resistant coating. Cocked and locked capable. Have a Streamlight TLR-1 1,000 lumen weapon mount light. For the tactical with threaded barrel, #6 rubber O ring will stop it from backing out.
You gotta get 1 revolver. Get a ruger gp100 in 357. You can shoot 38 and 357, not to mention 357 is a great woods gun for bear. But it’s definitely something you should try
I used to have an HK USP 45 compact. It was a great gun! The only downside on the compact is it only holds 8 rounds and isn't exactly compact. You referenced a revolver and contact shots if someone was on you. You should look into the SOCP dagger or the SOCP mini if your worried about that situation. A small fixed blade knife like that was designed for close quarters like that and is superior to a folding knife that you likely could not deploy if needed.
Since you are talking about guns for shtf, something to keep in mind is the Glock is about the only pistol you mentioned that just about anyone can easily gunsmith themselves. Pick up one of those replacement parts packs for your model and generation pistol from someplace like Lone Wolf or the Glock Store etc... and you are in business. Stupid easy to replace every part on the Glock pistols. Also, as far as the pistol coming out of battery from contact, a good frame mounted weapon light like an Olight Balor can eliminate much of that. Having said that, there are techniques taught in some circles that will still allow for one handed disabling of auto pistols by an adversary and in at least one case i.e., Beretta 92, remove the slide in a very quick one-handed move.
Reginald, I love watching your content man. You are so honest and open when you film your videos. When you were talking about the semi autos getting knocked out of battery, my recommendation is adding a light that is a bit longer than the barrel of a pistol. It could stop the slide from being pushed back if you’re in a tussle. A SureFire X300 is a good example on a sub-compact pistol.
I live in a townhouse in a suburb of Minneapolis. I have a Taurus TX22 and Taurus G3. I've come to the conclusion that the most likely SHTF scenario would be short term and planning for a long term SHTF scenario is no feasible unless you live in a rural area and have property. So I keep enough food, water, and ammo to last 2 weeks to a month.
I would stick with international calibers / common weapons - easier to attain parts, mags, ammo, replacement weapons should the weapon break, get lost, stolen, what have you. Plus, with weapons familiarity, if you replace the weapon with a like weapon, you didn't lose much and can still keep up the best fight. The calibers would have to be: .22lr, .32acp/7.65mm, .380acp/9mm short, and 9x19 or 9mm. 1. Glock 19 as-is, accessories: G25 .380 barrel and recoil spring assembly, Compact Glock .22lr conversion kit. (The G25 barrel seems redundant; .380 can be shot in a 9mm barrel. It just needs a lighter recoil spring to cycle the weapon successfully.) 2. Beretta 92 Series, preferably the new iteration of the 92FS. The original design came from the M1932/M1933, chambered in .32acp/7.65mm and later .380acp/9mm short. The first 92 Series was the M1951. 3. Walther PPK .380acp/9mm short, .32acp/7.65mm, or .22lr version. (I can't think of a suitable weapon for #4 or #5 because the Top 3 has already settled the argument.)
3:20 "Thread protector keeps falling off" ... just put a high temp rubber O ring on it. Mine has 800 rounds through it with O ring, no issues -- tight as can be. Also. the internet says there is issues with the FDE version of the FNX45tac-- In that the mags dont drop smoothly (or not at all) -- I have the black version and 3 mags (one purchased outside the gun) and all drop smoothly, never an issue -- and I run drills VERY often (3hrs a week)
Depending on distance, it's nice to be familiar with a gun and an ammo -- for reliability and shot placement. But to your credit, a loaded gun is better than an unloaded one
Of the guns I own: Ruger SR-9 or Smith and Wesson 2.0 compact optics model. Probably the best option: Glock 22 with 9mm, .357 and .22 conversion kit and multiple mags
If your semi get knocked out of battery, just pull the pistol back 1/2 inch and pull the trigger. If someone can get within the tussle range, and he grabs your cylinder, he can lock your revolver from firing. The cylinder has the most leverage to prevent the gun from cocking and the cylinder from rotating. Now you're stuck.
You need to buy a .357 smith & Wesson. You’d enjoy shooting it, and don’t prep to hard for it just get 200 38spl and 200 mags put away and then buy some to shoot every once in a while, be a good backup gun for prepping.
I agree with your top choice of the USP45. I just picked up the tactical version. It feels like a smaller version of the MK23, which is so large that it’s unwieldy. Added suppressor height night sights.
I to have the HK45C and love it. Never owned a Sig but I’d like to get one soon. Have you ever considered a shoulder holster? I have two. Have a Glock 19 but wouldn’t mind owning a G17.
Great choice! It would be a hard choice for me, I would probably go with Glock 34 or Glock 17. But if I wanted/need to conceal it or to be able to cover it I might go Glock 19 or a Glock 32 (357 sig) and also carry extra.40 barrel and 9mm conversion barrel with a few 9mm mags that would prob be my survival Glock with being able to shoot many rounds. For a .45acp I’d either go Glock 21 or colt 1911. But I think I’d just skip my 21 and go Glock 20 and Rick 15 rounds of 10mm for more power! Great video!
You don’t have to worry about semi-autos getting knocked out of battery if they have threaded barrels, comps or a WML that extend past the slide like a Surefire X300U. All of my SHTF pistols carry one.
Demcad, love your videos but let's be for real in a "REAL" Top Five Handguns For SHTF situation: #1 Glock G19 9mm Can use mags for 17, 19 & extended mags plus 9mm ammo can be found everywhere. #2 Any Mil Spec 1911 45 ACP Pistol, tried and true reliable manstopper & has been used in every major conflict since WWI until today plus 45 ACP can be found everywhere. #3 A .357 Magnum Double Action Revolver 4.25" barrel, can use 38 SPL & .357 Magnum Ammo, easy to operate and uses two calibers that can be found everywhere. #4 A .22 LR Double Action Revolver, can use .22 Short, .22 Long & .22 Long Rifle ammo, lightweight & easy to shoot plus all variants of .22 ammo can be found everywhere. #5 A Quality .22 LR Semi Auto Pistol ie. Ruger or Browning Buckmark there again .22 ammo can be found everywhere. This Top Five List is not only for a SHTF situation but for long term SURVIVAL. Next time you visit the ATL hit me up or message me Bro.
I understand you love .45 caliber. But in a SHTF situation, wouldn’t you want a higher round capacity? I know I would. Hollow point 9mm is just as lethal as .45 these days. I would just feel better with 17 rounds, than 10-12 rounds IJS.
Lately I am going to pick up the one I have the most ammo for. Only if you have exhausted all shot gun ammo and spent all rifle ammo. Hand guns are the very last options for you and your survival.
Right now my edc is a sig 226 in .357sig. My dream gun is a sig 220 legion in 10mm but I can't find one in stock. I would carry my rock island 1911 10mm now but it's not reliable.
Someone told me that if someone had a 45 ACP pistol caliber rifle that they WILL not beat someone with an a.r 15, I said, it all depends, if there is huge distance between them then the a.r will win because of it's range capabilities (but not everyone can shoot from a distance), either then that "any bullet can do damage ", then I said, what do you think? That people with an a.r has an invisible shield that bullets bounce off of them?
"... and you only had one handgun with you, which one would it be?" Proceeds to discuss five. I knew you were going to go with .45 caliber! (My choice is the Glock 19 pistol and the PTR-100 GI rifle)
I really wished my HK45CT had the nights instead of the tall sights. NS are more durable and fit holsters better. Best way to remember which way the threads go is, of course make sure the gun is clear. Then look down the sights, unthread counterclockwise. HK threads are reversed so instead of looking at it from the barrel, muzzle end, look at it from the sight picture end.
I’d go with any of the following (with having experience with the first 2). 1. Springfield XD 9 (4 Inch Barrel) 2. Glock 19 3. CZ P-01 4. A 1911 .45 ACP. 5. Beretta M9/92FS 6. Sig Sauer P229/P226
Any HK pistols from the USP line onwards will do for me. I shoot them better than most. Any military grade pistol will do however. Glock, Sig, Beretta, CZ, 1911, BHP, ect.
Dude, I hope you have a lot of mags for each one of those pistols. Hell for any of your firearms for that matter. Don't discount a good 4in 357 as a backup weapon to your 45 ACP. Hand and glove is all I am saying. Peanut butter and jelly is what they also said. Lmao
You have a lot of nice guns, but most are out of reach financially for most people. If I knew nothing about guns, I wouldn't spend that type of money on one. ESPECIALLY my first one! My advice would be the best gun is ANY GUN YOU CAN GET YOUR HANDS ON! Just get a gun and plenty of freedom seeds!!!
If you manage to survive enough gunfights in a long term SHTF situation you are going to eventually lose all your magazines because when you are reloading a semi auto during a gunfight you drop the empty mag on the ground and depending on the situation you might not be able to go back and pick up your empty mags afterwards and that means your semi auto becomes a single shot. That's why having a 357 magnum revolver in your collection is a good idea because it doesn't have any magazines to lose. I'm not saying you should rely on a revolver as your primary handgun. I'm just saying that for " long term " SHTF having a 4 inch 357 magnum revolver would be a good thing. 357 magnum is the caliber of choice because you can also shoot 38 special ammo in it. If you want to stick with 45 acp Ruger & S&W both make 4 inch 45 acp double action revolvers, but then you have to deal with moon clips. That's another reason why a rimmed caliber like 357 mag is a better choice.
@@robertvondarth1730 You're probably right, but preppers don't stock up on ammo and gear because they think they'll get killed easily in a couple gun fights. They stock up so they'll have what they need in case they DO survive long term. One of the main reasons why revolvers would likely still be around and used in " long term " disasters is because semi autos lost all their magazines and if you're a prepper that wants to have items for " long term " survival situations you really should have at least one revolver in your collection. Owning a revolver doesn't mean you are giving up on semi autos. It just means you're adding a tool to your kit that doesn't require magazines.
I love the USP 45. I own that and the USP 9. both are accurate and reliable guns. they're built like tanks. Glock 19 would definitely be an ideal SHTF gun.
I like the idea of a Glock 23, some 40 cal magazines, a 9 mm barrel, and some 9 mm magazines. It's like two guns in one.
@@Nerotique 9mm would definitely be a much easier round to get your hands in a SHTF type scenario.
Any .40S&W chambered Glock makes a great SHTF. Buy a 9mm conversion barrel, a .22 conversion kit and a .357 SIG and you have (4) guns in one.
Agreed. Glock or P226 in whatever caliber from 9mm up. Also anything from the M9 / 92 family.

Any HK pistols from the USP line onwards will do for me. I shoot them better than most. Any military grade pistol will do however. Glock, Sig, Beretta, CZ, 1911, BHP, ect.
Now you know you can get some base plates for your Glock 21 and extent the round capacity to 16+1..
Convert the USP45 to LEM so you have a constant action trigger and can omit the safety lever entirely.
Dude, I hope you have a lot of mags for each one of those pistols. Hell for any of your firearms for that matter. Don't discount a good 4in 357 as a backup weapon to your 45 ACP. Hand and glove is all I am saying. Peanut butter and jelly is what they also said. Lmao
Any gun in my hand, until I can get back to another cz 75
M-29 Davey Crockett atomic recoilless rifle.
Never leave home without it :D
Great choice. The only downside it also kills the shooter.
Use a little lock tight on the tread protector and it won't come off unless you want it off.
Just use what you know works for you. lol.Don't anguish over the decision..
I tried to pick a different gun but if I really had to pick one for the rest of my life it might be a G19, I tried to pick a different gun but damn
I agree with you 100%.
True BUT moon clips are cheap and MUCH faster than most speed loaders for rimmed rounds.
@@red9man2130 They are also going to end up on the ground just like a magazine and you might not be able to go back and pick them up.
Someone may get into a few gunfights
No one ever gets into a lot of gunfights
Demcad you should check out the CZ97B. It is a 45acp. So it should be right up your alley.
