I was curious about how well Xtractive worked in the car so I took my demo set and covered one lens and left the other exposed. I then placed the demo on my car dashboard in direct sunlight and went and had lunch. 25 minutes later I retrieved the demo set and uncovered the covered lens to reveal the difference. You couldn't tell which had been in the sun and which one was exposed. I won't ever tell a patient that these lenses work inside the car.
Hello, thank you for the information about the lenses, can you do a video showing just how fast the lenses change back to clear when going back inside??
Hi Travis, than you for your recommendation, meanwhile these videos might be helpful for you: ruclips.net/video/EPGAz5Sphzk/видео.html Transition Lenses Brown vs Grey ruclips.net/video/z_GK6p1spag/видео.html Which Transition Lenses get the Darkest?
Sunglasses are classified categories 1-4, can you tell us the equivalent category for each type of transition lens? I reckon Gen 8 might be only up to category 2? May be even just cat. 1?
Question. I need glasses to keep in the car that i can use for strictly driving (day AND night). Disappointed that the ‘drivewear’ doesn’t return to clear for those night drives. I reckon the ‘extraactive’ is the way to go then? Strictly driving day and night (ie Road Trips).
@@RXSafety I recently went to LensCrafters and asked about these new tint that changes even in a car and she told me that isn’t true we use both gen 8 and XTRACTIVE. I told her that’s not what it says both on LensCrafters and Rayban and then she went on to say abt that windshield have a uv tint already do the glasses won’t work.. Which she’s wrong I’m just really upset cause I bought these glasses for that exact reason and then she told me I can’t change them cause I already got a exchange I can’t stand the LensCrafters near me
@@wrldnel5200 Hi WRLDNEL, thank you for watching. :) We are sorry to hear about your experience. Regarding the Transitions XTRActive polarized, we can say that they darken even behind the windshield, to help protect your eyes from bright light, however they do not polarize in the car because the windshield blocks UV rays. If you need a new pair or want a consultation about changing your lenses with RX Safety, feel free to talk to us on our chat at rx-safety.com/. Please let us know if you have any additional questions.
Hi Gonzales, thank you for watching. :) The Vantage does have blue light protection: it filters 35% of harmful blue light indoors and 85% outdoors. Please let us know if you have any additional questions.
Hi Juan Carlos Torres, thank you for watching. :) The Transitions Signature Gen 8 lenses are not anti-reflective. However, at RX Safety you can add anti-reflective lens coating to your glasses. Please let us know if you have any additional questions.
All transition lenses have 100% UV protection, you need to be sure that sunglasses have 100% UV protection. Not all sunglasses offer the same level of protection from the sun.
DC Perry, Drivewear lenses are polarized and do reduce the glare adding AR wouldn't hurt and it will increase the amount of glare that is removed. It's not necessary but it's not a bad thing to add it all comes down to whether you want to spend the extra money.
Doc. recomienda colocarle blue block a los transitions, o ya con el filtro que viene para luz azul es suficiente, ya que lei que solo protege en un 20% ?
Hi Gustavo Ortiz, thank you for watching. :) The Transitions lenses already provide blue light protection. Depending on which model you get, blue light indoor protection can range from 20 to 35%, and blue light outdoor ranges from 85% to 95%. Please let us know if you have any additional questions.
The tint indoors is negligible. You won't feel they are tinted when wearing them really, unless you take them off and carefully compare back and forth with and without.

Mine work great in my car 🤷♂️
Mine work awesome in my car. Maybe you have heavy tints or something? I feel like I’m wearing sunglasses in my car.
The Xtra Active lens sure looked darker outside than the gen 8.

Made it!
Now there s a new XTRActive with variable polarization.
Do you offer that?
Just ordered my first pair of Transitions...I still have no idea if I'm going to love them, or hate them lol
Hi @twitchster77,
Awesome! I'm sure you'll enjoy them. Transition lenses are super convenient. Let us know your thoughts!

Can the xtractive be worn for nighttime driving ??
Hi @jimmysavage258, Thank you for watching. Yes, Xtractive lenses can be worn for nighttime driving as they reduce glare while staying clear.
Ditch the music please.
Can I ask wchich lenses are better for hmm all day? So I don't need to carry another clear glasses?
عندي نظارات شمسيه امريكيه ماركه من عام 1986 اشتراه عمي الا الان ما زالت موجوده
My only question is does drivewear start clear
You shouldn't fast forward during transitioning
Mana kah harga yang paling mahal
Caitlyn Jenner should be an endorser
Good review but the music is too loud...

Gen 8 its 3
Do transition gen 8 have bluelight filters?
They do not. You would need to have a blue blocker coating applied to the lenses.
