i can hardly thank you enough. Discovering your yoga practices has given me so much relief. 10 minutes eliminates any excuses of time & I frequently add another session.
I'm so glad, Julie! It always warms my heart to hear that people like you are listening to what their body needs on a given day and combining multiple practices. That's why I do my best to keep them short and accessible. Big gold star to you!! 🌟
So glad I found this. I’ve been dealing with a nagging rotator cuff muscle injury for almost a year! Hopefully this and the other shoulder exercise will do for my shoulder what your original hip bursitis video did for my hips! Will do this daily. Thanks Joelle!
Oh my! Your hip bursitis video helped me so much over a year ago. This one was perfect for the shoulder pain I've been having. I felt an almost instant release in my shoulder. Your videos and expertise are incredible! Thank you.
You are so welcome! I'm really happy to hear that the practices are helping you feel better - well done to you for taking great care of yourself and your body! 😃
Thank you bud. You're a godsent. I'm a fast bowler (think baseball pitcher) and I keep regularly irritating my shoulder socket and inner thigh (adductor, piriformis). I have a match today and I woke up with inflammated shoulder and stiff gron. Stumbled upon your page looking for thigh and groin stretches and it BLEW ME AWAY! I do yoga btw so not even a newbie but every single one of your poses/stretches/asanas the way you showed them are just so easy and perfectly targetted it's just amazing. I love you girl. Keep up the great work. All the Love and energy to you Namaste!
Thank you so much for this video and other shoulder pain videos. I did suffer from shoulder pain for about a month now due to bad posture or sleep position. These yoga stretches help me a lot to relief with pain and sleep better.🥰🤗Much love from India
Did this last night because I did pull-ups too early in my injury recovery and over did it which caused extra pain and inflammation. Woke up this morning and already feel relief. Thank you 💗
Joelle, my shoulders feel loved after this practice! I used to be a base in cheerleading 10 years ago and my left shoulder has been starting to have some pain activated lately, likely due to serving and carrying the heavy trays on that one side. I'm thinking I should create a morning routine that combines hips, shoulders, wrists and ankles to hit those special spots to start my day. If you do anything like that, please let me know. May also be wise to do some stretches at the end of the day as well. Thank you so much Joelle! Before I found your videos I had watched a few other people, but instantly I clicked with how you go about the practices and you have such a variety, I know that I'll find what I'm looking for in your collection. Thank you
This is so nice to hear, thank you Amber! If you have a look at my head to toe playlist (this one: tinyurl.com/murub3uc ) you'll find quickie practices between 5-10 minutes for each of those areas that could be easily combined! 😉 If you prefer to take the whole 28-day challenge, you can also sign up to receive it here and work your way all the way down the body: tinyurl.com/2vyubcdu I hope that helps!
I have been following you for the past months and really enjoy your videos. They have been very helpful for any pains in my hips and shoulders. Thank you Joelle. Keep it going 🥰🙏🏽
Did this shoulder routine added your wrist, heart health then circulation for a full rounded self care experience. Thank you again Joelle, love your videos!
These are great stretches for the shoulders, upper back and neck. I felt many of them down to my wrists. Thank you Joelle 💙 It is so good to see your channel growing. I love your videos!

Oh I'm so glad it's helping! In case you haven't tried it yet, the rhomboids practice would also be a great one to help target the shoulderblade area: ruclips.net/video/FBMkOmBK7lk/видео.html
Thanks to much for this Joelle, I had arms pain (because of stress) and this helped a lot. However I would appreciate if you make a video related to upper arm pain. Thanks again
I'm so glad this helped! I have a few you might like to try for biceps (ruclips.net/video/uhN4BuxNGwM/видео.html) and triceps (ruclips.net/video/vG8BM1KqWhI/видео.html) in the upper arm
Hi I love your videos, they are really helping me, I am suffering with both hip & shoulder bursitis & would love you to do some more classes on this if possible please
Hi Neil, it's a little tough to say as I don't know exactly what's going on with you, but you're very welcome to try this one and see if it helps! Another one you could have a look at to compare with would be the one for the rhomboid muscle (the rhomboids anchor the scapula, which can facilitate the actions of the rotator cuff muscles): ruclips.net/video/FBMkOmBK7lk/видео.html
Thank you for the suggestion I'll think about it! You might enjoy trying the tinnitus one in the meantime : ruclips.net/video/8z6qsK29Jgk/видео.htmlsi=ZCvoWHi2zAAidZBR
I believe I have shoulder tendonitis and Im finding it difficult to lift my 6 month old. I feel alot better afer this video, even though I was a bit skeptical haha. Thank you!
Thank you, so glad you enjoy practicing together! Truth be told I don't have a great name for it 😂 It's basically a mix of hatha yoga with mobility/strength work and occasionally some self-massage techniques. I do look for inspiration from PTs as well!
@@YogawithJoelle that’s great I have been teaching kundalini and yin over 20 years and taken yoga my whole life and honestly your magick combo is my fav
this felt good till the last stretch I git a super tight painful pinch in front part of shoulder any thoughts on why and how to prevent that? otherwise great stretches' did this with your other shoulder stretch
Great job combining a couple of practices Heather! If you feel like one stretch in particular isn't suiting you or is just causing pain, I'd suggest leaving it out entirely, or holding a previous stretch (one that felt good) a bit longer 😉
Thanks for the suggestion! I will definitely keep this in mind :) In the meantime, if you search "yoga with joëlle shoulder pain" on RUclips, you will find a couple that may be helpful 🙏🙏
I'm sorry to hear that Jeanne! There are different types of arthritis, so obviously it will depend on what feels best to you and your body, but I'd suggest looking through the playlist for upper body pain as I've got a few practices there for neck pain - that way you can try them out to see which one feels best for you. Here's the playlist (or you can just go to the Playlists tab on my channel if you need to get back to it): ruclips.net/p/PL9wzuXltV2000B1xmeO3rkE0RGuHw0nPm
I need to do more for my shoulders as I don't have a lot of movement due to scoliosis and >20 years of inflammatory arthritis in right shoulder. Goalpost arms are particularly difficult, I can't get the forearms on the floor at all, the right is further from the ground than the left. Is there anything I can do to help improve that?
Hi Katrina, goalpost arms are tricky! It's likely an issue with limited external rotation in the joint, so if that's too much, you can keep the hands clasped behind the head (sunbather arms). To work on improving it, we need to use some resistance. So you can for example hold a weight and let the weight bring your forearm closer to the ground, and then resist against the weight and lift out. Try doing that 5x a day and progressively making the weight a little heavier. See how it feels without ever forcing yourself. I hope that helps!
Please is there any practice for improving the below mentioned problem that I am currently having in my right arm. Problem is : I am unable to bend my right arm in cactus especially while lying down on my back and also not able to do namaste on the back. I was able to do these range of motions but due to a shoulder injury currently unable to do them now and even physiotherapy hasn't helped me much. If there is any practice to help me in improving on these issues, it will be really helpful. Much gratitude to you 🙏
Great job! I think I responded to your comment already, but just in case this is a practice you may like to try to help open up the chest area and work on cactus: ruclips.net/video/8QArvfAO-GM/видео.html As to savasana on the back, you can keep the feet planted if that is easier rather than extending the legs, or feel free to sit up on a cushion with your back against a wall instead. I hope that helps!
That's not uncommon if the mobility in the shoulders is limited, you're not alone! You can try either bringing your hands farther from the body by straightening the arms to the point where the back of the hands can touch down, or you can place something like a book or cushion under the backs of the hands to bring the floor closer to you. Hope that helps!
