    I'm confused. The instructions say to "install" prior to travel but "activate" upon arrival. When I scan the installation QR code it says "ready to activate". IDK how to "install" but not "activate" the esim.

      Hello, the installation is based on adding the eSIM to the phone, it will appear on but it is turned on to be used. The activation is to turn on the eSIM roaming when it is already at its destination.

      So installing a few days before doesn’t count towards my days used until I activate at destination right? This party of the instructions is the most confusing and stressing me out.

    Terrible confusing. It is not possible to install without activating it as the activation is the step required to finalize the installation. And, if you install it, the data plan starts counting. Plus, although the FAQ section suggests the data plan only starts after enabling data roaming, the same page at its very bottom indicates the days start counting at activation. Please, fix this, and provide customers with a clear and direct explanation about when the data plan days start counting.

      Hello! We are sorry for your situation. When you install the eSIM, mobile data will not start running, it is only when you activate it when you arrive at your destination.

    10/10 was super skeptical of this but it worked. Manually doing it didn’t work but thankfully managed to use my laptop to scan the QR code and that worked like a charm.

    Hello - great video! It says to install a few hours before activating. What is considered a few hours? I would like to install a day (24 hours) before I arrive a my destination. Is this possible to install 24 hours prior to activation?

    I just purchased my ESIM from Holafly. I don't travel until November but is it OK to install now? Also, my cell phone operator (T-Mobile) gives us unlimited free data overseas (but at a very slow rate, like 256kbps), so is it necessary for me to disable the "switch mobile data" toggle since I wouldn't be charged for roaming?

    I bought a 5 day esim today and wanted to install it before my trip next week. I have Iphone 12. So I installed it and directlly it popped up as activated? I dont want to activate it now. I just want to prepare the phone before I go on my trip.

      Hi! The eSIM is automatically activated on your cell phone to recognize it, but the data will really start to run when you arrive at your destination and activate data roaming.

    Hi, I will travel to Europe in a few days and I'm thinking to buy holafly esim, I just have a question: I want unlimited internet(data roaming) but I do not want to receive or made any phone call or using my home phone plan to avoid expensive charges. Can I use only holafly esim for data roaming or I still have to keep activated my original SIM card with my carrier here in Canada with holafly sim?

    Hi, I am travelling to the UAE in a few days and have purchased and installed the sim, I have had a look at the documents and the videos but still a little confused. I have the iphone 15, if i turn of my primary line and activate my esim, when i use whats app etc will it register as a new number or will it send my messages with my old number.
    The video says to change voice calling and roaming to my esim.
    Just a liitle confused at the moment. Thanks

      Hello! You can continue to use your original phone number for Whatsapp and in all the apps where you have it registered, without the need to have the main sim activated.

    I scanned the QR code because the email said that u can install the eSIM and activate it later but when i scanned the qr code, it got activated? so does that mean my eSIM got activated before my trip? when i saw on the eSIM it says the line is already turned on! please help!

      Hola! No, al dar click en activar la eSIM se instala en el celular, pero, no inicia a contar. Sería bueno que revisaras las configuraciones de la eSIM ajustes > datos móviles (también puede aparecer como mobiles, cellular, data cellular, etc). Y revisa que el roaming de la eSIM no está activo.

    i bought switzerland esim i was trying to install the esim but its directed me to activating it and im not in switzerland yet. what should i do?

      The activate option means that the eSIM will be installed on the cell phone, but, it will not start counting the package immediately, for that the eSIM roaming must be active, something that must be done manually after installation.

    I’m already in Germany and want to get Holafly. I suspended my Verizon plan while I’m here but I have my iPhone and original SIM card. If I activate holafly esim on my phone, will I incur any charges from Verizon if I select my phone number as primary number?

      Hello! If for X or Y reason you use the Verizon eSIM this will generate additional costs, it is recommended to deactivate or if possible remove the main SIM, in this case the Verizon one, from the cell phone.

      Hello! The mobile activates the eSIM with the aim of enabling it on your mobile, but the activation of your data package as such will be done once you arrive at your destination and activate data roaming.

    At the 2:05 mark if you are following the instructions to the letter (and you have not arrived at the destination country), your phones Cellular Data will now be selected to HolaFly. However, if you are still in your destination country this is a problem as you will have no access to your normal (primary) data. As such, a very small extra step is required (if you have not departed): make sure "Cellular Data" is still "Primary". Then when you arrive at your destination change it to "HolaFly".

    How early can one install the e-
    sim. Going to lets say Australia can take a day or more from one end of the planet. So you say just few hours before...but is 24 hrs before the flight but 48 hrs before reaching lets say Melbourne is OK? Thanks

    So annoying. I bought a Europe E-Sim for travelling around mainland Europe.
    I’m a UK citizen so when I installed the E-Sim 9 days before my trip, it automatically activated the sim and because the UK is already in Europe it’s started my plan early - waste of money and no support.

    Hi, I have purchased 42 day Europe eSIM. However, I stop over in Dubai before I touch down in Europe and am aware that the Europe eSIM doesn't cover Dubai.
    However, I want to make sure I install the eSIM before I leave Australia so then I can just activate it in Europe.
    During the installation steps at the 'Cellular Data' step, can I select 'Primary' instead of 'Holafly' so it doesn't mistakenly active the plan and then switch to then Holafly sim once arrived to activate it?

    Location is also inaccurate. I’m in Warsaw Poland but my location shows I’m in London. Holafly says I have to buy a VPN to get the location accurate. What a pain 🤦🏻‍♂️

Could you please respond with yes or no. 1) Can I install the sim WITHOUT activating it weeks in advance without triggering the start of the period, assuming everything is on Primary and sim is not On? (Yes/No) 2)Activating the sim at destination triggers the start of the period? (Yes/No) Thanks

    I have 2 very important questions!!!
    1. If I buy the esim with hola fly, do I change phone number or do I keep the same I have with my carrier in Canada?
    2. And the other thing I am wondering is does it work only in the hired country? For example if going to France, does the esim only works there? Because my situation is this: I am about to go to Europe and first I go to France (around 4 days) but after that I go to Portugal and because I will be in a very important event (on which the organizers already have my phone number) so I have to have access to data to be in constant contact with them. And after a few weeks I will be in Spain, so it is going to be more than one country and I have to be connected. How should I proceed in this case?

We have to point out that once you activate roaming and you are at your destination, the days of your plan will start counting, so make sure you do not turn on roaming before arriving in Italy.

    Very low speed after 1GB usage you will get 3mbps speed wich is very slow. I don’t recommend this esim

    My iPhone menu is different from the one in this video. Is this outdated?
