The Three Kings parade is absolutely my favorite holiday in Spain. I love the community feeling, and the pure joy of the children, families of all ages enjoying and having a great time together, is a part of Christmas, and is the biggest Christmas Day in Spain, is the day when children receive their gifts, December 25th is more of a family gathering and having a great meal with the family.
Couldn’t agree more! It was such a cool experience to be apart of. We will try to plan our next visit around it as well! Thanks so much for watching our videos, we just love Spain so much!
@@HeresGoodTravel Try Málaga, Sevilla, Granada, Alicante, Valencia, Galicia and in my opinion the best place to eat in the world San Sebastian in The Basque Country . You will not regret it.God Bless.
Thanks so much! So happy we got to be there for that, what a treat! We have some great videos but only from London, we still have a ton to explore in England, we will be sure to post it when we do. Cheers!
4:57 I think I can help with who is who xd All the people in the parade are the page/helpers of the 3 kings. These helpers are divided amongst the different tasks they must make, and there are 3 "more important" helpers. In the parade, the order is as follows: -The "patge estel" (star helper) is the one helping the kings with navigation (you know, that thing from rhe Bible that the 3 kings followed a star to Jesus, etc). It appears with the giant star at the beggining. -The next standalone important character is Gregori, the one helper in charge of the city of Barcelona (other cities and towns have their own too). It is sometimes confused with the 1st king xd - Then, the 3 kings come: Melcior (white beard), Gaspar (brown beard) and Baltasar (he's a black person). The last but not the least is Omar, the helper in charge of... CANDY!!!! Between the kings you can find different tasks the helpers do: there are the ones in charge of mail, toys, the ones reminding you to go early to bed and, of course, the coal miners (cuase if you've not behaved well, then the 3 kings will bring you coal!!!). I hope this helped! :) Edit: And the balloon people are not from the parade, they just know where they can make some good money xd Edit 2: and this ont only Catalan Christmas: most Hispanic countries, and I've heard that indeed all Roman Catholic and maybe also Orthodox celebrate the 3 kings! :)
This is funny, informative and incredibly useful! Obviously we will never forget Omar who is our favorite. Thank you kindly for taking the time to write this out and better understand this amazing experience. We made some friends in Barcelona and want to make it a point to visit again during the parade. It was one of the coolest things we happened to be in town for on our around the world adventure. Thanks again!
I have such an appreciation for your videos you guys! You two are great at educating us while also appreciating new cultures in a genuine way. I feel like a lot of todays travel vlogs aren’t as accessible or relatable to me, this is by far my favorite!
this is like mini christmas part 2 for most christian countries that celebrate 3 kings day. from Sweeden down to north Africa east to Lebanon and west to America. Normally i just get small gift items and tease some folks with coals in thier shoes. but put the rest under the bed.
We had some friends in Barcelona and we learned so many Christmas traditions! Such an awesome place. We are so thankful to have been able to join the celebration!
Warning : using flamenco music in a video about Barcelona is like using country music in a video about New York. Flamenco is from the south of Spain, not to Barcelona.
Apologies, thank you for the information. We have a hard time choosing the music with the service we use but we promise to be more mindful in the future. Thanks for watching!

Wow
What a party! The parade reminded us of a Disney parade, we’ve really experienced nothing like it!
OMG! This is amazing!
So so much fun!
Thank you for visiting our city!
Thank you for hosting us. Barcelona is a world gym. We can’t wait to return during the summer!

We wish we could be there for the parade again this year! Such an awesome event, one for the bucket list for sure!

This is NOT a Spanish VERSION of Christmas. January 6 to January 7 is an Orthodox Christmas, same as a Greek Orthodox.
Apologies, we just meant to say that they. Lee rate it in Spain as well, sorry for the mid up.
